Hi Jo. I love your hair. I am planning to transition form henna by adding more and more cassia. any suggestions? why didn't it work for you? why did you have to cut your hair? your hair looks great but i just dont want to cut mine...

Aw thank you! The reason I cut my hair mostly just comes down to laziness... lol. I really hated the look of my roots growing out, but I also didn't 't want to take the time to touch it up every week or two with the progressively lighter blend (part of the reason I decided to go back to my natural color in the first place). The blonde showed really bad compared to the red (looked really gray), and with it being so long it would always look streaky and greasy in the back, even when it was freshly washed. When I cut it, my hair was so much lighter, which allowed it to have a lot more volume, which actually gave me a really cool look as it grew out! I still used a cassia/henna blend for the first month or so, just to avoid a harsh line, but I was able to get away with longer times between applications since I didn't have my hair pulled back against my head. So I guess long story short, if you keep on top of touching it up with the cassia mix, keeping it long should work just fine! Just keep it trimmed to the length you want it and every time you'll have a little less red. For me, I was just too impatient to deal with the weekly hassle. Good luck!

Thank you! It's a little smaller than we're used to, but it just adds SO much to the house! (not to mention it cuts SO much off our electric bill... lol)
