    For anyone attempting to build a Semental Retaining wall, please listen to and observe what Phil explained and outlined regarding the placement of Geo-Grid and how it works. Probably the best explanation I have seen on RUclips. I have seen a few amateur professionals and homeowners wrongly interpreting how to build a wall, install Geo-Grid, compaction etc. and they document it on RUclips. These videos should be titled "How Not To Build a Retaining Wall".

      Thank you very much! This makes us think we should make a separate video just focusing on building a segmental retaining wall. Your feedback is valued. Have a nice day!

    Fantastic explanation of Phi angle and how Geogrid helps. Best video Ive seen on this topic.

    Glad i came across this explanation, in the middle of nowhere and a diy wall of around 5 foot will be made to elevate a property that sits in a 100 year flood plain. Every bit of professional explanation goes a long way...now to watch a few more of your videos 👌🏼

    I learned something new and very useful today: phi angle/angle of repose.
    Thank you!

    I’m so glad I came across your video. We’re developing a lakefront property with a very steep bank. Watching this will give me a good idea what the contractor should be doing.

      We are so happy that you enjoyed and found the information useful. Goodluck with the property and the retaining wall on that steep bank! Make sure it's done right and reviewed by an engineer!

    Would have loved to have a warning about rolling out grid that is not biaxial. Many can get into trouble having the grid facing the wrong way.

      @PaverToolInnovators  Год назад +2

      Yes it is important to not roll out uniaxial grid down the wall as it would not be structural in this orientation. Appreciate the comment!

    That is an awesome video, is there a way to do a video on how/where it is installed in a paver patio application?

    • @PaverToolInnovators
      @PaverToolInnovators  Год назад

      Thanks! This project is a raised parking spot/patio so this area was filled in with pavers and designed to be driven on. The grogrid is designed to not only stabilize the stone behind the wall but also to stabilize the area as a whole for driving on.

    What happens if the soil is expansive & adjoining water ?

    Residential buildings can be built using the geogrid foundation method??

    How about Nonwoven geotextile to separate the dirt from the stone?

    • @PaverToolInnovators
      @PaverToolInnovators  Год назад +1

      I certainly am not opposed to using a nonwoven fabric for soil separation. We prefer the woven because it has a little more structural strength. People think water does not penetrate the woven but point loading from your 3/4in clean stone will puncture the woven and allow permeability. Please don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions.

    do you need Geogrid for a 40-inch retaining wall? (height) or at what height do you need one?

    • @PaverToolInnovators
      @PaverToolInnovators  5 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly, you should check with an engineer on your specific project specifications due to soil stability, weight bearing factors, and a whole lot more. Thanks for watching and goodluck!

    That's not the way to place it, you're putting it across, it's backwards.

      Please watch the full video which explains the application of bi-axial geogrid meaning it has strength in both directions.
