To repent means to turn 180 degrees in the other direction. You are headed one way, you turn around and go another. There may be some effort, but all God asks from you is that you be sincere and try. And you can try as many times as you want. When you have been doing something for a while, God knows it might take time to get your feet under you. Walking with God is a process. And it is not a sprint, it is a steady marathon where all you have to do to win is cross the finish line. You need to be kind to yourself. All God asks is that if you fall down, you get back up and keep trying. You might not realize this but no one is born holy. We all have to figure it out. It takes time, patience, persistence, and most of all practice. You’re not going to get it right the first time, or the tenth time. The reason Jesus died on the cross is because He knew that. He wanted to give you the ability to seek him, ask Him for help, and ask forgiveness whenever you need to. Did you think God was only going to give you one chance to get this right?

I don't like the way I feel I'm disappointed in myself. We both need to put on the full armor of God and pray constantly even if our prayers still empty even if we feel no connection through our prayers that's only Satan. When we think about other things other than Jesus we need to correct our thoughts and put it on Jesus and just start singing praises to Jesus and think about the many blessings Jesus gave us our thoughts need to be consistently on Jesus and again pray consistently and we will get back where we were. Can relate to this right now. @@jackiemack8653 It occurs to me that maybe you are confusing the word repenting with trying. We Christians do tend to have our own vocabulary which can confuse things.
To repent means to turn 180 degrees in the other direction. You are headed one way, you turn around and go another. There may be some effort, but all God asks from you is that you be sincere and try. And you can try as many times as you want. When you have been doing something for a while, God knows it might take time to get your feet under you. Walking with God is a process. And it is not a sprint, it is a steady marathon where all you have to do to win is cross the finish line.
You need to be kind to yourself. All God asks is that if you fall down, you get back up and keep trying. You might not realize this but no one is born holy. We all have to figure it out. It takes time, patience, persistence, and most of all practice. You’re not going to get it right the first time, or the tenth time. The reason Jesus died on the cross is because He knew that. He wanted to give you the ability to seek him, ask Him for help, and ask forgiveness whenever you need to.

I understand how you feel and what you're going through. I'm going through the same thing at this moment and it happened the same way you say it happened to you. I don't like the way I feel I'm disappointed in myself. We both need to put on the full armor of God and pray constantly even if our prayers still empty even if we feel no connection through our prayers that's only Satan. When we think about other things other than Jesus we need to correct our thoughts and put it on Jesus and just start singing praises to Jesus and think about the many blessings Jesus gave us our thoughts need to be consistently on Jesus and again pray consistently and we will get back where we were. Can relate to this right now. I turned to Jesus and one of my co-workers kept asking me about horoscopes, ex best friend tried to pop back into my life to tell me new age beliefs were hidden in the Bible, and people I barely spoke to before started trying to give me books on witchcraft because they knew I used to be into that kind of stuff. But I cling to Jesus through it all. I need him like I need air to breathe at this point. There is no life in me without him.
