Id like to see if a 'silent' dog whistle will call foxes in. To date I haven't found a 'silent' one, most seem to make as much noise as a normal whistle.

I know there's nothing new about the tenterfeild now. Lots of them out there. However, this guy copied the silvafox whistle exactly as it has a raspy tone unlike lots of others. He actually got hold of a silva to copy. No patent on the silva as far as I know
After nearly a hundred years a patent would be well out of date no matter who, or if, anyone was ever granted one. So anybody who wants to copy is entirely free to do so, although it would be polite to give credit where it is due.
Hardly, the design can be found in a 1919 American book for boys, and it is certainly older than that. Who ever had the patent, if there ever was one, has no claim now.
Looks good!!! I've tried/bought a couple on the market and this looks very robust, I think I need to add one to my kit!!!!
We call them the Tenterfield Fox Whistle and make them from a jam tin lid, using a hammer and a 3" nail. Great bit of kit.
