Wow wow wow. This is one of the best videos, if not the best video, I've ever seen on speaking Hebrew. Thank you so so much! You were amazing! And I have subscribed 😊 First video and I'm hooked. Well done. You have a gift
Shalom trust me I have to act. I am doing a role play of Abraham. Your last point is like the only reason why I am watching. I am taking some ideas just to make it a little authentic 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
This is good stuff. I don't know any Hebrew, but I am trying to learn the accent. I am creating a new character for a roleplaying game I'm in, and I've decided to give her an Israeli accent. I always like to try to sound as natural as possible, so your little filler phrases are super helpful!
I spent ~7 months studying intensive Hebrew at Ulpan Etzion in Jerusalem, one of the oldest ulpans in Israel. I was functional in Hebrew by the end and was able to get through my IDF service, but I wouldn't say I was fluent in Hebrew. Also my Israeli friends would tell me that my Hebrew was typical "ulpan Hebrew", meaning a bit stiff and formal and lacking colloquial expression. My ulpan class, which I enjoyed a great deal, was very international and I think that the native English speakers were at the biggest disadvantage in learning Hebrew because especially in a large city like Jerusalem or Tel Aviv it was so easy to fall back on English.
The best way to The best way to expand your Hebrew vocabulary is to insist that the Sabras STOP answering you in English and saying the dreaded "Oh, you can speak English". Damn straight I can, it's my native language! I'm convinced that the Sabras don't want to speak Hebrew until the other person speaks it perfectly, rapidly and with a perfect accent. I just gave up when I lived there. .iYou must insist that the Sabras STOP answering you in English and saying the dreaded "Oh, you can speak English". Damn straight I can, it's my native language! thanks a lot for the tips! if only you'd add the subs of the words you mentioned on screen^, that would be super helpful... cuz spelling and writing in Hebrew is not that easy :))))) Thank you
I'm looking to learn Hebrew and then make Aliyah, however I don't have many people to speak Hebrew with, I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping me learn and practice?
I know I’m going to spell this wrong, but the 1st filler word you used,(ke’elu) does that have the same meaning as ke’elu kahn in Boaz Mauda’s song? If so, that would mean he is singing “like here”? In what context is he signing this or is it another ke’elu? Slicha, I hope that I was not too confusing. Toda raba!
The r sound is the same as in French and in the southern Sweden. I found it helpful to put a pen in my mouth, like a dog carrying a bone, and all the way up in the angels of the mouth. Now try it!
Embarrassingly enough. My biggest problem is I have dry mouth on and off due to medication and the pronunciation of the ch is so hard my tongue gets stuck and wont perform. Maybe I need to carry gum or mints idk. Further you said a word that needs to have an early start on the ch if you know what i mean. Also you start the ch sound a little earlier in the word cholahl sorry idk the spelling of the word--so that makes it even harder for me. How can I get over that? Should I start saving up saliva or what do I do?
You are very talented, wish I could have a teacher like you, Keep up your good work, however, there some improvement needs on your English. I am sure that wont be hard for you to achive a higher level of English.
Germán Rivas You are right, but there is an important similarity between the Spanish J and the Hebrew ח (more so l would argue then the ה). But you are right to point out that those are two different sounds. In order to produce the ח, one must feel the throat vibrating.

ly in Hebrew?
thank you!
Dear friend: we have more difficulty to pronounce and differentiate between he (ה) and het (ח). How are we to produce each in an understandable way?

זה עזר לי הרבה. תודה.
The vowels you imitate as English vowel production in Hebrew words is actually the Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) accent. 😂
Lol the way that you imitated how Americans speak😹
toda raba =)
Thank you for this

אתה נשמע ממש כמו צרפתי גם בעברית וגם באנגלית. מאין אתה? נתניה?
Great tips!! Todah :)

JAJAJA amo esto 👏
Such a smart cutie
אני מתלבט... איך כותבים את המילים like בעברית? כאילו? כלומר?
המילה "כמו" - most useful when talking about similarities
אני מאחל שעשיתה הוידאו הזה לפני שנתיים
MrCutMeLoose erm what dont use google translate cause it is incorrect
You said: I wish you made the video two years ago
I sent you a message via italki. Please read and respond if possible. I think that you will find it of interest.
👍
We don't have the guttural kaf sound in Spanish, sorry my friend the "J" sound is more like "ה", softer.
Germán Rivas You are right, but there is an important similarity between the Spanish J and the Hebrew ח (more so l would argue then the ה).
But you are right to point out that those are two different sounds. In order to produce the ח, one must feel the throat vibrating.
It depends on the country. In Argentina we use to pronounce "J" rather strong.
חחחחח אהבתי
"כאכאם" = smart 😂😂😂

יפה אח אבל אני לא חושב שכלומר זו מילה פרקטית ללומד עברית בסיסית.

Native Hebrew speakers sound like French when speaking English .... to my ear.
כאילו זה לא סלאנג. אני לא מכיר בנאדם שלא אומר את זה חוץ מכמה סנובים.
למה אתה עושה את זה מה לעאזאזל
למה לא?
למה לא אחי
