  • Robert Whitlow Sr. has been riding for most his life, but always wanted a show bike built. Plans were made, parts were gathered and the final product is “Big Evel”. “I started out to build an old school chopper and it got out of hand! It's been three years in the making and I'm really tickled with what I got it.” Robert said. Big Evel turned out to be a hot rod running a 2005 H-D Twin Cam engine in a Santee frame painted to match the tins in Tangerine Orange painted by TC Cameron. The seat has an ornately hand tooled paisley design with the bikes name, “BIG EVEL” in matching Orange. The springer front end came off a 1997 Softail and was hand polished back to glory by Robert himself. The 21in inch spoke front wheel matches with the springer front end and 280mm 18inch spoke rear wheel finishes off Robert’s dream chopper. Robert had a lot of help getting his new ride put together from Evel Twins Motorcycle parts (owned by his son Rob Whitlow) who gathered a lot of the parts and Jaybirds Custom Cycles who built the engine. The bike got done spring of 2024 in time for bike show season. “I started off when I was about 11 years old on an old Simplex Servi-Cycle and I slowly graduated up the later to Harley’s, I’ve had about six of them now and I wouldn’t take a million dollars for this one, I really wouldn’t”, Robert said. Big Evel is a clean machine and we can’t wait to see it out there on the bike show circuit.
