Have You Ever Seen a Short Prevost Bus Conversion?

  • Today I am at Premium Coach Group in Gilbert, Arizona and I am luck enough to be able to inspect this 2003 Vision bus conversion on a Prevost XL2 chassis. But the interesting thing about this bus, isn't that it's well built and manintained, but that it is on a 40 foot Prevost XL2 chassis. Normally, these conversions are 45 foot long, but this was ordered shorter. Which gives better access to storage and RV parks and of course means turns are a bit easier. Other than that, it is an exceptional if not safe "low key" build that I am happy to share.

    40 footers, better fuel mileage, better turning radius, go in more places 45 footers can’t.
    Nice coach. But where was the washer/dryer located. I did see the switch for it in the electric panel in the bedroom.

    If I should ever win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, I would love one of these for my dog obedience trials but I am not so sure my neighbors would enjoy staring at the side of a bus. It would be too large even for the extra side part of my driveway. A person can dream. I would prefer no slide out myself. As my dear late Dad would say, one more thing to malfunction. He resisted automatic windows on his vehicles until he couldn't anymore without buying a very old gas guzzler.

    Yup, the early 2000's 40' XLII is my dream bus! In most States' licensing laws, you can drive up to a 40' RV with no special licensing requirements! In California, a normal Class C License will suffice! As soon as you go over 40', you need a non-commercial Class B.

    I was very impressed with your excellent video James. You always open my eyes to the possibilities of a non slider bus conversion and it’s ease of use. I like the older motorhomes as I feel that they were built better provided they have been cared for. I love the real stone throughout as it’s timeless and strong. Not a great deal of space in the bedroom but I’m a slim 5’2 😉
    I have looked for the price however it’s not yet available.
    Thanks for the journey around the coach. My only complaint is that more motorhomes should embrace the future by installing solar panels in every space possible. It’s not just a gadget it’s the new way of life and provides more power and helps our climate crisis.
    See you soon I hope 🤞🏼 💕💫

    • @terrysmith2233
      @terrysmith2233 Год назад

      With a 29 KW gen Set and an all electric coach why waste money on solar that will not run the ACS or the 4K watt plus or minus inverter. If you are so concerned with “saving the planet” that is going to be destroyed by nukes anyway, then buy a bicycle and carry a sleeping bag in your back pack. 😂🤣

      @@terrysmith2233 It’s appalling to see the complete lack of respect for our planet. If everyone made the decision to follow the science rather then the misinformation we could stand a chance but as you clearly demonstrate your understanding is both plagiarism and complete lack of knowledge.
      Terry you might want to see the world as it was 50 plus years ago however it’s no longer a reality.
      Your remarks are useful to demonstrate why climate change is not a priority for people who follow politicians rather than science.

      Most the Prevost conversations were 40’ long intill they put in the inline 6 cylinder Series 60 Detroits. Then most were 40’ but there are quite a few 40’ers as I have had several. Watch out for the 2001 and newer Prevista that have the non riveted sidewalls that come unglued and are very expensive to replace, reseal, and repaint.
