Greetings Robert from Sydney Aust. Picked up my near mint x100F last week.Have been waiting 2-3 yeasrs before buying. The difference I have saved I have been able to buy accessories for it. Also it has the D Pad which is missing on he later models.

The EF-X20 is currently selling for $400 and under.
I also recommend the Godox TT350F

I agree. The Godox TT350F is a better option for the price and has High Speed Sync.

One of the main reasons I went from the OG to the T was the ability to transfer files .

Excellent analysis! The Godox X3 trigger release made me think of you and shooting with the X100 since it won't weigh down the camera.

Absolutely. I use all Godox Strobes and triggers. They work great throughout the camera brands. Cheers.

Excellent video, thank you. I very much like your work. I have an x100f. Mostly I use the advanced filter Dynamic Tone because I like the extreme effect which it produces. Sometimes I leave the image as it is (other than tuning in Mac Preview and/or Photos). Sometimes I change it to B&W, again in Photos. A couple of questions. 1. Do you know what Dynamic Tone does to the image. 2. You referred to upscaling apps. Would it be worth your while doing a video on these?

Range finder not an SLR ?

    • @RobertHamm
      @RobertHamm  4 месяца назад

Absolutely. Considering size, weight, and built in functions, the X100 series packas in a serious punch that a DSLR can match, but not supercede except for telephoto.
Telephoto isn't something most people use. So that one advantage is negated.
With that out of the way, the X100 series brings a leaf shutter, flash sync at ANY shutter speed, a build in ND filter, an optical viewfinder, and community lauded film simulations and in camera processing options. We didn't even talk about how good the camera looks. There's a reason everybody wants them- it's sexy. It's a fashion statement. It's a statement of power, and one of money and exclusion. There is a lot going on with the Fujifilm x100 series, and Fujifilm deserves it. They have built this over 12 years or more.
You most definitely could buy cheaper cameras, but cameras that have similar specs like the Rico series have handling concerns because they're so small.
When you look at some of canons small point and shoots, the G9 series stuff like that, they have a smaller sensor and also smaller controls so handling is an issue. Also The shutter speed on it with flash sync is only up to 1/2000 of a second.
But more importantly, you don't have to agree with me. You can go shoot whatever you want, and that's the beauty of an opinion. However, for the people that are interested in the x100Vi, this video is especially important. I'm telling you right now, although you're getting appreciable upgrades with the sixth generation, there's no need to spend that cash. Like you don't have to break the bank to get the premium features from the x 100 series. I think the epitome of the x100 series of cameras is currently the F variant.
The X100F gives you all the great features, with an excellent processor, and a megapixel size that just works at a good price. That's my point with this video. And, I would take my X100F to any professional gig. I'm a real wedding photographer. I've been doing this for over 15 years. Go to my website. You can see all kinds of photos. I use the X100F, and the power of the leave shutter and high flash sink, and get just amazing images. I mean you saw them. You just saw beautiful shots. The results speak for themselves. Cheers.

@@RobertHamm I don't want a fashion statement but a telephoto would be nice for animals, birds and racing photos.

I recognize your point, but you chose to focus in on my statement about the x100 series being a status/fashion statement. What was the point of that?
I've photographed for many owners of hotrods for shows like street outlaws and found the leaf shutter, ND filter, and high flash sync speed to be very important. Take a wild guess at the camera I often choose? Yup. The X100f. It's not the only camera I choose, but with all the features, it makes the shoot very simple.
Of course a telephoto lens is helpful for when you need to get close but most people aren't shooting NASCAR or birding. Those are niches where a small fixed lens rangefinder style camera won't be helpful. So, use a different tool.
      Cheers.

No.. they are more like 900 to 1k used. You can still buy them new old stock but there's no point to that as you could just get the V at the same price.
