  • After exploring a local Halloween outlet shop (see other video for that one - mega props and those big skeletons were plentiful), we drove by this tiny, abandoned cemetery.
Showing our respects, we spoke quietly and come to find out it was owned by Mr. Hogan himself and some of his family were there. Granted, the founder of the old little town was long deceased, it’s always charming to see these old places around Georgia.
Side note, several scenes from The Walking Dead were filmed in this area and their downtown that was right out of an old Hollywood set.

We found this spot too along with a cool one east of there in Lone Oak...so fun finding out who these folks were and how their lives shaped present day Georgia

It is extremely sad AND disrespectful that the citizens of this town do not care 1 iota about these obviously long forgotten settlers of the community they ALL call home.
In addition I notice the homes across the road are WELL MAINTAINED! I shouldn't be surprised. So many people now do not have much respect for each other, much less the dead! STILL,
I would be ashamed if I lived in this community & came across this well deserved video visit to these settlers from days gone by!! Thanks very much for the attn you bring to these souls that have passed on before us!!

Thank you for the comment. As a student of history I've always been drawn to cemeteries and the history they hold. To see it in this condition is distressing and if it is a private cemetery the family needs to step up. Have you ever been to this spot or do you know of another in the area in similar condition?
