Man, everything I see in this video is illegal here in Germany. I enjoyed the freedom of my eSkate for one month until I got stopped by police in the middle of nowhere while going super slow and wearing protective gear. Now its just sitting here catching dust.

You've gotta see the irony of a disaster that was, at least in part, caused by global warning, and making a 5600 mile r/t flight to the state in the middle of the ocean, burning about 200 gallons of fuel (per passenger) and generating about 3700 lbs of CO2 (per passenger), for a charity ride to support the people of Maui. I mean, wouldn't it have been better to just donate the flight fare to those people so they can setup homes back on the mainland? You know, because actually living in Hawaii naturally comes with a massive carbon footprint given how much stuff needs to be shipped across the Pacific to Hawaii for the people to have all the comforts in life. Even the local fish... it's not exactly green to have inefficient fishing vessels burning oil to catch your dinner, nevermind the damage commercial fishing does to Oceanic ecology and the Ocean's ability to sequester carbon.
How about this idea for a donation; make sacrifices to cut your annual carbon footprint, thus helping to reduce the likelihood for tragedies like this in the future.
Afterall, Hawaii itself is responsible for one of the greatest environmental catastrophes on the planet. (Proportional to its size) Just the annual flights to and from Hawaii is likely responsible for injecting as much as, or possibly more than 78 billion pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere every single year. But then what do you expect... it's a huge vacation destination in the middle of the Pacific Ocean...
I mean... are people just being willfully ignorant and don't understand the impacts of their actions... or... do they acknowledge the damage they're causing and just don't care?
The irony of all of this is that you're going there to show support for the people involved in the tragic event... but then you're just making the environmental situation worse... And sadly, if the environment keeps getting worse, then the impacts to Maui is the least of our problems. Yes, empathize with the people that experience tragedies.... but also help to avoid these tragedies in the future! We're talking 106 people who died in Maui.... and yet how much damage to the rest of the world is the massive carbon footprint of Hawaii going to cause to the rest of the world? How about Libya for example, where over 5000 people are likely dead, and still thousands are missing. Like Maui, climate change wasn't the only reason... but it certainly helped.
Millions or even billions of people may soon be hurt, lose their lives, lose their homes, lose their livelihoods all across the planet.... just so wealthier people around the world can keep on keeping on, and flaunting their wealth, and throwing caution to the wind in the amount of resources they're using and CO2 they're producing. Are we going to fly to each of their nations and burn loads of oil in the process to show our support?
You can tell I'm a bit frustrated. Probably because I've been part of way too many conversations lately where people simply just don't care about the planet at all. They narcissistically prioritize their own entertainment and enjoyment over anything and everything else. Not spending all the loads of money they've earned on lavish things, how dare anyone suggest that! In fact, to them, to live sustainably and not take everything from the world that they can afford is a waste of a life. Well, in their bid to not waste their lives, they're wasting the lives of a lot of others.

At 0:38 seconds in the video, I gotta say, It's so irresponsible for someone to be carrying a dog their back while riding a EUC.
