His breath control is superb. Although when did mental illness or insanity become something 'very good'? I truly can't think of anything worse than the feeling of going mad... 😔
THIS one. This was my introduction to Pentatonix. I had never heard of them--was just looking for a nice arrangement of "Carol of the Bells." That was July of 2013, and this video changed my life.
We could be twins! Same here. I was actually looking for a different performance of CoTB the same year, accidentally stumbled upon this and it was love at first listen! 😁
Matt did a phenomenal job covering the bass. I now do sometimes have trouble telling Matt and Avi apart with their bass lines. Like I said Matt did Avi proud with the way he took the bass and made it his own but kept the foundations Avi laid down.
😌Notice when Avi does the bomp bomp bomp Scott is doing second bass!! YES! Matt did an AMAZING job! PTX did perform this LIVE on several shows with Avi. YES! there is a few differences and you are right sometimes there is a certain way to sing live than for a recording👏😄
Thanks for doing this reaction. You are right "so much going on in this". Nice to see the old recorded version and see them doing it live, eight years later on that BYUTV Special a few weeks ago. When does Mitch breathe? Mitch is the master of vocal and breath control. All five of them just superb every time. Love this song more and more. I did notice on BYUTV that they were far apart from each other, they don't even look at each other, they all know their parts and listen to each other. You can see this also when Mitch sings as he often sings with his eyes closed and they are all in tune with each other - literally. Enjoyed the live stream yesterday with all the reactors!! Merry Christmas to you.
Just found your channel and I’m binging all your PTX reactions! Thank you!!! Your words of encouragement are just what I needed to hear today too 🥰 Subbed! Can’t wait for more!!!
This is from a couple yrs ago where they reacted to some of their own Christmas songs. They talked about the challenge behind making this video...not the singing, but the actual site itself lol ruclips.net/video/6nr4IPipbi4/видео.html
I just found your channel recently & I am loving it! If you haven't done it yet, you should react to their version of Little Drummer Boy. It is AMAZING! Fellow Christ follower here & I love that you are open about your faith on a public platform!
Thank you so much for watching and we are called to let our light shine, not hide it under a bush :) I will definitely react to LDB during the Christmas reactions this year. I have already started my list. God Bless
👋😄Dennis, YOU'LL LOVE the PTX cover of The First Noel, Joy To The World, Deck The Halls, Also LIVE versions of Wonderful Christmas Time, I Saw 3 Ships ...As someone mentioned PLEASE react to the recent PTX video of their behind the scenes for their Album Evergreen! Its AMAZING to see the process!!
Avi's resonant bass reverberates in your chest down to your toes when you hear him live. I went to 3 of his solo shows in 2019, and that voice hit you physically as well a emotionally.
How very sad for you then. Matt has done an amazing job - and in some respects is better than Avi for the direction that PTX is taking. It's not like this is the first band in the history of bands to have personnel changes. Somehow, Genesis managed to survive and thrive when Peter Gabriel left and Phil Collins took over. Even Home Free and VoicePlay have had SEVERAL personnel changes over the years, yet no one seems to lose their shit because of it - this year alone VP lost two members and up until recently have been using guest artists. PTX however are vilified because Avi chose to leave of his own accord. Having such a closed mind about a single person means you could only have ever been a superficial fan at best, otherwise you would have supported PTX in their journey. Their newest music over the last couple of years is absolute fire, so you're missing out on a lot.
Song Request: PTX Joyful Joyful (Sister Act 2 version). ruclips.net/video/xAtSRwrcTIw/видео.html This is a song they have done as an encore during both their 2019 and current Xmas tours. Its an epic song and performance very few people know about since its never been performed outside their tour. I've seen every video of this uploaded and the link I've included is the best IMO. Mitch absolutely slays this and Matt throws in a surprise at the end, lol...something you've never heard from him 🤣 There is a yule log audio version feat Jazmine Sullivan which if u want to check out as well, cool, but please do this one first. Shes great but maybe I'm biased cuz I prefer Mitch on the lead. I had Qofy react to it on his livestream and he was extremely impressed and has since reacted to the audio version. If u have never seen Sister Act 2, I recommend u check out that performance first but either way you'll still enjoy this 😉
Not sure if you are aware of why Avi left the group. They just go wat to big way to fast. Nerves couldn't handle it. Too bad, but Matt has done a great job filling the bass position.
They just uploaded a video yesterday of the behind the scenes of recording their Evergreen album in studio. Would love to see your reaction!
There is no one like Avi... His solo works is the best
Avi will always be my favorite as his tone is so unique throughout his whole register. Matt did a great job too. Thanks for this.
No-one can replace Avi's rich and rounded bass for me. He always was going to be a tough act to follow though - can't be easy for Matt.
Mitch's breath control is I N S A N E....
His breath control is superb.

Both had their high points. Both are great.

One of my favourite things to do is play a game of 'Is this Avi or Matt singing?'
Very well said
LOVE both versions. Can’t pick a favorite. I won’t do it! Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season to all! 🎄
I like how you pointed out the little things. I never did notice Kevin's little "tsktsktsk." And damn. Mitch's voice is beautiful.
😌Notice when Avi does the bomp bomp bomp Scott is doing second bass!!

Always a classic for the holidays. This is such an amazing arrangement.
While I do prefer Avi's bass and vocals I do think Matt has done a great job.
Same here. At least for this song. There are some songs where Matt's voice sounds better than Avi's would have. But for this song I like Avi better.
This one is my favorite version
I love when reactors go back to the originals
I saw an interview, where they talked about filming this. They had to carry a generator to the filming site.
Thanks for yesterday's live stream with the other reactors. That was fun.
Love this version - and love the recent live version - no favourite to me - but Avi is still in my heart! Merry Christmas to all.
Pentatonics recently uploaded a video of the making of there recent Christmas Album. I think you will like it.

Love this. I love Matt, but there are times when I miss Avi.
I believe this was the very first Christmas video they've done.

I love Scott, but it is nice for the others to have center stage, too.

I saw three ships is Awesome!
NOBODY does this like PTX.
breathe mitch breathe! i don't think he took a breath in the original or the live
Breathe, Mitch!!
Thanks. Both are amazing but live is really impressive. Merry Christmas King Family!
AVI!!!!!!! All the way.....Perfection....
Of course they didn't need to look at each other in the live version 4 of the 5 have been singing the same thing for 9 years.
Merry Christmas
Avi all the way.
I do not even bother to listen to them since
Avi left. He just added a depth and warmness no one else has.

@@elizabethfelet4743 We are all allowed to have our own opinions. And I am fully aware of changes in bands' members over the years.
