I actually think that I like the rollers much better. They were huge at first but they fell beautifully. But then, I'm a sucker for a beautiful roller set.
I think it's best for those with fine hair, as someone with thick hair I prefer a curling iron with higher temperatures to get the same effect, lower heat doesn't do much for thick hair or it does but won't last long
I bought this last week through a local salon and ended up selling it. I think it’s over hyped. At least for me. I have thick coarse hair and I felt like it didn’t grasp my hair well. Also it didn’t get hot enough for me so it was difficult to get a frizz free smooth effect. I rather just use my curling iron.
@Natasha Estrada My mom had one when I was little and growing up. She used to burn the fire out of my ears and pull me bald with that thing. I can remember trying to use it (on the dl) and having to show her the mess in my hair and have it cut out! It was heated but I don't remember the cartridges!
Would you please make a video explaining, showing slowly the technique of making the soft curls at the bottom? I struggle with making the twist as you unwind the brush! Thank you!
I agree that it is a straight forward tool but I can’t find anything else like this and I wish there was one like this but better. However, I love this tool! Takes me 10 minutes to get my hair looks nice and the blow up look. My go to tool for that look and also when I don’t have a lot of time to do something else. I actually got this before it got viral! Haha love it!
I’ve owned multiples of this tool….for years I used it. My gripe with it is that the bristles will prematurely start falling out and eventually, you will need to replace it. I had to buy a new one about once a year. Great tool but I got tired of having to replace because of that. Crazy that its now trending as its been around for years and years
wavy talk has a cheap one I got for $35. It works and it's good at what it does. Just be careful your hair doesn't get caught between the brush and the handle since the brush is detachable for multiple attachments.
Tools like this have been around forever but no one talks about them. Revlon and Hot Tools have made ones that look exactly like this. I currently own a Head Kandy version. I don’t get what makes the Amika so special. Like how is it different from these other cheaper brands?
What's up with people who only comment just to make sure everyone knows that something isn't a new thing? Especially when no one claimed that it was recently invented. I guess people feel the need to say something no matter how pointless?
I’m actually thrilled I came across this. Hot tools made a version of this and I love it. It was dual voltage and worked all over, but it’s a bit worn out. I’ve been wanting a new one but this concept has most been with plastic or silicone one bristles that pull and hurt like he’ll the shine with these are great and in 8+ years, I’ve never gotten tangled.
I don't understand why she keeps wrapping her hair around the barrel like that. Why not just wind it up from the bottom and unroll it? It seems like it would be less likely to get tangled and easier.
So you start at the top and roll downwards, gathering hair in little sections, you get a much more evenly heated and curled curl. She’s doing it how professional hair stylists use a curling iron! :) I just learned how to do this and it makes a world of a difference.
I've got an older Hot Tools version of this that just did not get hot enough. Maybe at 356 the amika is the good version of that tool. I do own and absolutely love the ghd rise which is similar to these but with a 1.25" barrel.
I dont get it, its just a heated round brush? Theyve been around for decades....how is it different to other heated round brushes that have been on the market?
I use the Sleepy Tie to keep my blowouts looking good overnight and I just ordered this for touch ups the next day! I find my front pieces get a little flat and I’m excited to try this out.
i think you can have the same result with hairdryer brush and you dry your hair the same time. I have babyliss pro hairdryer brush and I think it does the same accept it also dryes hair
I’ve had this for years. I loved it when my hair was above my shoulders. Any longer, I didn’t like it. My hair is pretty thick so I have to do a lot of sections and it’s more work than I want.
So, it's just a curling brush. I was pretty much an 80's baby and I grew up watching my mom curl her hair with a curling brush. Had to be careful not to tangle your hair up in it. Interesting how we're going full circle again. Nothing new under the sun. :)
I have bangs that I have to get a round brush and hair dryer out every day even though I only wash my washer every 3-5 days. This would be perfect for my dry hair.
I don't understand this product... isn't it just a curling iron basically? When I bought one of these at Marshalls I was expecting it to be a smaller version of the revlon brush (air). I like the idea of eliminating a step. With this, you still have to dry your hair. Plus thermal heat is much worse for your hair than air heat and it's easy to overheat your hair with a tool like this vs a round brush and a blow dryer.
Did they have this way back….like in the early 80s? I swear my mom had one. 🤔 I used a tool like this not too long ago and got my hair stuck! My daughter came to my rescue. I was super panicked and luckily didn’t burn my hair.
@Milabu my hair struggles to hold volume and curl as well and is very similar to yours and I had the same result with the brush, what have you found helps your hair hold volume and curl the best?
How do you think this would work with shorter hair? My Mom is telling me to get the Calista hot brush, because the bristles are thick and won't tangle my thin fine hair.
My electric paddle brush is ionized also. Think I'll stick to it. It has adjustable heat which a lot of people need. A lot of hype over nothing really.
This looks like a lot of trouble, especially putting clips in the hair to hold a curl. Who has time for that in the morning when you have to be at work?
It's staggering to me that people keep "inventing" these "new" products that were actually invented decades ago. These were hugely popular in the 80's and 90's. They aren't new. PS: You can buy them for around $20. I can't believe anyone is stupid enough to think this $100 version is the only option. For crying out loud, get off the internet and pay attention to what's right in front of you.
I’m impressed with how skilled you are with it right off the bat. I couldn’t really get the hang of it the first time. You look great!
Andrey is exactly right, all the preppy girls wore their hair like this in high school in the 90’s! It’s a beautiful look.
It gives me 90's telenovela actress hairstyle
This is all i used in the 80s. Thank God it came back i love it.
The quiet is so peaceful
I actually think that I like the rollers much better. They were huge at first but they fell beautifully. But then, I'm a sucker for a beautiful roller set.
I agree it’s like hot rollers but the result is meh … I will stick with the hot rollers !
I think it's best for those with fine hair, as someone with thick hair I prefer a curling iron with higher temperatures to get the same effect, lower heat doesn't do much for thick hair or it does but won't last long
I agree. My hair is very thick and this just didn’t do it for me.
I think fine hair would be fried by the heat.
Mine is so fine and thin that it wouldn't hold this curl. Bummer.
Hey Michelle what salon had it? I would love to buy through them to try it
Try the revlon one
My mom has a brush like this from the 70s…. It all comes full circle.
It reminds me of the old school heated round brush that I tangled into my hair a million times in the 80's as a child!
Bonus points if you had the one that was heated with the little gas cartridges.
Thank you!
This seems genius for those who don’t need to blow dry their hair for a sleeker start.
I’ve got something similar from another brand and I love it. It’s the perfect styling tool for my hair type.
what was it if u don't mind sharing?
What is it?
@@waOoOda My girl has this tool and in our country it is cheaper and does the same thinhg, björn axén heating brush
I think it’s supposed to be used with tension- smoothing the hair like they do at the salon with the round brush- not roll and unroll the curls.
Your hair looks so beautiful with the brown 😍
Thanks for watching and showing love.

This is no different from heated curling brush irons that’ve been on the market for years, for much less $$.
Yes I had one in the 80's from Conair
me too! nothing new about this iron, just generations are just discovering it
Thought it did a beautiful job, especially for what your hair originally looked like when you started.
Thanks for watching and showing love.

A curling brush, just as we had back in the day. Nothing new
Yes! My mom used to have one of those in the 90’s! I totally forgot about that, thanks for reminding me

Right... So it's the bristles that make this brush different to other ones like this?

Too much work and tangling of hair
What's the difference between this thing and a barrel curler?

I have the hot tools too and have always loved it. Been looking for an upgrade with bristles and not the plastic or silicone nibs.
The finished look I love!! I wonder if it would work on my hair and length. My hair is longer de Milabu’s hair. Over all I love it!

Hey. Thank u for this video. Do u recommend this vs a blowdry one step brush?

Really nice hairstyle 😊.
You look so Good! What make-up did you use?
Rachel Green vibes ❤️😍
i need this brush in my life

I love my Calista brush, always get compliments when I use it to finish my hair. It’s subtle but great for finish.
I had one like that years ago

No! I would be scared to use this. Too hot and I’m sure I would get tangled up in it.

I liked the rollers better. And when you comb it out it takes away all of the curl and defeats the purpose. I love watching all of your videos! ❤

Your hair looked really tangled when you finished. Thank God you like to comb out your curls!
Why are they so slow to restock? Any ETA on when they’ll be back? 😢
Omg i own that device, I’ve had it for year since before Anika was a big brand. I got it at a hair show
I love the guy’s comments lol😅 he’s like yaaa u dnt need this😂
Have you tried the wavytech duo for the Amika ? Wondering how theyre different. The wavy tech is 1/2 the price and it’s dual voltage.
I remember these from the 80’s when I was a little girl and I got one tangled up in my hair I think I’m still scarred from it. 😂
Can it be used on wet hair?
Your hair looked exactly like Jennifer Aniston's with minimal effort. I'm naturally curly so I don't do blowouts but I'm genuinely impressed.
I love your results. I want to try it

That looks ike the worst thing ever invented
It makes me wonder if they could make the revlon type brushes with that smoothness but have the option for a hot plate and no air

I think Dyson also does the same thing. If u own Dyson then I think it’s good
The Dyson one works with blowing hot air and your hair has to be damp, this one just heats up
Love your channel 😊❤

Hi... Excited for your videos ❤
What is the name of the hair spray?

How is this different from the 30/40 hot dry brush that is all over the internet? Supposedly infused with oils.
It is exact the same as B.R.U.S.H. Right? Does it also has macadamian and argan oil infused inside? You should try that one 😬
Thanks for watching and showing love.

As a preteen I asked my mom for a curling iron and she gave me her old curling brush and I was so disappointed. Lol. The tangles… the limitations…
Did they have this way back….like in the early 80s? I swear my mom had one. 🤔

I’d like to hear how this compares to Dyson and it’s competitors with the air wrap. Anyone?

How do you think this would work with shorter hair? My Mom is telling me to get the Calista hot brush, because the bristles are thick and won't tangle my thin fine hair.
Laura - I got the one called B.R.U S.H. which looks similar to this one. I found that it was too rough with my fine hair. I agree with your Mom!
Which model of Calista? I have super fine hair and shorter cut
This is that Princess Diaries reveal hair.
I'm just not the targeted market. I have thin, fine hair, and it doesn't hold a soft curl for even 5 minutes. Hair spray only makes it crunchy.
My electric paddle brush is ionized also. Think I'll stick to it. It has adjustable heat which a lot of people need. A lot of hype over nothing really.
Thanks for watching and showing love.

I would probably still use this with a blow dryer lol
No. We don’t need it. It took A LOT of work with not a ton of volume.
I have a Kipozy set from Amazon that includes a brush like this. Doesn’t give me volume, so that’s why I don’t prefer it.
Thanks for watching and showing love.

I just bought the 30/40 Brush, it didn’t have the ion feature and it cost $130.00.😣
Podría hacer un vs de amika y conair curling brush plis
You can do the same thing with a clamped curling iron😅
You can’t buy them at all in Australia
This looks like a lot of trouble, especially putting clips in the hair to hold a curl. Who has time for that in the morning when you have to be at work?
I have thick hair and the brush gets stuck in my hair
Eh, it seems okay, but I think I can get that look with a curling iron. Nothing revolutionary. Seems overpriced.
Looking for a blow dryer with smaller barrel. Anyone make them?
I hate to add time to my routine. I blow-dry my hair with a round brush - same effect, least time.
I wanted to like this, but if i have to roll on each strand several times, I'd rather just do my regular blowout with brush & dryer😶
You youngins did the same thing to my generation, and so on.
It's staggering to me that people keep "inventing" these "new" products that were actually invented decades ago. These were hugely popular in the 80's and 90's. They aren't new. I'd pay $40 Canadian for it
Wait till someone’s hair gets tangled in it and it’s stuck getting scorched
That’s what I thought 😊 Temp is too high for my hair. They should have made it adjustable.
I was a bit scared watching because of that fear! I have fine hair that tangles really easily and likes to get stuck in brushes.
Bet I'd have to get it cut out after first use...my baby fine hair gets stuck in a giant blower brush.
If that happens the first thing to do is unplug it!
@@ellenpapuga7469 problem with that is it is heated so is not going to cool down super quick. Not like if it is just blowing out air.
Try the Ghd Rise Volumizing Hot Brush maybe that one would better
I’ll wait for a dupe 😅
Whoever designed this has never gotten there hair tangled in a round brush and it shows 😅
why not just use hot rollers
Isn’t this the B.R.U.S.H 30/40??? I bought one and I love it but it’s finally wearing out after a year
Hey i think you look like a modern brigitte bardo anyway thats how we did our hair then😊
