This just made me cry. Because it’s exactly what I’ve been trough since my sexual abuse a year ago. I used to be a size 2 and hit the gym 5 days a week; after the incident I gained 20 pounds. The reason for that was this one sentence that the rapist said: ‘Wow, I could feel every bone of your body.’
But me gaining weight didn’t decrease other men’s attention; it just made me depressed, anxious and suicidal.
The fact that I still get immediate panic attack’s as soon as a male approaches me in public (I even feel ridiculously uncomfortable and anxious if men just use the treadmill next to me at the gym) made me realize something:
Self-destruction won’t help, but professional help will.
To every woman out there who had to deal with any form of abuse: you’re not alone. Opening up about it is scary but necessary in order to get the control about your life back. Please seek help ❤️

  • @sonjadf47

He’s exactly right. If you spend most of your life jumping from one relationship to the next without purpose, by the time you’re in your 50’s and 60’s, your options are nonexistent and you go back to ex’s, if they are available, and you start the process all over again. You will never find love because deep down inside, relationships are just a matter of convenience and love has never been you’re objective and never will be. Yet, you break hearts over and over again while you’re on the your path of self-destruction. If you don’t desire love, stay out of exclusive or committed relationships, period. Until you can be HONEST with yourself and face your problems in a REAL way, you do not need to even date. It’s okay to play with toys. It’s not okay to play with other people’s hearts.

Women making themselves less desirable because they don't want attention is true. I can contest to that. While going through my divorce, I shaved my head bald so men wouldn't find me attractive and I was broken/dealing with esteem issues. I didn't want anything to do with a man. To my surprise, I got more attention from men. They found me very beautiful. So that failed lol

I have went through a lot of emotional turmoil in my life and many times the attention made me uncomfortable. So gaining weight, dressing super casually, limited makeup or trying to look good really has been a layer of protection for me at times in my life. Not every woman wants a man to make a bunch of money... I don’t care as long as they’re not coming with a bunch of walls up and inner self sabotaging beliefs. Money is just an expression of everything you currently have done and the beliefs you lived out to this point. It changes bc anyone can live out their best lives at any time they want to.
I love what you said about what you bring to the table and how you show you up -and also a connection where 2 people keep being their best each other.
Thank you for also saying healed and happy people are not going to play games or be hurtful. Hurt people hurt people-it’s just the frequency they are on.

I think this frame of mentality is disillusioned. I’m sorry but as a modern woman in today’s society ( Los angeles dating) Financial stability is top 5 in the dating criteria. I don’t make a “bunch” of $ but i am in a position where I am blessed to pay for shelter for myself and my child, pay for essentials and small joys, and in LA that’s something hard to come by I know ppl who are still in their late 30s who share a family line with their parents and still live with their families with barely any savings in their accts. I’m not saying I’m better than them but when I got out on dates to try and find a partner, I want to know that the man I want to invest my time and efforts and emotional energy on CAN and if willing be a level that I can trust to support himself and if we grow together eventually can support our future family. Which in LA is pretty expensive not saying I won’t contribute to that lifestyle but I want to know that he is able to sustain a livable wage for his children/more children etc. So yes there is the factor of connecting and mutual values but that why it’s so hard to find someone with ALL these qualities. I don’t want to bash your comment I just don’t want young woman out there just thinking that they should find only a emotional connection with someone but bypass the $ part, bc there are LOTS of men out there who pretend to be there for you but then turn around and suck your pockets dry. And I want to warn woman who are lonely and are willing to give and give but then cry when those men take advantage of them financially and run off as soon as they get a chance. I’ve seen it done and i’m not the one. You gotta think about your children and your future children before your hearts needs. Sorry for the rant. Much love and Good luck all the singles out there! Date smarter not harder! 🤞💕💕

Always a pleasure to see Mr. LAbossiere :-) Spitting gems as always. I will definitely watch this at least 2 more times as I'm sure I will continue to take something new away each time. I love when you spoke on coming to the "table" prepared to meet what you are asking for. Don't be asking for a steak when you're only serving McDonald's. Also, I agree with the double standards that exist for men, however it does go both ways. Any chance I get I tell people to focus on being their best versions of themselves. It's the most rewarding experiences you will ever have in life. Becoming my "best self" has uncovered blessings beyond anything I could have imagined for myself. It's extremely freeing to be apologetically you. Congrats on #100. Looking forward to more great work from you both! Much love from Toronto, Ontario (Canada)

Doing God's will that's what makes you a man or a woman >spiritually , mentally and physically.
Attraction is what gets the person. Your character is what keeps the person. The body ages everyday but your character doesn't. If a person does not fear God you are wasting your time. (Read proverbs 31:30 )To have a wife who is attractive to look at is nice, but the very best you can do is to have a wife who fears God and keeps His commandments; and she will have all of these other things as an extra.
True holiness and virtue command permanent respect and affection, far more than charm and beauty of face and form
YOU ARE WHO YOU ATTRACT TO. BE HOLY SO YOU CAN ATTRACT HOLLY. 1 PETER 1:16 FOR IT IS WRITTEN: "BE HOLY, BECAUSE I AM HOLY."

There were several things that helped me to enjoy the previous episode with Stephan. Number one was the impact that his insights were making on the two of you. Seeing your responses implies that people are unaware and maybe even oblivious to spiritual, physical, emotional, etc. affects of the things Stephan spoke about. Also I feel that the depth of inquisitive questions proposed by the roommates, greatly encouraged a transparent conversation. Again it was very well accepted by men and women because there was no attack on either sex, but just pure, passionate, sincere wisdom shared by a man who is obviously gifted with the understanding of purpose, self control and true love. Finally, it is impressive to see how Stephan's maturity and wisdom is having an effect on the roommates. Personally, I can recieve the message presented by Stephan because of his confident nature. His posture, tone, and autonomous powerful message. Thank you for the guidance, leadership and encouraging expertise! Your sharing prompted me caring, and I shared that video with all of my friends and loved ones. I'm looking for to reading all of your books Mr. Labossiere. So much of what was discussed in this podcast interview (and the previous esp) is so on point. I find it so insightful to hear the male perspective of love, heartache, relationships, etc. Thanks qualifying your statement around 1:21 mark about women taking responsibility for their shortcomings that contributed to the failure of a relationship. Self awareness is essential to growth and development.
When I went though a breakup, I had to have a heart to heart with my mom and share with her my shortcomings that contributed to the breakup. Prior to that discussion, in her mind, I was an innocent victim and he was painted as the “villain”. But in my situation, that wasn’t the case and out of respect for the man that he is, I had to speak up and let it be known.
