  • Yes, you can actually cook on it. Also I’ll show you a stainless steel container and a teaspoon works perfectly to load pellets without snuffing out the flame.

      @@bobbygflYou’re welcome squire. I’m thinking about making my own heat deflector plate, since I’m too stingy to buy the official one. Looking at yours I’m leaning towards reforming a wok,and drilling some holes in it, or maybe getting an old cymbal from a drum kit and reforming slightly. I could for, one from scratch, but materials are so damn expensive I’m loathe to bother.

    Thank you for a great video! Tip for those that have the Mesa and the Mesa XL and want to safely use it like a camp stove... You can purchase the "cooking ring replacement" ring from Solo (5.1in) for the Mesa and (7in.) to use on the Mesa XL. Wait for the flame to burn down to embers to cook. If you drown out your fire from adding too many pellets and you smoke yourself out just relight and the heavy smoke stops immediately.

      Thanks for the info! That’s a great tip. I had no idea they made a cooking specific ring.

      @bobbygfl The cooking ring is made specifically for the Solo Campfire and the Titan camp stoves but are the exact rim sizes as the Mesa and the Mesa XL.

    Thay deflector is stable enough to put a frying pan on it?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  2 месяца назад

      Yes, and no. Is it completely safe probably not. Did the frying pan fall? No. So be reckless at your own risk lol!

      Why did you have to reveal to the world how ghetto you are?

      @@ezrad5273that’s not ghetto, it’s just the wrong tool for the job. My first stove was a soup can alcohol stove, a bent license plate as a wind deflector and a dog bowl that sits on the license plate lol worked like a charm for free

    isn't it too hot around the stove when the deflector is on?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  5 месяцев назад

      No not really. Not hot enough to not be able to scoop more pellets in anyway.
