I live where it gets seriously cold in the winter (-40) and am intrested in how this battery would work in a camper, will it break, and will it give enough power out in that temp to get the diesel heater going?
After the diesel heater is running, it is just a matter of time before the batterys are in a normal temperature since they are inside,
If the solar or car generator is trying to charge them when they are too cold, what happens to the battery? Will it short the incoming charger or what?

Thanks for watching! To answer you last question first. If it is already below 32F/0C and the battery had enough power - it will always just try to keep an operating temperature as of my test. If the battery was dead and it is still below 32F/0C and you start charging the battery with solar or car - the battery might get damaged in case the self heating can't get the temperature quick enough to operating temperature. So it would be crucial to maintain at least the power for the self heating so the battery can control its own temperature. I hope this makes sense. For your use case this would be perfect I feel like as long as you have enough power for the self heating function :-)
