I've had this guy since his release. It's a pretty great toy. It's held together nicely despite been passed on to my two kids. Can't say the same for other newer figures.
I remember reading somewhere that he was designed that way. The feet were made to mimic chunky sneakers and the trunck of the car made to resemble a hoodie in robot mode.
I know it's probably wrong, but this looks a lot like the character model they used for Devastation. Kinda wish that they'd release the figure again so us who couldn't get it during the initial run had another shot at it.
Tim Primetal Thought so. Then they REALLY need to release this figure again, maybe find a way to work it into Titans Return or something. I did hear a rumor about Sixshot possibly being in Titans Return. Hoping that's true. We need an official Sixshot that can do everything the G1 figure could plus a headmaster gimmick.
Wait, there are "car guys"? Are they like Car Robots? ;) Kidding aside, I just use TFWiki to learn these kinds of things. I guess it is the "car guys" who post the information there, like: The Deluxe Classics Bumblebee transforms into a yellow hatchback sports car (labeled as a "cruiser" on the package) that's basically Hasbro's typical cross between several existing car models: The general shape of the car is based on a heavily customized one-of-a-kind 1992-1995 fifth generation Honda Civic hatchback with lots of aftermarket "ricer" add-ons (such as a large front bumper, large fenders and a large rear wing). The front section takes some design cues from various models of the Subaru Impreza WRX, namely the hood vent present on all models, the front grille of the 2004-05 WRX and the headlights and the midsection of the front bumper from the 2006-07 WRX STi. The shape of the rear fenders is also vaguely inspired by the Volkswagen New Beetle.
If you've ever seen the kind of guy who drives a kitted out hot hatchback towing a waterski, then you'd understand perfectly why this Bumblebee has a soul patch.
ROBOLORD 117 yea I have that one do you know where it came from, I thought forever I had a knockoff or something because everyone I ever saw was yellow and white
I have the legacy Bumblebee version of this mold that came with Movie and Animated versions of the character. I think he looks better with black stripes. He should be all yellow or have the movie style black stripes because white and yellow together is kind of bright and blinding. I think there were a couple other versions of this mold so I'm not sure if the one you're reviewing is the original or not. On my version the skido/flight pack thing has never actually clipped on. It's always just sort of loosely sat there. I think that's a sight of mold degradation from having so many reuses. The clip just isn't tight enough to actually stay in and it was like that right out of the package. Also... I never noticed there was another joint below the knee to allow his legs to rotate... I can't believe I've had this mold for years and didn't even know that point of articulation existed.
Lacking the Masterpiece version due to lack of income this is my favorite version of G1 Bumblebee. While I wish he at least came with a pistol or something, it's a good update, going for compact car instead of Beetle. I wish the movies had gone this route but Michael Bay ain't having no weak car or some stupid thing like that. If you turn the wings the other way the wheels look more like flight jets. The trailer can also partly transform, turning the Skidoo (yes, they still make them, I see them on game shows) into a mini flying drone, with the connecting tabs now guns in my imagination.
+ShadowWing Tronix CHUG= Classics, Henkai, Universe, and Generations its represents the lines that do updates of characters even if it's not part of those lines you use those terms cause adding more lines to name would make it pretty long
How is that even a fair comparison though? The Masterpiece is much newer and costs much more. Well, perhaps not with after market prices but you get the idea. One is a standard figure and other is a premium.
Suddenly Senpai well I only compare the quality and comparison to the cartoon/toy version of the character. But I get what you mean, he is pretty expensive, so I got the Takasa Tony version instead.
This is a prime example of why I never remotely liked classics in the slightest. For something called "Classics", this looks N O T H I N G like a bumblebee should, far from the classic look.

I looked at this Bumblebee as closer to a teen instead of a kid character

I like to play the "How long before TJ complains about current deluxe size" game with these videos.

CORRECT
Nah bro you're completely right. This is what they used.
Tim Primetal

+Dread Joker there's a picture for the box/card art
Well, the henkei one is more accurate being completely yellow, so there’s that
I wished they'd kept the jet pack for future toys
Bumblebee and the Bumbleski.

So instead of being a car guy, you read articles on tfwiki made by a conglomerate of car guys. I approve of this strategy
If you've ever seen the kind of guy who drives a kitted out hot hatchback towing a waterski, then you'd understand perfectly why this Bumblebee has a soul patch.
0:33 "I'll take your entire stock!"
isn't that paint job from the gift set that came with three bumblebees? or as I like to call it, bumblethree
This is the only Bumblebee that I have, want, or need in my collection. Love it
There's a version of this mold with black strips
ROBOLORD 117 yea I have that one do you know where it came from, I thought forever I had a knockoff or something because everyone I ever saw was yellow and white
i got the one from the walmart exclusive 3 pack with black stripes, and came with movie bee and animated bee
thats the legacy of bumblebee pack...
I used to have one of these. I miss it so much.
I still do but it's useless since the clear plastic hinge on the roof snapped clean off
I have the cliffjumper version. Only problem with it is the pegs that hold the doors on the arms broke and some of the joints are loose

wow, you actually lifted up the bumper to plug the waist in all the way. i've seen SO many other people completely miss this step, it's crazy.
Ironic how bee's first modern g1 esque was such a timeless classic.
(pun intended)
Nice review. It would have been cool if the trailer and water ski had transformed into a robot also.

well I think you mean CHUG not g1 cause this is supposed to be a reimagined verison of bumblebee
Not sure what CHUG means, but this is a new form for the original Bumblebee. That's what the line was about; same character, updated alt mode.
+ShadowWing Tronix CHUG= Classics, Henkai, Universe, and Generations its represents the lines that do updates of characters even if it's not part of those lines you use those terms cause adding more lines to name would make it pretty long
Jetfire48 Something of Japanese origins with a long name? Surely you jest.
I'm proud of Hasbro. They didn't have a single Bumblebee in the Combiner Wars line.
I enjoyed that too. The only bumblebee I need is the masterpiece one (I have one ^^)
Optimus though. They need to work on that.
So the wing pack DOES clip in?
If I ever made a classics version of animated bumblebee(based on a 10 years laters,) I would definitely have the clasics head as a base
do you no what day the Scott McNeil panel is?
Nice figure and review TJ.
Apparently he was designed to look like he was a teenager wearing a hoodie.
I can kinda see it.
Mine is exactly the same but has yellow arms
Is it ko? Or did the seller accidentally switch arms?
There is a version done with yellow arms and a different deco in vehicle mode, you might have that one.
@@TJOmega he has yellow stripes, a grey ski with a but of orange
Hes exactly the same as the classics but with yellow arms
@@KanterburyGuardian Sounds like you got a Frankenstein job out of the two versions then.
@@TJOmega oh thank god
I was worried it was ko
Mine broke first the door panel then the chest piece
I really like this guy.
Classic bumblebee is the best bumblebee toy ever.
you tj, my curiosity is itching to know: have u watched kamen rider amazons & if so, do u like the show so far?
I had the cliff jumper version
+LANDEN SHOCKLEY mine broke
+LANDEN SHOCKLEY same problem mine had and it freak windshield cracked
You haven't uploaded videos in while are you good
I have reveal the shield bumblebee it's alright but it's got a darker yellow to it
besides prime ,this is my favorite classics figure
This guy has to be in a classics display
0:06 dammit not again TJ! >:U
That is not facial hair on his head, I am pretty sure that is part of his helmet.
He knows that, he was joking
R/woosh
what happened to the plastic addict
Classics only had 11 mainline figures, that’s how small it is
Honestly, it looks like a Honda Civic with a wide body kit on it.
In car mode he looks like a chibi Energon Hot Shot.
the gotee thing is fine being if alpha trion can grow a beard then bumble bee can get a gotee
Masterpiece bumblebee > classics bumblebee
How is that even a fair comparison though? The Masterpiece is much newer and costs much more. Well, perhaps not with after market prices but you get the idea. One is a standard figure and other is a premium.

So detailed for a chug good OK day's
Its a Ford Focus Two door
Bumblebee mini Cooper edition
I say he's a riced Civic.
I'm kinda getting honda civic vibes from this figures
I own this and Grimlock
This is a prime example of why I never remotely liked classics in the slightest. For something called "Classics", this looks N O T H I N G like a bumblebee should, far from the classic look.
You DO realize that "classics" were not MEANT to be completely G1?
I thought that was abundantly obvious.
