1:48 These T-80UD were sold to Pakistan by Ukraine. They were upgraded with Thermals and the Ukrainian 6TD-2E Engine wich can also be found in the T-84. Later variants of this tank also received a new turret.
which doesn't have any thermals! only thing I can think is since this is an event vehicle, gjn will make it a lower BR then after folks earn/sell/buy them they will later this year, raise its BR. they do that to even vehicles a lot.
@Questionablethingy yes you're correct I was using T72 recently without the thermals and associated it with T80. Also @ActuallyNotIlmatar yeah the Sweden T80U does 11kmh reverse buuuut I mean woopty doo I think the Squadron version should be same BR as TT, as a reward/incentive.
Soviet UD was a product of Ukraine's development and integration of diesel engine into T80 platform. UD has a larger version of T64 engine, because larger T80 engine compartment allows it. Also there is no traditional gear box, it uses hubs/reductor concept to transfer power, that is why it is so compact. Overall T64 powerplant is a masterpiece that was ahead of it's time, and to an extent still is. Ukraine was and is the only producer of T64 and T80UD engines Pakistani is a later Russian variant, that uses same cheaper concept as T72, which is side oriented engine + gear box.
Personally i think every event vehicle is worth keeping. The game is always getting new vehicles so at some point it may have a lineup. Brs also change and it may go to 11.0 which does have a lineup. More than likely this thing will sell for maybe 30 bucks for a while before eventually hitting 50 or 60 in months from now and thats not worth selling it
As much as I'd love another MBT for China, as it's my second priority behind Italy, I just could not justify spending that much time or money on little more than another T-80. The fact it's at a weird BR is definitely a downside. It's not like I mind copies of historical vehicles either, especially ones with quirks and unique features. I would love to have it, it's just that I was working fucking retail in holiday season, could not possibly grind that much and stay sane, and I also didn't want to spend like $60 for the privilege of stock grinding a T-80 that doesn't even fit in any lineups.
it fits fine in chinas massive 11.0. also there is an accepted bug report that will give it a round better than 3bm42 which will have 550mm and probably increase it to 11.0
I've not played more than 5 matches with China ha but still grinding that. WT fomo yo. Actually the only tree I've reached top is UK I need to rotate more
Berryman have you acquired the sacred knowledge of what this thing is called in the files? I'm trying to put a custom sight on it but I can't figure out what to name the folder.
@@ryanberry_ I learned like 2h ago you can just have the game create a custom skin folder for a vehicle, it uses the same name as the sights. But damn I didn't even think about the wiki URL, thank you Berryman :D
6.5 sec load time is wrong and needs to be fixed. All Soviet T64-T80 series have the same, identical full loading cycle of about 7sec. Process of picking up the shell takes about 6sec, process of ammo rack rotation is about 1 sec, together 6+1 ≈ 7 seconds. There is only one condition that allows sub 7 sec load time - it is when shell in the ammo rack is already preselected and is waiting to be loaded, that condition eliminate the need for ammo rack to rotate. Right after that shot, full loading cycle time will be about 7sec. Fruther more, that condition is only possible in T80 and modernized ammo rack variants. Mechanical functioning process time is all the same on all T variants. What different is how functionality of ammo rack.
if same shit different smell was a tank (This thing is fun, especially when you’re going against Russian tanks in a Russian tank that has thermals lmao)
This is not a Russian tank, but a Ukrainian one. But first of all, it's a Soviet tank. A modification from the video was supplied by Ukraine to Pakistan. Of course, I understand that for a Western audience, the USSR and Russia are the same thing, but the USSR collapsed 30 years ago... Take this story more seriously, not in a cliched way.
@ryanberry_ yeah but its still a minor nation compared to the big three. Other chinese tanks also play already pretty similar so there isn't really a niche it fills.
I STRONGLY disagree on the point that russian T80UD should go up to 10.7. That one seems fine as it is. And there is plenty things to it - horrible gun drives, no rear gear, no thermals, tight crew compartments etc. So the armor and a forwards mobility are actual redeeming qualities with it being 10.3. But the armor is not that great and shields mostly pooorly layed shots. As soon as someone hits you well you either die on the spot or incapacitated. Neither mobility is that great - it's fine, but 250HP deficiency hits noticeably, rear *AHEM* rear gear. That's only one side of moving it upwards where it pales in comparison to a Leo2A4/M1, there's another - the change in the matchmaker overall. As it gets moved up, it will see way less soft enemies it can reliably penetrate, less guns to tank etc... Overall, again, I strongly disagree on that point.
I think you underrate the armor a bit, yeah precise shots will still get it but as someone who has been playing around 9.3 to 10.7 a lot lately I've found the T-80UD has a combination of mobility, armor and firepower that makes its placement at 10.3 seem a little generous. ESPECIALLY when you can look at stuff like the TURMS which has substantially worse armor (weak T-72A composite and kontakt-1 instead of 5), the slower T-72 reload, and is a good step down in mobility, yet sits at the same BR presumably because of its thermal optics. And the T-80B which has weaker composite and also kontakt-1 yet sits ABOVE the UD at 10.7 due to marginally better mobility and low-grade thermals. Thermals are probably at their least relevant in the meta lately, because the most common maps are small, close quarters, or have predictable routes of traffic. Most of these tanks would perform much better if they were like the UD and were moved down a BR step in exchange for losing these largely superfluous features. Why does the UD get this special treatment, especially considering its advanced armor? I'll grant you that the overall mobility dynamics and gun handling of most T-series tanks makes them a little uncomfortable and off-meta, but where a Leo2A4 or M1 has to aim at a weak spot on a T-80UD, the T-80 (and thus, anything with 3BM42 or better) can slice through the entirety of the Leos hull, and most of the turret, from any angle. You will not always have positional advantage in those tanks no matter how good a player you are, and there's nothing stopping a T-80 from flanking or getting in a good position themselves -- a NATO pattern tank will die just as easily when caught-out. Comparing 'soft' stuff like thermals, reverse gear, and gun handling versus 'hard' stuff like armor resistance and raw power-to-weight is never going to give a satisfying answer regarding balance because there are a great many factors at play and infinitely varying circumstances; it's just strange to me that the T-80UD sits at 10.3 with the objective performance of a 10.7+ tank.

Yeah its unfortunate gaijin didn’t add the upgraded one.
finally he’s not too lazy anymore to upload but Nice vid ❤
30:40 i'll never understand why the teammate that shot the tiran didn't just tell you he's got the breech
This at 10.7 is proof of Sweden suffers with its 11.3 t80u with 3bm42

@@JaykeBlayde the sweden t80u DOES have thermal, the problem is the mobility which is what make it 11.3
T80U mobility is no joke.
Swedens T80 uses the "better" transmission model. This thing uses the T72 transmission with 4kph backwards.
@@ActuallyNotIlmatar so like thats every t80 ever that isnt a UD

Its got a pretty cool camo
i cant tell if gajin has ran outa ideas or if they dont care, like the 11th t-80 in the game 🤦♂️
Brother Berry, how do you like ZTZ99 2 and 3??
Berryman have you acquired the sacred knowledge of what this thing is called in the files? I'm trying to put a custom sight on it but I can't figure out what to name the folder.
The wiki URL for the tank is the CDK filename, try that (last part of URL after last slash)

Yeah, fair to sell. MBT-2000 is still plenty fine, China still rocks at 8.0+. Now it if was 11.3 or 11.7, and a proper T-80, maybe worth keeping.
I just noticed you have the old UI, is it a mod?
what sight are you using?
It's in game, called Sosna-U FCS
Broooo, what is your hangar?

Second game they hit you so many times on the side armor and nothing happen
The holiday sales and event have ruined the game for me right now. I am one tank away from top tier china but my teams suck.
I already redeemed the coupon so I ain’t selling it :)))
its an alright backup for 11.0? like the armor works and its the only chinese tank with the 6.5 sec autoloader...
What do you guys think it will bring on the marketplace?
I’ve used the coupon. So that mean i wont be able to sold it if i finished it to 10/10?

Meh i dont think its worth keeping because its part of the chinese tree. I doubt it will be worth much.
I mean China is a great tree, it's just the fact they have no vehicles to match with it.
