I think you're being too understanding and calm. :) For $1200 being spent, they would have done "something" for me. You needed to push a little harder. A big company like that could have shipped it back to themselves and then back to you for free. It does suck that we take a big chance ordering from US companies on things such as motorcycle seats. I have no doubt that had you lived in the states, they would have tried to take care of you, but that doesn't help anyone outside of the US decide to buy from their company. Corbin should have at least covered the cost of repair at your local upholsterer. Good job posting your experience with Corbin, hopefully it prevents anyone else from going through what you did. I’m also in the trucking business , but as a truckdriver. I live in Sweden and drive in Europe as employed. At the moment I’m watching a lot of videos about the Pan European , thinking about to buy one. It’s so sad to hear that Corbin doesn’t take full responsibility about this ! @@fixitmyself Their loss... I was about to ordered a Corbin Widowmaker seat, but with this knowlege i will NOT place an order! And instead go with the brands that are in my contry already.. Sucked that they didnt solved this.. Would be the only right thing to do!
Why would Corbin send you a shipping label that returns the saddle to you? You already have the seat. That's the label they would put on the box when they fix it and send it back to New Brunswick. That's the label they would put on in their own factory after they fix it. It's no good to you. That seat was defective right from the factory. Corbin should have absorbed the cost of the return. Bad Corbin. Just wondering; did you take it to an independent leather shop to see how much they could fix it for should you get no better offer from Corbin? That tear may get worse with use. I have a custom Corbin saddle just like yours that I bought about 5 years ago(only different colors). Mine didn't have the heater. I live in Newfoundland and luckily my saddle arrived unharmed. Curiously it was my second seat from them and there was a noticeable difference in quality between the first one from 2003 and this last one. I still like the latest seat but it just doesn't seem to be as well built as the older one. It's been said before: "They just don't build them like they used to". If I buy another bike I would seriously think long and hard about paying so much for another Corbin saddle. The price keeps going up and the quality keeps going down. I still have and ride both bikes with Corbin saddles.
Yeah, unfortunately the whole experience aside from ordering the seat has been bad. A local shop quoted $200 for a repair. I passed. I've got enough into this seat. As far as Corbin, nothing new to report. Had I been in the US they said they would have paid shipping both ways. It's on the bike now, I just live with it.
