Sept '23 I was in the Pyrenees in similar winds at the top of a ridge. I was sure people in the valley could hear the screams of laughter from the lunatic on the hill. The wind was ridiculous and there was minimal sleep that night; but, oh boy what crazy fun! One point about your boots - I always keep my boots at the foot of the mattress under a portion of the quilt to keep them warm. There's nothing like marching down the trail in the morning on two blocks of ice! Also, the more you try to cram into your boot the less blood circulation you have, and the colder your feet get. Great video once again!
That's definitely an experience to remember. I'm delighted to hear you had a good laugh about it 🙂 Thanks for the advice and I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year 🍀🎄
Another great video but my heart sank when you said your boots were snug. Here comes nag number two from Canada. Those items you were reviewing might still do the job but you need room (air) in your boots if your feet get cold. My going to town boots fit my feet but my working outside boots are a whole size too large. Along with the wool socks my feet😊 stay warm that way. I'm glad you didn't get rattled with the surprise wind. Beautiful filming by the way.
I'll have to see what they're like when I get some decent socks. I've ordered thin merino socks and I'll get some thick socks so hopefully there will be enough space in the boot. The boots are only snug because of all the bits I was trying to cram into them 😄 It's definitely got me thinking so if they're too tight with the socks I'll have to get a bigger pair of boots
Found your channel earlier this month and binge watched all your stuff. Keep the laugh going, the tea flowing and have a great festive end of the year!
4:05 Well, it's not like we didn't see how that one was going to play out! The Tea Bag put in pride of place in the tent pouch, ready for quick access in emergencies, classic! 🤣 Great camp Jason, thanks for taking us along 🖖
It really did, if it had failed I wouldn't have been annoyed because the pitch wasn't the best. Thanks a million, I hope you and yours have a lovely christmas and very happy and healthy new year. I really hope that 2025 is a good year all round 🤞🎄🎅
yea, I can’t get a fire steel to work with the featherlight stove either. If ya put a bit of cotton ball or something flammable on top it works, but lately I have just been putting a lit match on top.
Happy Christmas to you and the family Jason. Great video and congratulations on finishing the year on a high after all you have been through. Well done mate and best wishes for 2025 🎉🍾👍🤗
Excellent video Jason. I've just returned from a very wet night on a wee beach at Loch Lomond. I used a second hand tent that I bought a few weeks ago and unfortunately it badly needs waterproofing. What a Diddy. Hope you and the family have a great Christmas and a prosperous New year. 👍 😂❤
I never would have thought to waterproof a tent. I hope you enjoyed the night nonetheless... Thanks a mill, Happy Christmas and a very happy new year to you too🎅🎄
Anther brilliant video, mate. Man, it was really blowing the dog off the chain in the morning. You are a wise man waiting for daylight to head down. I have the two person version of that Durston tent and it looked like yours could have benefited from being turned 90 degrees so the wind hits along the axis. Of course, you would have had to predict the wind direction ahead of time😂. Cheers and have a Happy Christmas.
Oh yeah you can never really judge it, I've had the wind completely change direction on my camps. I just pitch it and hope for the best 😄Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
Well it certainly made for an entertaining video! Hope you still enjoyed your day off - Have toyed with deep winter camping for a while so these vids are great! A very merry christmas to you and the family mate. Looking forward to more of your videos in the new year 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Another great video and enjoyed that. I liked your chat about building up experience on the way to doing harder and harder stuff. I always say it's an apprenticeship and you must learn the basic skills and work your way up in whatever you are doing in life but especially the outdoors. I often see people trying to do higher level stuff before the easy stuff and that could give problems. Gradually extend your comfort zone as you said. Also interesting as I have an X mid1 although I haven't had it exposed to that level of wind yet. Previous tents have 😂 Have a great Christmas and look forward to more videos next year.
Oh yeah I think it's important, I heard of a chap who got lost on that mountain only last week. He was out for a hike and the fog came down. He ended up spending the night up there. He got himself down the next morning but mountain rescue were out looking for him all night. It's easy to underestimate how easy it is to get into a dodgy situation. Thanks a mill for watching the videos, I hope you have a Happy Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year🎅🎄
Great video Jason, just took a break from Christmas Eve prep/madness to take a look. Back to it now, have a great Christmas, you and your family and thanks for all the videos throughout the year, may the new year bring many more.
I loved that Jason! Brilliant. A really practical video of how to camp in wild wintery weather. Superb. I always think my tent is collapsing in wind like that then I get out and everything is intact! Your tent really stood up to the beating and you were right to stay there in the dark and not try to get down in the cloud and frost. Loved this Jason.
Thanks a million Alyn, I was delighted to be able to stay until it got bright. Hopefully there will be a lot more camps for all of us in 2025 🤞I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year 🎅🎄
Superb video Jason! If you watch Abel & Victoria, she used some kind of special floodwarmer insoles from their camp store (N Zealand). Nothing worse than cold feet!! Hope you and your family have a brilliant Christmas & look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Good luck 🍀
What a great video Jason. Thanks very much for all the laughs and great content throughout 2024. Here’s to 2025 and another year of watching your adventures. Keep up the great work and happy Christmas to you and your family. Jim, Ruairi and Finn
Thanks a million for watching the videos, I'm delighted that you enjoy them. I hope yourself, Ruairi and Finn have a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year 🎅🎄
You should get some down booties and some montane hut boots they have a hard sole so ok for quick nips out the tent to check guy lines and things I've worn them on snow and they were great. Not sure how much the softies weigh but the down pants from nature hike are very light and very warm.
I've seen those naturehike ones, I might get them if I really want to get the pack weight down but for now I'm really happy with the softies. They weigh about 500g for the large size. I was looking at similar booties so we'll see what I end up with. Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
When the dragons breath rolls in over the land & nature offers such beauty.👌 As a pointer, always lock the Opinal or it will slice your hand when it closes up, a very valuable school boy error I made once. It's not the fire steel matey, it's because the fuel is cold.
The feelings that anxiety gives you are similar to the feelings of excitement and so, sometimes you can 'kid' yourself that you are not anxious but 'excited' instead - it is just a 'brain game' to convince yourself and it might be worth a try.
cool, a pre christmas present of a video from you, great to see both the calm before and the storm after. Nothing better than spending 30 minutes just looking out into the starry sky. Hope yo have a great Xmas and looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2025
Your videos are so informative, such sound advice to anyone considering such harsh conditions, fair play you're a tough cookie 😂. Hope you have a great Christmas!
Cracking video. Fair play to you Jason, you kept your cool and dealt with those winds. I always take a lightweight bivvy with me just in case I need to drop the tent and hunker down on top of it. Saves destroying your tent and you're still nice and warm. Luckily I've never needed to so far but had a couple of close calls. Merry Xmas!
Just subbed. This video was awesome. I’m a Dub/Wicklow blow in who knows the mountains very well. Lug is very unforgiving. Look forward to watching more of your stuff.
brave man camping in high winds....nothing beats the crazy norwegian guy having fun in minus 40 temps with his tent having wall to wall snow with high winds though. he told me he was having fun! clothing that keeps me warm -jack wolf skin two layer jacket -ice breaker merino wool layers -smart wool socks -mendtl goretex boots - raab two layered hat - rohan water proof trousers
Met Eireann not fit for purpose. I wild camp every week, year round in Ireland. Mostly in Wicklow, I was camped pretty close to you in that night. Mountain forecast is far better, as I learned the hard way. Durston a great trail tent, not for Irish winters or peaks😮 down booties are great, however proper winter boots will insulate you from the freezing ground. Direct contact even in good boots will cool your feet, quickly. Great video, keep up the fantastic work pal.
Thanks a mill Martin, I use Mountain forecast which was way off. It had said the wind was coming in around midday.. The windy app was the closest but said 6am not 3am. Either way it's best to just be prepared and take it as it comes. I'm looking up all sorts of boots so we'll see what happens. I don't really want to buy another pair of boots if I can avoid it. Thanks a mill, Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
Cheers Jason another cracking video that tent held up remarkably well. love the gear breakdown very useful will defo be checking out that Dutch army jacket 👍
@RamblingOn very true buddy. But, we can have fun here. Be a bit safer on your hikes when you got a rusty pitch fork on your pack mate! Be safe brother
Another great video Jason. Have a great Christmas you and the family 🎄 We be looking forward to loads of new videos in 2025 , I'm hoping to get out more myself next year.
Good video, good fun! If I was you I would put the tent way lower to the ground, shorten the poles to about 110-115cm I think it is, shorten the bottom guylines and use all of them. But I guess the ground was frozen and no stones around to bolt the pegs into ground properly so makes it tricky. I miss going out camping, hope I can manage to go next year😊
Awesome sunrise despite the conditions, almost makes it worth it! When it's windy if you drop the pole height to like 110-115 cm and put the pegs directly into the loops rather than attaching them by bungie it makes the tent a lot more stable in the wind, although in fairness the forecast was wrong (isn't it always in Ireland) so you hardly could have known.
I should have put some more effort into pitching the tent a bit lower. If I had known it would be that bad I would have brought my Hilleberg 😄 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
I’m going to winter camp this winter but…I’m going to pitch my tent in my backyard. I live in Western KS. If you have ever watched Little House on the Prairie western KS is the Prairie…no woods. To chicken to go to the lake by myself. Soo my backyard it is. That way if I get to cold or have to go to the bathroom I can just go in the house. If I forget any gear or get cold I can run in the house and get it. Great plan if you ask me!!
That does sound like a very good plan and you till get the experience of being out in your tent. I'm strongly considering getting a van to convert into a camper, imagine not having to carry everything you need 😮 It sounds very nice, I'd still do my usual camps too though. I hope you get out in your tent, maybe look into a hot tent too for even more comfort 🙂 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Windy indeed! Personally, I think I would've pitched my tent in some terrain cover. From my army days (our boots were only thin leather, but still very good): two pairs of socks; heaviest wool as outer pair. We used that summer AND winter - leaves plenty of air inside. Also: keep an extra pair inside jacket, to soak up body heat.
I've wated to spend a night on that summit for a very long time, there's nowhere to hide up there. Thanks a million for the advice, I've the thin socks ordered but I need to sort some proper thick wool socks. Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Another great video, great shots of the beautiful scenery. Good job by the tent and yourself, some huge high winds! Videography is just amazing, footage quality is superb. Have a merry Christmas to you and the family :) Looking forward to the next one! for now... going to watch some more of your other videos (My first comment as a member :) )
I was very impressed with the tent. When you're inside the tent with the surround sound of the wind howling up the mountain, all while the tent is being hit from all angles, it's very hard to do it justice on video 🤣 Im delighted that you're enjoying the videos and thanks a million for becoming a Channel Member. I'm hoping to be much more consistent in the new year with uploads 🤞 Happy Christmas to you and yours, have a good one 🎄🍀
Good afternoon Jason. Some good old fashioned heavy wool socks would probably keep your feet warm. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Stay safe and have fun.
i will need to watch this on the big tv with better sound too.. my phone dont do it justice. stay well. *🎄🎅 Merry Christmas 🙏💒* to you & yours & all who see this
Jason. Regards the issue of keeping the feet warm. It's different strokes for different folks. However, what works for me is a change of socks as you did. But I wear a single pair of merino wool socks. I wear Danish Endurance socks and they're great. Then I wear a pair of Rab Pertex synthetic down camp boots. I buy those pocket warmers you shake up to activate and throw one in the bottom of the sleeping bag. I use a Carinthia synthetic arctic bag. I make sure it's lofted in the foot box. I don't go to bed cold. I'll do some squats and press ups before bed. Enough to get warm but not too many as to then being too wired to relax and sleep. When down at around -5c I've made a hot water bottle out of a 1 litre nalgene bottle half filled with hot water. Couple of options there to try buddy.
I used the hot water bottle trick when I was getting into the tent. I now love that, it makes such a difference. Thanks for all the advice, I've a pair of merino liner socks ordered 😁 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Hi Jason…..with the foot socks issue, if your after nice warm tootsies , just put on a standard sock first, like a normal sock for wearing shoes, then a thick sock that your normally put on with wellington boots, so in other words two socks, one thin, one thick, thick on top. Your have nice cozy tootsies….😂😂 Brian
@@RamblingOn merry Christmas to you too Jason, and family, hope your sock idea works, I seem to stick with a lot of army techniques when it comes to camping, which I learnt from being in the YHA years ago, youth hostel association, great times and fun. …..Brian
Good man Jason, nice to see you out in Wicklow. Hope the weather holds up over Xmas and i might get out for a final 2024 camp!!! Ordered the 3FUL Taihang tunnel tent, as a companion for my Lanshan. Looking forward to it arriving in the New Year, my Xmas present to myself 😂. Happy Christmas and New Year to you. George
I've wanted to camp up there for a long time, but the weather was never good enough. Hopefully you can squeeze another camp in 🤞 The tent sounds cool. I haven't heard of it, but I'll be having a gander at it now in a minute. Happy Christmas, I hope you won't be working for it. Take her handy George and thanks a mill for everything over the year 👍 oh and good luck with the new tent 🍀
Another brilliant video Jason. The tent held up great. Where did you pick up the outer (Austrian Army??) outer shell jacket.? Looks good. Have a great Christmas and thank you for all the super videos this year.
Cheers Jason, if you'd seen the state of the way some of the pegs went in 🤣 I'm surprised it stayed standing even without the wind. The army jacket is actually for the Dutch army, I mistakenly said the Austrian army. Here's a link they're not in stock at the moment, but it's worth keeping an eye. Army surplus often comes in and out of stock. Mine is a supergrade and cost me €120 I think 🤔 armyworld.pl/product-eng-29899-Dutch-Waterproof-Jacket-Gore-Tex-Carinthia-MK2-Olive-Original-Used.html Happy Christmas, I hope you have a good one and thanks a mill for watching the videos and the support this year. Take her handy 🍀 🎄
Beautiful sunset and sunrise Jason. I laughed at the way you casually have a cup of tea and a biscuit in such trying circumstances. Not an ounce of panic. Anyway happy Christmas to you and a happy new year
Type II fun. Your boots are too tight for circulation and you just made the problem worse. Bivvy boots for camp. I use plastic bread bags held on by rubber bands over socks. Air insulates. Works for short night walks on snow but a bit slippy. Keep your boots IN the tent with you in a large strong plastic bag esp. in snow. Where I am small bitey critters get in, bigger ones carry them off. Double pegging saved you. Pegs work out and fly 20m in wind. Your tent and stuff is then immediately compromised. You can always take the tent down flat. Lighters are rubbish. Find matches that work. Small Trangia 27 with gas burner FTW.
Thanks a mill for all of your advice, I'm looking in to a few options. I'll get it figured out but the bivvy boots and decent socks are looking like the best idea. Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
I'm curious if you've ever done part or all of the Kerry Way, Jason? I've got a ticket to fly out end of July/1st week of August and curious if I'll have trouble finding big enough spots to pitch my Xmid-1? I've read that the wild camping can be tricky.
No I haven't but it's one that I'd love to do. I don't know anything about it to be honest but if or when I do it, I'll be camping along the way. Surely there'd be somewhere to pop a tent down
Another excellent video Jason, beautiful views. I’ve seen on another video of people using Down booties and they’ve given them good reviews. Maybe worth a go?. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Oh yeah I had a pair, I didn't find them to be that good but they were only a cheap pair to be fair. I must look into them again. Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Thanks for the video. I see you made some little improvement on the tent such as the hook to hold the outer doors. The magnets aren't that strong. I have also wondered if the bungee were a good idea but I guess they protect the tent and without them the tent may have suffered more. It is surely not the strongest but it is very practical and light and it does take on some wind !. What was the temperature. It seems sub brave man ! :)
Tat was one of he first things I did, I like having the lower tie out point pegs out and the magnet won't hold with it pegged. The temperatures were below freezing, the wind chill was supposedly -6 and I'd well believe it. Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
That wind was insane...kinda felt it in my bones lol! So in the winter, then, will you be using a hot tent and wood stove and pulling your gear in with a sled/toboggan if you've got a few feet of snow? My husband would like to know if you wild camp in Europe at all? Merry Christmas from 🇨🇦 !
I'll be carrying everything, we don't get enough snow for a sled/toboggan and even if we do it's wet snow. I do have a hot tent but whether I'll get to sue it or not is another thing. I'd like to keep heading out to the mountains if I can so we'll see what the weather has to say about it. It's mainly the road conditions that would be an issue when the weather gets really bad. I haven't camped in Europe, well on the continent but someday I will. I'd really like to get over to Scotland for a few camps but there's plenty more of Ireland to see 🙂 Thanks a million for watching all the videos. Happy Christmas to you and your husband, I hope you have a good one🎄🎅
Just in the tent! But they're so good. Pulling your booties on signals your brain that it's time to get cozy and sleep. Almost as good as a sip of something. And they replace the extra pair of wool socks that you save for sleeping. You'd love them. @@RamblingOn
@@RamblingOnHave a look at getting latex socks for putting on for moving about camp or popping out at night for a pee. They just pull on over your socks or even down booties.
Why don’t you buy 100% wool socks from one of those Irish woollen shop they are thick and warm…also buy pair of tin merino socks as a liner ( those thick woollen socks are itchy 😅 ) and you’re warm and cozy ✌️
I have the thin merino liner socks ordered. I just neve know which thick socks to buy. I need to go into a shop and have a proper look at them. Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Good morning Jason, can you please tell me the name of the stove set up, the wind shield and cooking equipment. In fact the whole setup if you would for boiling water. I can’t seem to find it on line. Thank you for all the videos and info you provided. I wait in anticipation for your next video. I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the next year. Be safe my friend. From Australia 🇦🇺
The stove is a featherlight 700, everything you see comes included apart from the tin foil 😄 There's a link in the video description for it. Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
@@RamblingOnThank you Jas, being 74 and 9 days old, I’m a bit slow. But I found it. This is exactly what I needed. How do I make it that you get something from me buying it.from watching your video? Cheers Rod.
Oh no it's not an affiliate link. Don't worry about me at all, I'm just happy that you're enjoying the videos. The guy who designed the stove is a camper based in Scotland. He did a fantastic job on it and has a youtube channel too ruclips.net/user/StripeyHatGuy
Hey brother, just asking. Are you Ireland, Ireland? Or northern Ireland, which I believe is part of England? Beautiful country by the way. Where ever you are chief.
Yeah you're spot on. Northern Ireland is part of the UK, I've camped up in the Mournes twice which is up north. I'm down in the Republic of Ireland also known as just Ireland, so most of my camps are in Ireland. There's plenty more of it to see so really I'm just getting started 😁 Thanks a mill for watching and Happy Christmas 🙌🎅
A proper 4 season tent like the hilleberg soulo would not cave in like that. The Durston is indeed a good lightweight tent, but it's not a tent for winds like that.
@RamblingOn you probably would be warmer with all the layers on your feet , and the boots off, some people use down filled slippers while stationery. Happy Christmas to you too.
Down booties Jason. You can't beat em. They're the job.
I'll definitely have to look into those, I have snugpack ones but they're not the best, Happy Christmas 🎄🎅

I've seen those naturehike ones, I might get them if I really want to get the pack weight down but for now I'm really happy with the softies. They weigh about 500g for the large size. I was looking at similar booties so we'll see what I end up with. Happy Christmas 🎅🎄

The feelings that anxiety gives you are similar to the feelings of excitement and so, sometimes you can 'kid' yourself that you are not anxious but 'excited' instead - it is just a 'brain game' to convince yourself and it might be worth a try.

Merry Xmas!
I've always thought of doing that as a back up. I need to get a lighter bivy bag I reckon, it would be nice to have it. Happy Christmas 🎅🎄

brave man camping in high winds....nothing beats the crazy norwegian guy having fun in minus 40 temps with his tent having wall to wall snow with high winds though. he told me he was having fun!
clothing that keeps me warm
-jack wolf skin two layer jacket
-ice breaker merino wool layers
-smart wool socks
-mendtl goretex boots

It’s just a bit of wind! On the bright side your tent will be all dried before heading down. 😀

Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Good video, good fun! If I was you I would put the tent way lower to the ground, shorten the poles to about 110-115cm I think it is, shorten the bottom guylines and use all of them.
But I guess the ground was frozen and no stones around to bolt the pegs into ground properly so makes it tricky.
I miss going out camping, hope I can manage to go next year😊
I definitely could have dropped the tent a little but it held well. Hopefully you'll get out for a few camps 🤞 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
@@RamblingOn Happy X-Mass to you also and with family!🎄🎁🎆
Enjoying the videos, use to enjoy a fair bit of camping bk in the day .Hope you have a lovely christmas and new yr

By the way good job rising above the anxiety.
Thank you 🙌🍀
Merry Christmas and happy new year ❤❤🎅🎅
Happy Christmas Alan and happy New Year 🙌🎅
I’m going to winter camp this winter but…I’m going to pitch my tent in my backyard.

Looking forward to the next one! for now... going to watch some more of your other videos (My first comment as a member :) )
I was very impressed with the tent. When you're inside the tent with the surround sound of the wind howling up the mountain, all while the tent is being hit from all angles, it's very hard to do it justice on video 🤣

I've since bought a merino liner sock. If that doesn't sort it I just give up 😄 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
@@RamblingOn merry Christmas to you too Jason, and family, hope your sock idea works, I seem to stick with a lot of army techniques when it comes to camping, which I learnt from being in the YHA years ago, youth hostel association, great times and fun. …..Brian

Mine is a supergrade and cost me €120 I think 🤔 armyworld.pl/product-eng-29899-Dutch-Waterproof-Jacket-Gore-Tex-Carinthia-MK2-Olive-Original-Used.html

Beautiful sunset and sunrise Jason. I laughed at the way you casually have a cup of tea and a biscuit in such trying circumstances. Not an ounce of panic. Anyway happy Christmas to you and a happy new year
I saw a video the other day and the guy had actual toe warmers for his boots.
That guy is living the dream 😄
Try the sealskin winter socks, there grand 😂
Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
Good luck with winter camping pal 😂

Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
maybe putting hand warmers in your boots, as long as your not walking around with them in your boots.
I'll definitely be giving that a go, I do move quite a bit setting up cameras though..Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
Maybe some Hot Sockee Neoprene Toe warmers would work for ya? They have them on Amazon.
How have I not heard of those before 😮 Thanks a million, Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
@@RamblingOn :) Happy Christmas to you as well!
Just a guess, but you didn't have enough air space between your boot layers. Down booties with your layers would work.
I reckon you're right, I'll get it sorted. Thanks a mill and Happy Christmas 🎄
@RamblingOn same to you and your family. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in 2025!
@RamblingOn Thank you!
No idea how those pegs didn't all pop out. I think having bungee line properly helped by absorbing shock
Yeah I think so to, Happy Christmas 🎅🎄
Have you tried down bootys slippers from naturehike?
I haven't but maybe I should. They'd be great for inside the tent but outside? I move quite a lot setting up the camera, I'd probably damage them.
Just in the tent! But they're so good. Pulling your booties on signals your brain that it's time to get cozy and sleep. Almost as good as a sip of something. And they replace the extra pair of wool socks that you save for sleeping. You'd love them. @@RamblingOn
Hi Jason new here. Have you considered putting hot hands in your socks/boots? Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
@@RamblingOnHave a look at getting latex socks for putting on for moving about camp or popping out at night for a pee. They just pull on over your socks or even down booties.
Try the Montane Icarus. They have a sole for outdoor use but still only weigh 200gms for packing
Maybe buy two more hats and makes socks from them might be extra heat at night
I've a few ideas so hopefully that will sort it 🙂 I do love those hats, maybe some army surplus socks would be a good idea
Why don’t you buy 100% wool socks from one of those Irish woollen shop they are thick and warm…also buy pair of tin merino socks as a liner ( those thick woollen socks are itchy 😅 ) and you’re warm and cozy ✌️

I think a lot of “4 season” tents would have struggled in that sort of wind.
Good video Jason.
It did the job on the night, very impressed. Thanks a mill Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
All the best to you and the family Jason
A proper 4 season tent like the hilleberg soulo would not cave in like that. The Durston is indeed a good lightweight tent, but it's not a tent for winds like that.
The mre heat patch that NEVER works..
I'm sure they work, I just never bother with them
By putting your feet in your boots
You are squeezing the insulation making it less effective
I think I may prioritise two decent pairs of socks and leave it at that. That should give enough space 🤞 Happy Christmas to you and yours🎄🎅
@RamblingOn you probably would be warmer with all the layers on your feet , and the boots off, some people use down filled slippers while stationery.
