We've had two attempted murders with Ghetsis and Ardos (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness), we've had someone try to commit genocide via death ray, we've had themes of child abuse with Ghetsis and Cyrus, and the latter tried to reset the universe and rule as a god....but damned if anyone else lived to see his world. We also have the Mystery Dungeon Explorers, where *spoilers* you're essentially on a suicide mission trying to rectify the bad future you come from, Darkrai tries getting you to off yourselves (tho any death words are not used, just disappear or leave, but skipping town won't exactly fix spacial distortions), etc. In GtI, Hydreigon is frozen and smashed in front of you by Kyurem, before he unleashes the mother of all beatdowns on you. The Cinderella version in my country is quite similar and also has a disturbing ending too but only some people knows it. So basically, Cinderella, after happily live with the prince, somehow killed her step sister and made a pie from her flesh. Then, she give it to the mother and say it was a gift for caring her. Like, some Pokemon do steal kids, Chandelure will burn your soul, Yveltal will kill you upon reviving, Darkrai can seal you in an eternal nightmare (and a child dies from this in game canon). Then let's look at our villains. We've had two attempted murders with Ghetsis and Ardos (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness), we've had someone try to commit genocide via death ray, we've had themes of child abuse with Ghetsis and Cyrus, and the latter tried to reset the universe and rule as a god....but damned if anyone else lived to see his world.
We also have the Mystery Dungeon Explorers, where *spoilers* you're essentially on a suicide mission trying to rectify the bad future you come from, Darkrai tries getting you to off yourselves (tho any death words are not used, just disappear or leave, but skipping town won't exactly fix spacial distortions), etc. In GtI, Hydreigon is frozen and smashed in front of you by Kyurem, before he unleashes the mother of all beatdowns on you. And not trying to go into spoilers for the recent PSMD, but the game deals with themes of depression and despair.

The Cinderella version in my country is quite similar and also has a disturbing ending too but only some people knows it. So basically, Cinderella, after happily live with the prince, somehow killed her step sister and made a pie from her flesh. Then, she give it to the mother and say it was a gift for caring her. The mother unhappily eat the pie and died from shock after she realized her daughter finger in the pie.

Actually one of my grandmothers told us all those stories raw, no sugar coting just raw and graphic while we were camping out in the woods, best times, i ever have any grand kids i will be telling them the horror versions.
