Ironically, I'm currently trying to studying japanese and xyvey mentioned you have a yt channel and told me you also were! I just started a few days ago so, yeah... Basically pretty new and could use a few tips T^T)
@@JynPengwyn OMG, I'm excited to hear you beginning the journey to study Japanese. Keep it up! Assuming you've been watching anime for a while, I recommend learning hiragana and katakana in order to memorize all existing sounds in Japanese. This will help your pronunciation early on. You don't have to go straight to learning grammar and kanji afterwards. In my case back then, I looked up a list of basic words for JLPT N5 and practiced reading them in their kana form. Subsequently, you may undergo immersion for a week where you consume media only in Japanese. Find content that is beginner-friendly and listen closely to how natives structure their sentences (I recommend Daily Japanese with Naoko). Repeat after phrases you find interesting, note them down and review them days later. Everything else will come later but I personally think this is a good way to start ^^. Even if you don't understand everything yet, it's preferable to learn from actual videos where people are speaking Japanese and mine your own vocabulary instead of using apps like Duolingo. This way, your brain will contextualize the words faster, gradually developing a skill that's crucial as you advance. I plan to create a video about this as well so I can discuss a guide in detail, hehe. Thank you so much for watching the vids, Gwyn!
@@saciayen waaa thank you so much ! I actually almost teared up when I saw your reply cause OHMYGOSH THATS ALOT. THANK YOU SO MUCH T^T I will take note of all of these. I APPRECIATE THE REPLY SUPER DUPER MUCH HUHUH. This will truly help me a LOT. Btw, What do you mean by "not have to go straight to learning grammar afterwards"? Is it not recommended? Also, do you think I should memorize/familiarize Hana and Kana before moving on to basic words? Ohhhh, I see I see. I'll wait for a notif from your channel, then! Heheh I'm looking forward to it. Goodluck on your YT journey !!! P.s. I apologize if I asked too many questions T^T AND IM SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY
@@JynPengwyn Knowing a few words and phrases at first would be good! But after that, it's generally recommended to learn hiragana and katakana before you move on with anything else. Basic grammar is something you can pick up easily as you listen to Japanese. I'd say worry about it when sentences become more complex for your comprehension; there are several guides for all levels that will break it down for you
