“In hiring a great talent. One should 1.have mission and purpose
    2.behaviour or character
    3.have values and numbers
    4.performance
Teams with high performance is the winner”

Regarding #3: V+N are only important if means your quarterly report and stock price keeps the shareholders happy, the actual employees are immaterial and can be easily discarded as they are a cost not a value (ie you have to pay them so %10 of them can go away each year).

This has not been my experience. Rarely is it hire for talent. Often it's hiring not to train. Not out of cruelty, but because it's a buyers market in regards to labor. This is why I like this guy. He gets it. Meritocracy before nepotism. Hire for potential, not to cut corners and save money.

Hello, I love this video and often reference the 4 quadrants that Jack Welch explains here. I would love to be able to show it in his own words in workshops that I facilitate. By your sharing this may I have permission to use this video in my workshops or is that against your copyright terms. I am in no way looking to sell or monetize the video if used.

MBA has lost its shine. The course is now conducted everywhere.I think it is time Mr.Jack Welch consider another course of study.A Masters in Construction Auditing can be started. The course is not available in the world which has a global potential of 500,000 a year.

Let's eliminate the person who is just a bad person. Most owners get frustrated with being nice because most people are not self motivated to self correct. So finding nicer people over talented people who are all about the numbers actually makes a companies numbers better? Most of the time the average person calls a person a jerk because they are no about a bunch of excuses. That same jerk likes and respects the above average people and doesn't like the average and definitely the below average person who has a lot of excuses. Very tricky. Most people want a friendly company to thrive.
