I love hearing these stories and seeing how all these old time wrestlers are having such an impact with younger talent and helping them improve like some have.
I remember being about 6years old, and watching the opening scene in "HIGHLANDER", and before the camera ZOOMS in to show a brooding Connor McCloud (or however you spell it), there is a shot of Michael Hayes shaking his ass and taunting his opponents......

What a great episode, about one half of one of the greatest tag teams ever and in history, The Fabulous Freebirds vs The Von Erichs and the 4 horsemen are epic Classic that no tag teams can touch today from any pro wrestling organizations.

This episode you can say quality not quantity. Wasn't 3 hours long but Damn it delivered in one hour and thirty minutes.
I didn't catch a bad case of the giggles until "He about killed me in a Ruby Tuesdays once". Something about the thought of Michael Hayes giving poor ol' Conrad a hard time at a Ruby fucking Tuesdays did me in. A+ episode you magnificent bastards!
Love P.S. Hayes. Not a great worker but dripping charisma. This makes me wanna watch WCCW and WCW but I am rewatching Wrestlemanias.
Wrestling is part of the working my friend. Most moves are worked. Hayes' charisma in promos and such compelled the fans to drop money. God bless.

This was a nice distraction from the Wrestlemania hell for Bruce that he is currently in. Michael PS Hayes is a character that left his mark in the business that is for sure. I think he saw himself and Terry more in Matt and Jeff cause they were over with the fans like The Freebirds were over in Texas. Still crazy the hardy boys went from Hayes to Terri Runnels. I should have known when I saw Jeff jumping over the crazy shit that Hayes was the one who came up with it.

As much as I love this show, I think the fact that they didn't cover Michael Hayes nearly getting fired over his N word incident with Mark Henry is a bit of a cop out. I was waiting for it to come up and came on here to see if any one had commented on it.

Michael & JYD were the Main Event @ The Superdome back when Michael was about 21 years old & the other thing about that is that Andre & Hogan went up against eachother as an undercard match on that same card. The "Rumor & Innuendo" is that Andre & Hogan got booed because the match was so bad. Pretty Crazy.
I'm pretty sure Hillbilly Jim was the one who got the best reaction at the Gimmick Battle Royal not Hayes. The entire crowd came alive, stood up and started clapping their hands. Even Jim was surprised. You could see it in his face. However the crowd came back down when the next person after Hillbilly Jim came out..... which was Brother Love. You can see people laughing as well and of course, there was that "You Suck" sign when Brother Love was walking down the ramp. Sorry Bruce. xD
I agree with you. I was waiting for them to mention Hillbilly Jim during last week's episode when they talked about who got the biggest reactions during the gimmick battle royal. It was Hillbilly Jim by a mile. I mean who doesn't love "Don't go Messin' With a Country Boy"?!
@@brandonh9557 It absolutely was and Meltzer was shitting on so many of them by saying that many of them got no reactions because they never had reactions even in their prime. What the hell? Most of them were over and got great reactions in their prime. Doink The Clown had one of the best reactions in this and they booed Kamala out of the building when he eliminated Doink. They cheered for Slaughter when he eliminated Kamala so the crowd wasn't dead during this. The Bushwhackers, Sgt. Slaughter, Doink The Clown, Micheal Hayes, Mean Gene and Hillbilly Jim had the best reactions from the crowd by far.
@@pikkon899 The entrances were the best part since the match was designed to be over in 3 minutes... I was also hoping last week that Bruce would discuss facing off with Cornette. Jim Cornette has said that he and Bruce planned to stay in the corner, working with one another, so they didn't get hurt. They wound up potatoing each other. LOL.

Bobby Heenan was on point and I loved his reference to WCW by calling Mean Gene "Tony" Jim Ross was laughing and his one liners were great especially with Sgt. Slaughter...

Hey guys, it was a pretty good episode. But y'all usually hit all the rumors and innuendos or at least the obvious ones. And there's an obvious one that y'all missed. Mark Henry. True or not. And I know Bruce and Mark are both a part of the company. But why do the show of its going to be watered down? By the way you're my favorite podcast. 83 weeks close second whw closed 3rd. Really has helped me through hard times. Love you guys
I missed this comment skimming through the first time. I wanted to see if anyone brought this up. I posted about it too. I feel like it was a cop out for them not to discuss it. It's definitely a true story. Michael Hayes talked about it on Legends with JBL on the network.
