Lindsay Lohan sits next to Russel Brand the way many a woman has had to sit next to a man they don't feel comfortable with. As far away as she possibly can. As he slowly invades her personal space. She probably seems reserved because she feels uncomfortable. Can't blame her since she's been vilified in the media for her life choices, while he has been celebrated for doing the same.

aside from society's natural sexism, the difference is that russell successfully recovery, fixed his life, and afterwards was able to joke about it. lindsay struggled and was left a bit broken, so it always seemed as more tragic and serious. then take into account she kept relapsing, which is obviously very common among addicts and isn't reflective of her character but rather how serious her disease was. youre right that everyone was too rough on lindsay and a part of that may have been fueled by sexism but the two cases are very different and thus evoke different perspectives. also, and i may be wrong, but to me she seemed more disturbed by russell's joke, which after hearing lindsay talk, was just so obviously in poor taste. russell may not have known about the solitary confinement but an intelligent dude like him should've known not to joke about "wanting drugs while locked in jail bc it's boring" when a fellow addict who is still struggling is sitting right there

The woman was probably hungover/on a comedown most of the times she's had to come in to work. That's sort of why there tends to be like a *slight* trend with substance abuse and unemployment rates

I understand that, but she's working ridiculously hard to overcome her addiction went to rehab and trying to get accepted again but no one's doing it.
you know what's weird, almost everyone who became famous as a child, couldn't handle life anymore and became an addict or became weird. And I don't blame them cause look at our world. We don't have privacy anymore we don't care about someone's feelings anymore. So if we don't want any celebrity to become an addict or criminal then we first have to look at ourselves.

Well, he gets it.. He has struggled with alcohol and drugs too but he had a good entourage so he made good choices. This poor girl had only lunatics surrounding her.
She absolutely got what she deserved, she could have killed someone, another human being. She got drunk, she drove. She didn't get enough.
She looks so uncomfortable and he is so obviously invading her personal space she doesn't want him around her. You can actually tell she's really trying her best.

The reason why she couldn't look at Russell is because he is an addict and he can laugh about his mistakes because no one cares what he did and he still has a huge career. Lindsay on the other hand is trying to rebuild her career and has been for several years. She has been ridiculed and she doesn't take addiction lightly, as it shouldn't be taken lightly. Russell Brand has his own problems, he can deal with it in his own way, but Lindsay also has that right to deal with her shit in her own way and there is no reason to have a problem with that. It's completely ridiculous and biased.
This girl had and can have once again the world at her feet. I think she is a very talented actress, beautiful and appears to be playing with a full deck. She sure struggled, hope she has it back together now and can really excel in her chosen career as an actress. Still love Georgia Rules, along side a screen legend she really stood out to me. Poor Lindsey. According to an ethics class, it is true that celebrities and public figures get harsher punishments than regular people would for the same crime. It's because they have a wide audience so the legal system uses that to their advantage to educate the public about these issues. Sad the public refuses to see that they are just as human as everyone else.

I don't think you've ever gone through her life before, you don't know what it feels like to be pressured every single day of your life. She says the 14 days in solitary confinement felt strangely good because there was no one to bother her, it just shows she goes through a lot everyday. I'm not even a fan and I sympathize with her.
No one has the right to destroy what was given to them. I don't care what was she going through. I went through a lot and I still am, but this isn't an excuse to start doing drugs. nothing is.

She doesn't need one more person to tell her she screwed up. In fact, she probably already knows there are millions of other people who judge her, and you know what, that's exactly the reason she goes to drugs.
if there weren't people telling her she screwed up what would be the message? That people can do drugs and no one will care? Imagine what kids would see...they'd see world, where drugs are OK and you will be supported if you'll do them. That's one of reasons why we should judge people like her.

'I drank and then I drove home' No. You did like 1 minute of a jail sentence prior then you broke your probation time and time again and then the judge finally had enough of your childish antics and locked you up (and you only served a fraction of your sentence). Looking at Lindsay Lohan on this was a shocker to me because I wasn't keeping up to date on her for the past years, and I was like, 'what happened?' She used to look really nice, and I now I hear she went to jail, and started doing drugs... But honestly, she doesn't look that bad. Its just the difference from the past makes everyone think 'Wow, she completely destroyed herself.' Since she was REALLY pretty. I really don't judge her because all the struggles been happening in her life. Everyone makes bad choices. We learn from them at the end of the day. :)

ive been to jail multiple times bc i'm a loser but i could never imagine surviving solitary confinement - hardened criminals kill themselves in solitary bc its so unbearable - i've always felt like i was crawling out of my skin just in a holding cell by myself. They should have put her in a pod with other low-risk non-offending criminals that wouldn't hurt her - a dui does not deserve solitary
