Yeah we're friendly in the states and rarely do we ever say anything negative about other countries, but it seems like a lot of foreigners like to talk shit on us.
Because many people in Australia won't pay attention to the news maybe. Also Australia is just a proxy of the USA in geopolitics while the rivalry is between China and USA.
That's why I moved to Australia!!! Best blokes ever!!! Aussies are passionate about mateship, culture, appreciate good beers, love to talk to anyone from outside the country. Anyway, the best country I ever been!
You can only legitimately say you like or don't like a country after you've at least been there, based on the short time you've got to known the country, on first impressions. People everywhere generally are the same, have both good and bad ones. For those you don't like but haven't been there yet and based only on what the media say, your actual experience can be quite different from what your local media has reported, can be worse or better. Not to say there's not a vestige of truth, but often it's manipulated to tell you the narrative they want you to see due to geopolitics. Like how western media tend to portray China, how unsafe it is. In reality, it's one of the safest countries in the world to travel. I've been there a few times and just so much history and breathtaking landscapes to explore. No country is entirely bad or a utopia, but certain things we've seen are mostly true because there's the internet that shows actual footage and people on the ground being interviewed, so you can believe there's some authenticity. Eg. it's true that lax gun laws and weirdoes have made USA in general an unsafe place to be. But not all states are unsafe and different state has different legislation. Interestingly, most people interviewed in Australia claim not to like USA, given the close relationships that USA and Australia have. For eg, I like USA and China as a destination on its own to explore, but I may not like the govt and politics there, and the ultra-nationalists of these countries because they are usually the most ill-informed about the world and realities as well. However, as a tourists, these are not things for me to be overly concerned with since I am not affected by it. Still some countries I may not like enough to travel at this moment because of its dangerous politics or situation there, not because I don't like the country as a travel destination.
I had a feeling most people would say the US. Most people don't like us, especially in other English speaking countries. But regardless I love Australians. They are really chill people.
I don't think it's Americans they don't like, it's aspects of the country's culture like gun violence and politics being so divided and crazy. I've lived here for 38 years and have never heard anyone say they don't like Americans, and all the Americans I have met living here love it
@@Lengstrom That's understandable. I just wish people would understand that there's way more to the US than the craziness you see on the news. I think that is true for every country, which is why I try to stay open-minded.
I was sitting on a curb in Bangkok early in the morning. A guy came walking by asked if he could sit down. I said sure he told me he was Australian and I told him I was American. Immediately he started lecturing me about USA gun laws. So I told him it was the reason they would think twice about locking people in concentration camps for catching a cold. He quickly changed the subject. Then he started telling me how he hates Donald Trump. So I baited him by saying why are you so interested in American politics? I don't know or even care who your president or prime minister or whatever you have is. He took the bait and said Americans don't know anything about the world. So I told him I know the leaders of Russia and China were but Australia is insignificant on the world stage. I don't know anything about minor league football teams either. He started it .
I'm Indonesian, so there's no reason for me to hate Australia, because there are lots of Australian and Indonesian descendants, just like the Netherlands and Germany, there are lots of Australian, German and Dutch descendants in Indonesia, so there's no reason to hate them because of Australia. Germany and the Netherlands are the countries with the most blood ties to Indonesia, if we were enemies with each other it would be the same as killing our own children and grandchildren.
Yup. Dutch myself in origin and have been living in Australia for many years ...and I've noticed many that there are many Aussies of Dutch-Indonesian descent and that they also share a kinship with ethnic Dutch immigrants themselves.

@@bogobohoAustralia has a population of 27 million whilst it grows enough food to feed 90 million people annually (the rest is exported). I was so shocked when I walked around a Western-style supermarket in Singapore (also in Hong Kong), FULL of American groceries, dairy products, fresh food, Californian wine. Had never seen such things in my life. There is absolutely nothing from the US in an Australian supermarket, apart from maybe dried cranberries 😂. You say we are jealous of you, but most of the US has a terrible, terrible climate. The only place in the US with decent weather is California, or most of the west coast. Anything east of that has a terrible climate. Australia has the best weather, so mild, no wonder why we can grow enough food to feed 3x times our population! In Melbourne now, might go sit under the beautiful olive and lemon trees in my backyard 😂.

I think in countries like Australia there is a lot of anti Asian sentiment due to many Chinese workers moving to Australia. I’m Europe it’s mostly just racism. It’s much more rare in America and Canada, but if it ever happens then it’s either as a joke or anti migrant.
Didn't they used to ban immigrants from Asia under White Australia policy? Europeans killed off most of the indigenous population and stole their land. They're not from Asia...so it makes sense they don't identify with Asia.

I personally like all countries. Every country has beautiful aspects, and I don't quite understand the question. Is it referring to the country itself or the people? I love Australia... Good people, so many khind peoples. So many good vibes. Everything is slow in Australia. I have many sweet memories in Australia. Love from Malaysia...
My son in law came to Australia to play baseball for four months, met my daughter and never went home. He’s an American and you couldn’t meet a nicer bloke.
Americans might be surprised to see the hate because Australia is so popular in the US, although it’s not surprising to me because I’ve definitely had some bad experiences with Australians in my travels, including three Australians giving me a hard time on a flight when I hadn’t slept in two days and was going home early for the funeral of my best friend’s 16 year old daughter. It really changed how I think about people in general, and especially the acceptance of ritualistic anti-Americanism, which is something that I previously brushed off in my 45+ years of international travel.
They seem to be working toward the status of honorary Europeans in their anti-Americanism. I am not sure where they get the moral authority to criticize us. If it is just "politics" they don't like, I could name some pretty retrograde Australian policies, like the heavy emphasis on polluting mining operations, the treatment of Aboriginal communities over the centuries, and the xenophobic treatment of migrants (interning asylum-seekers in camps in Nauru and Papua New Guinea). No country is perfect, but we fought together in two world wars. That ought to count for something. Instead, we just get arrogance.
I think you said it best with "ritualistic anti-Americanism." As an American who has traveled and lived abroad, I have encountered this frequently. It's sometimes "cool" to be Anti-USA. However, most people who express these sentiments have not visited or known many Americans and I've found that those that have tend to have more positive views.
Howdy.Sorry about your bad experiences. I have been to and traveled Australia a few times. Most everybody I met was very friendly. Mostly. My Yank accent gave me away every time. Only once did I think I might get bashed at a pub (guy was drunk). I once got surly service in a cafe in Queensland. Not bad for a 3 month trip. Other than that most of my interactions were just fine. Majority of Aussies are pretty friendly.
It's projection coming from criminal descendents that stole the land from Aboriginal people whom they treat like garbage. They also have their fair share of fatties and dumbos.
Shame about those that choose to be here that dislike and disrespect Australians that build what they take for advantage. Not realizing that they are taking advantage of our open arms.
No one in the Indonesia video said Australia either. I'm Australian and apart from Bali holidays no one here really thinks about Indonesia, no offence 😁
That's unbelievable so many people hate USA and no one said China. Cause USA is the best ally of Aussie, and at same time Australia has very intense relationship with China. And there are several people said they didn't want to say.Are they want to say Asia countries like China but afraid to be labelled with racist?
I think it's moreso the US politics, gun violence and systematic problems (Healthcare, workers rights, abortions etc). I've been to the US twice and love it.
I've lived in the US and the people on the whole are really lovely. What concerns me is their fanaticism, gun violence and personality driven politics. It seems a very divided country.
USA is the biggest cause of instability in the world right now. Their destruction of traditional culture, racism against Europeans, unprovoked attacks on sovereign states, war mongering, gun violence, drug use, inhumane work culture. The world would be a more peaceful place without their toxic ways.

only from idiots (who rather hate western democracies than really odd countries with true dictatorships, oppression of females, antisemitism/antizionism, homophobia and so on). and the reality is that the US as Nr. 1 spot as migration destination (after that comes Germany) is not really hated by most people - just by brainless ideological zombies (part of the real problems in the world). one should always focus on the facts, not on (also usually selective) street interviews by bad youtubers who are even not able to dig a bit deeper and ask things like 'so you prefer Afghanistan/North Korea over the US? their politics? the crime rate in Brasil, South Africa etc.?'.
10 years ago, when a similar survey was conducted, most respondents called - the People's Republic of China (due to mass fights between migrants and locals, due to job losses), Indonesia (fear of the Islamic threat under the influence of the media), India (loss of jobs and unsanitary conditions), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (inflated thanks to the media nuclear threat, communist threat) A decade later, Australians are less concerned about movers, pool cleaners and guys with long beards. Having seen enough of the «culture of cancellation» with the persecution of politicians, actors and TV presenters, as well as the heroin streets of Philadelphia, Australians began to appreciate their Homeland more and rejoice that despite the censorship of the metropolis (London, England), the local regime has not yet begun to strangle the freedom of the speech and shut up the mouths of dissatisfied citizens. Fight, my «little» Australia, fight! Aussie, aussie, oi, oi, oi ! ! !
They seem so chill....my dad know a doctor who virtually travels every 3-4 months around the world and visited pretty much any country out there And he told him that Australia is one of the best countries he has been to.
Well, in the U.S. we read that Australia has problems with police violence against Aborigines and Australian women have been sexually assaulted in their own parliament building. So, I am not all that sure how safe people are there, either. Then you add in the draconian treatment of migrants and what you get is not that pretty a picture of Australia in our news. On the other hand, I could get off my high horse and actually go to the country to see for myself, couldn't I?
anti americans (usually racist, antisemitic/antizionist left wings who support themself crime and aggression from everyone who is not 'white/western' in the tradition of antiwestern socialist dictatorships) are stupid like hell. if you talk about politics than your first choice should be countries like afghanistan, north korea and so on, not the US. and regarding crime there are masses of other countries before the US (like many African countries, most of Latin America/Carabean and so on). Many people answer without brain and like scripts/zombies - in the reality if they had to choose between different planets like US or Afghanstan, Iran etc. they - surprisingly and hypocratical - choose totally different. And if the youtuber here (like most) was not so superficial but smarter he had insisted on such stupid answers with followup questions like 'ok, does that mean you prefer the politics in Afghanistan over the one in the US?'. But almost every youtuber fails already on such simple level ....

I came across this video and being from Papua New Guinea, thought to myself "I hope no one says Papua New Guinea"....of course the old guy says Papua New Guinea 🥲
Most who named the U.S. seem think you'll get shot dead the second you step off the plane. I've lived here 61 years, and for the past 23 years in the D.C. metro area. Never been shot at. Never even heard gunfire except for hunters when I lived out in the country. Your chances of survival are better than you think.
Perceptions of America are shaped by a world that is dominated by the interest in America. If you came here you would get a completely different perspective. As for guns ive traveled the entire country and have never seen a gun on anyone other than a cop. I live on the NJ shore and i while i love visiting other countries there really is no other place i would raise my family. The benefits of America far outway the negatives. As far as our politics yes they are messy but thats how our constitution was created the founders thought debate a good thing and they feared too much power in government hands was tyrannical so they created a system that fosters very open debate (1st Amendment) that some people find very shocking from the outside. The founders wanted to prevent too much power into one group or persons hands. They created the 2nd amendment to make sure if it did people could push back. Believe me there are many countries in the world that wished they had a 2nd amendment ie Russia north korea china cuba. People tend to think their countries governments would never turn against them and their wiil. History has proved thats a very dangerous and costly mindset. I hate guns but i also understand what the founders were thinking. Its not perfect and not for everyone but Americans cherish it. I think American politics concerns people outside of America more than Americans while Americans for the most part go on living. I understand we have a culture that has spread everywhere but its really a great place even with our problems. Just be open minded about America its really not as bad as you may see in the media. Its just a big very diverse country with many immigrants that brings people together from all over the world to live and prosper. Thats my rant thanks for reading. And BTW we love Australia so i was a bit shocked to hear those conments but if they just traveled to my little part of it they would be shocked
Agree amd we have to deal with that horror. We will live with the horrible decisions we made in history. Buy i do think America has made sure stuff works around the world .
No u can also say u don’t like a country if you’ve heard about it, u don’t have to go there to see for ur self..
I don't fear America they are the ones who saved china ass
I had a feeling most people would say the US. Most people don't like us, especially in other English speaking countries. But regardless I love Australians. They are really chill people.
Why you write thier gay american in past comment
It's like this guy's purpose is to find out how much America is hated.
I don't think it's Americans they don't like, it's aspects of the country's culture like gun violence and politics being so divided and crazy. I've lived here for 38 years and have never heard anyone say they don't like Americans, and all the Americans I have met living here love it
@@Lengstrom Ethnicity defines society and politics, right?

Australia so beautiful, look at the sky
Yep typical Australian mindset. Sorry you had to put up with that.

Yup. Dutch myself in origin and have been living in Australia for many years ...and I've noticed many that there are many Aussies of Dutch-Indonesian descent and that they also share a kinship with ethnic Dutch immigrants themselves.

Anyway, Australian people seem to be full of energy. It seems to be interesting because Australia is on the opposite side of my country seasonally.
Greetings from South Korea.
I think in countries like Australia there is a lot of anti Asian sentiment due to many Chinese workers moving to Australia. I’m Europe it’s mostly just racism. It’s much more rare in America and Canada, but if it ever happens then it’s either as a joke or anti migrant.
As an Indonesian, I don't like being identified as an Asian, I'd rather be identified just as an Indian islander.

What’s that make up 1:49
10 years ago, when a similar survey was conducted, most respondents called - the People's Republic of China (due to mass fights between migrants and locals, due to job losses), Indonesia (fear of the Islamic threat under the influence of the media), India (loss of jobs and unsanitary conditions), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (inflated thanks to the media nuclear threat, communist threat)
A decade later, Australians are less concerned about movers, pool cleaners and guys with long beards. Having seen enough of the «culture of cancellation» with the persecution of politicians, actors and TV presenters, as well as the heroin streets of Philadelphia, Australians began to appreciate their Homeland more and rejoice that despite the censorship of the metropolis (London, England), the local regime has not yet begun to strangle the freedom of the speech and shut up the mouths of dissatisfied citizens.

anti americans (usually racist, antisemitic/antizionist left wings who support themself crime and aggression from everyone who is not 'white/western' in the tradition of antiwestern socialist dictatorships) are stupid like hell. if you talk about politics than your first choice should be countries like afghanistan, north korea and so on, not the US. and regarding crime there are masses of other countries before the US (like many African countries, most of Latin America/Carabean and so on). AUSTRALIA IS GREAT. MY DREAM. HAD A GREAT TIME THERE, I MIGHT GO BACK THERE IN THE FUTURE...
