I passed first time today, thank you for all your content! I actually stalled twice on my test but recovered well and went on to get only 4 minors! Brilliant channel, very informative and easy to learn from!
Really needed this. I never stall in my instructors car but when I’m in my own car I stall constantly and i get so worked up about it. So because of that I avoid going out in my car which isn’t great
I was like that at first, honestly just drive around your area and get a feel of your car. If you're driving a petrol car give it a bit more gas while slowly moving off the clutch.
LostWanderingSoull I think that’s my problem I don’t give it enough gas when setting off because I’m trying to rush and do it as quick as possible so the people behind don’t get mad lol. I’ll definitely try that and just go out in it more I’m sure I’ll get used to it in no time
Just a huge Thank You for all your content. I passed my driving test today with no faults. I did it with no instructor using my sisters car with her beside me and only having two weeks practice with you and a couple of other instructors videos for guidance. I would definitely recommend you as an instructor and would never recommend doing it the way I did but it shows with the right dedication and work ethic with the best demonstrations and practical advice we can achieve anything. If I can get this result without even sitting in the same car as you then you will get anyone to pass their tests with flying colours
I’ve gave up on learning in a manual car, my last instructor was too impatient with me, so I’m now going automatic, but still watch these to help. Thank you.
@@angb1672 I wouldn't say that they're more convenient as they cost more, and if you go on holiday and rent a car you wouldn't be able to drive a manual
Hi...I passed my driving test today from the first time., these videos really helped me. Thank you very much for posting these videos. Your are the best.
This remembers me of my first auto exam, I failed in a few minutes because the examinating police officer was terrible, at the first engine stall he yelled at me "Turn on the engine!" and the story continued until I stalled the 5th time, he told me the exam was over and I was trully panicated because of him! It took me some time after to calm down!
Literally was told all this by my instructor yesterday, just cause I come up on the clutch too quick and stall a lot.. At least I know now that I have a good instructor. Thank you for the vid and the refresher :)
This happened on my test last year! I misjudged how steep the slope I was on as at the top was a roundabout so I was focusing on the traffic to my right and stalled it. Took the rest of my test assuming I'd failed only to be told I passed with only 5 minors.
Hi! I'd like to say thank you for your contribution in my success of getting my driving licence. I am bilingual and I subscribed to your channel to learn more aside what I am taught here. Best regards from France.
Hi I just wanted to you know that this channel is absolutely great. It's really helpful but can you do a video on how to slow down from 40 miles road to a left turn?
@@poppy7773 Release clutch very slowly in 1st gear. Not as slow in 2nd. Even quicker in 3rd and so on. You’ll get used to it eventually. Takes a long time well for me it did.
Hi Chris, thank you for your informative video, I have been watching the videos more than 2 years now and I would like to do a mock test with you because I think I am test ready.
These videos car stalls immediately when it moved from 3rd or 2nd from stop . But some car moves far and stall. Why its so . Even experienced driver stalls car with 50 years. Is it dangerous of driving manual car. Because its happens whatever the experience. These developed me anxiety. Please help to cure these
I stalled and failed my test because I was slowly going forward at a t junction and raised it to quickly and stalled on the presdation crossing when it turned red
i stalled multiple times as I had to give pass to another car on incline with inches of difference between us even our rvm hit each other, had to be vary vary careful drive slowly also not stop due to incline so afraid to give gas , gasoline cars are headache in hills
Why do you stall? And to prevent it. No gas when moving off or not enough. Lifting the clutch up too fast. Wrong gear for the conditions and scenario. Stopping the car without pressing the clutch
Do you think its okay for a learner driver to take lessons far away from their official test area? I am going university and I'm not sure if I should take lessons there or if I should come back home frequently to learn with my regular instructor. I'll also be using my home instructors car for the official test so is it best to stick with him so I can get used to the car so therefore come home frequently...or should I save the hassle and take lessons near uni. My main concern is getting used to the car and the controls for my official test which I may not be able to do as much if I took lessons near my uni. Sorry for the long message any help will be grateful. Thankss🙂
Hi can you tell me why my car keeps rolling forward or backwards before moving off.. like when am parking I tend to release the clutch slowly because I am trying to go slow when parking but the car goes forward if I’m going back... please explain I got Vauxhall corsa 1.2
It sounds like you're raising the clutch to the biting point too slowly and gravity is making you roll. Practice finding the biting point with the handbrake on so that you can get used to where it is.

what if you stall on crowded places like heavy traffic etc..
If you restart the car quickly and safely without delaying traffic behind then you might not get any faults.

Is it important to take your offical driving test in the car you have been having lessons in?
Hi! Here is the official info...
You can take your driving test in your own car rather than your driving instructor’s if it meets certain rules.
Your test will be cancelled and you’ll have to pay again if your car does not meet the rules.
Rules about the car
Your car must:
be taxed
be insured for a driving test (check with your insurance company)
be roadworthy and have a current MOT (if it’s over 3 years old)
have no warning lights showing, for example, the airbag warning light
have no tyre damage and the legal tread depth on each tyre - you cannot have a space-saver spare tyre fitted
be smoke-free - this means you cannot smoke in it just before or during the test
be able to reach at least 62mph and have an mph speedometer
have 4 wheels and a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of no more than 3,500 kg
The MAM is the limit on how much the car can weigh when it’s loaded. It’ll be in the car’s handbook.

L-plates (‘L’ or ‘D’ plates in Wales) on the front and rear
a passenger seatbelt for the examiner and a proper passenger head restraint (not a slip-on type)
Dashcams and other cameras
You can use a camera fitted for insurance purposes, as long as it:
faces outside of the car and does not film the inside
does not record audio from inside the car
Manual and automatic cars
You can take the test in a:
manual car - these have 3 pedals
automatic or semi-automatic car - these have 2 pedals
If you take your test in a semi-automatic car you’ll only be able to drive automatic and semi-automatic cars once you’ve passed your test.
Hire cars
You can take your test in a hire car if it’s fitted with dual controls and meets all the other rules.
Vehicle features
You can use a car with:
an electronic parking brake
hill-start assist
Cars you cannot use
Some cars cannot be used in the test because they do not give the examiner all-round vision.
You cannot use any of the following:
