What’s strange is Soichiro’s skating is so solid, clean & well composed that it’s difficult to fully appreciate and understand the sheer mastery of his skating because he makes it look to easy. He is a true master.
Michelin star rollerblading. Soichiro is always pushing the boundaries, but is so refined. Usually when someone is so good at something.. it looks easy/boring and goes over your head or you don’t want to try anymore because you know you will never amount to that kind of talent. Not this Master Chef. Always brings the flavour. Always such a treat to watch. Favourite rollerblader year after year.
Okinawa is not an easy place to skate, none of the floors are smooth, even with good wheels and bearings its hard to keep a good flow like Soichiro does, so props for making it look too easy.
Makes me sad, rollerblading has gone soft. 4 stair handrails and wall ride "bonks" are cool now? This was shit we did goofing around on the way to real spots , would have never put it in an edit. Times have changed I suppose , different standards. Good style solid music , real weak tricks. Not saying I think he's bad or incapable of anything bigger so relax , just a real weak standard to get clips out these days. You young bucks need to step it back up, Carlos , Chris , Alex, Aaron ...almost like you guys had a bar to exceed. Impress me, who's actually rollerblading these days? Everything I see is crap park rats did in the first 6 months of skating now days, pencil 360 tricks etc. I would genuinely love to be wrong.
