I have watched Carson, Leno, Letterman, Fallon, Obrian, Meyers, Colbert, you name them I've watched them. Craig Ferguson was hands down the quickest witted and the funniest late-night guy there has ever been. A spontaneous genius.
I've been watching Craig ever since he was still on air and to this day it still amazes me how quick-witted and a great conversationalist he is. It's like watching a great boxer fighting, and all you can do is watch and go: "What the hell, how the fuck does he do that?!"
Yeah, I'm just getting back into his vids again. I used to watch him so much, I had lost appreciation for his genius. TV would never have a guy like him on now. Thank you RUclips
Yes, true. I remember his conversations with Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, some non-actors, & it always rocked. It's like he helps people into the joy of conversation.
She's very direct and stern in places. She has no patience ordinarily for whimsical people, and she's not overtly flirtatious like most of his other guests - but you can see over the course of the interviews she learns to appreciate Craig's frivolity and humour more and more, and eventually in the later interviews she even genuinely adores him as much as it is possible for someone like her to adore anyone.
Audiences really enjoy the lost art of conversation that occurs on the show. Segues, irony, curiosity, we know all of that, but it flows so easily. It's like we recognize it when we see it, & realize how much we miss it b/c it's not often we experience it. The sex joking is actually minor, it gets the laughter & connection going, then the conversation can really dance.
Holly Hunter is a favorite of mine. Anyone who has heard her utter that line, "...that's not my best feature.." when she was complimented on her "crooked little smile" and doesn't also smile, well, that person has no heart.

always loved holly, never realized her unique speaking voice was a morphed georgian accent. my favorite appearance is number 4 (acturally number 3, you say #4 twice) 13:27, they chat like old friends... her dresses are similar and flattering, but the white one looks especially good on her, imo. "i for a few seconds flew an f-16". just read a story about steve davis, a famous college quarterback of yore, someone let him (briefly fly a business jet (he was friends with the pilot) ( davis himself was not a pilot) (2013) and he "inadvertently cut off both engines", the pilot was unable to recorver (by making mistakes with the reboot) and they both died in the subsequent crash.
This has got to be among the best talk show host and guest interactions I've ever seen. The two of them have such a rare, genuine chemistry. And this was on late, late at night?
I've never seen guests on any chat show who obviously like the host more than on this one. Holly Hunter is a good example. You can tell she really likes him.

I learned more about Craig Ferguson than Holly Hunter. Every time Ferguson treads into uncomfortable territory with her, she starts asking him questions, or more rarely doesn't answer at all. I guess it's good that Ferguson is entertaining.
Forget Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton( who actually appeared in plenty of films and TV well into the 1960's), my man was Harold Loyd. The other guys were more pratfalls while Harold was all about full on stunts. Love the silent era.
