Despite the fluctuating Frame Rate it still a great looking game and best F1 Series on the Dreamcast. It's a game that aims 60 fps, but has to many drops on real console. It will be better if the fps was capped in 30 fps. Some tracks performs better than others and the definitive version is the F1 World Grand Prix 2, launched in the end of 2000, with 1999 season license. There's 2 wrong miths about this game: 1. It's not a port from the N64 or PS1/PC versions. It was made from scratch by Video System themselves with Dreamcast in mind, with all the support from Sega (that published the first game). It's almost a first party game. It's not a coincidence that is called F1 World Grand Prix FOR THE DREAMCAST, in a attempt to alert people that it's not a port. 2. It's not run in 30 fps. It aims 60 fps but has to many drops on a real Dreamcast in some events like the start of the race or in bigger tracks (like Spa). But it achieves 60 fps (or fluctuate ABOVE 30 fps) most of the time.
Dreamcast with the Hd cable still look fuckin awesome, theirs just something about the system and style that cant be replicated,and some select amazing games will hold there own just across the board graphically/technically/sound/style all time, Examples include Shenmue 1 and 2 of course, those games will literally never not look great, street fighters and marvel vs capcom snk ports etc but that's a given those are sprites and Neo Geo graphics and have looked great and detailed on basically the same engine for some 30 years or so now, then ya got Dead or alive 2 and Soul caliber they hold there own right now when looking there best with the vga cable or whatever its called on a good TV/monitor,Test Drive Le mans 24 hour racing still looks fantastic to.Tennis 2k games,any 2k sports game really still looks very good on Dreamcast with vga/HD.

This is being played via emulation, and is probably the way to play it. On the Dreamcast the frame rate drops down into single figures regularly.

Are you playing the PAL or JP version?
Andy Barrett this looks like an NTSC (either U or J). PAL games run at 50 fps, NTSC games run at 60 fps if im not mistaken
