Let that sink in. Babyface and LaReid were responsible for the most successful music acts on the planet during the 90s. Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, TLC, Boys to Men and Mariah Carey all ranked in the top 10 most successful music acts in the world for the 90s decade with Mariah Carey being artist of the decade. La Reid and Babyface made Toni Braxton into a global commercial phenomenon with only two albums and at one point made her the highest paid female Pop artist on the planet with her record sales in 1997 of nearly $200 million dollars ($400 million today in 2022 which is equivalent to Drake's recent record contract the biggest in history) before her financial crisis in 1997. La and Babyface made TLC the biggest selling most successful female group in global history in the 90s and also helped Boys To Men become the biggest selling most successful male group in history at one point in time as well. Additionally La and Babyface helped Whitney Houston conquer the 90s like she ruled the 80s. LaFace Records was the most successful record label on the planet at one point in time and not only helped these acts, but also pioneered the careers of Usher (who would become the biggest Pop star on the planet and the most successful male Pop Star of the 2000s decade), OutKast (a major commercial and cultural phenomenon in Pop Culture), Pink (music Icon) , Ciara (Another music Icon) and so many acts to Donnell Jones and Kenny Latimore. La and Babyface also produced hits for Madonna, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and so many more legends. Additionally it would be Iconic to see La Reid and Babyface do a versuz Battle with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Both legendary music production acts are responsible for the biggest Pop hits in music within the last 40 or so years 😲😲😲😲😲
Exactly!! There are legends!! And, to see where your status as a producer, you gotta ask yourself if you worked with MJ!! Only a few producers in the R&B genre can say they did so like L.A & Babyface, Jam & Lewis, Rodney Jerkins, Teddy Riley or R Kelly! That's insane!! 🔥🔥🔥
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis vs Teddy Riley......Babyface vs Quincy Jones...if you add LA Reid to Babyface then you gotta vs them agains Jimmy Jam,Terry Lews and Teddy Riley lol for it to atleast some what of a vs....as in my opinion LA Face is unmatched.
I agree with all of this, except you're giving them too much credit on TLC, & they're not responsible for Mariah's success. TLC creative control was mostly handled by Dallas Austin, who produced most of their songs from jump(L.A Reid himself said when they signed TLC, they saw potential but didn't know what to do with them, so they handed them to Dallas.) TLC's biggest hits, responsible for most of their sales, were written/produced by Dallas (Creep, Unpretty* co-written by T-Boz), Organized Noize(Waterfalls) and Kandi + Shek'spere(No Scrubs.) None of their number 1 hits were created by LA & Babyface. Even their secondary hits, Baby face created only 3 (Baby Baby Baby, Red Light Special, & Diggin on you), and L.A co-created only ONE(Baby Baby Baby) As for Mariah, Walter Afanasieff, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal, and Mariah herself are responsible for writing/producing the vast majority of her 90s hits. Babyface & Reid are not responsible for Mariah's 90s hits; at all
That’s an era that will never be duplicated! Pretty much that what I still listen to.
You ain't NEVER lied.
My favs were the Johnny Gill hits! His self-titled album was so bomb! 💣
Yeaaah!! My, my, my", "Lady Dujour", " Just another lonely night" 🔥🔥🔥

Garth Brooks was named the artists of the decade (90s), not that Carey broad.
I can't believe he said 1991.
LA and Babyface parted ways as writing and producing partners in 1993/4.
Surprised you didn't have FACE on. He is the magic. L.A. was the business. Good musician though. Big up Deele!
They did have him, back in 2020

LA is one hell of a drum programer.

What’s the point of sugar Steve being there? No disrespect just don’t see him really engaged much.
