Mihawkler, thanks for answering, I needed a wake up, had a brain freeze, one last question is how did you sew on the last end piece ??? My machine will not reach in to get it. Sorry to bother you so much, you did a great job on this video giving a lot of us the stuff we needed to get going on a parachute. Many Thanks
You either put the last two edges on top of each other facing the same way (outwards) or you roll up the whole canopy very tightly, wrap the last 10 cm of the bottom piece around that roll, sew the last two edges together facing the same way (you should end up with the whole canopy being inside the last cell section) and then try to turn the cell inside out (might be a little tricky) (push the tail through the nose)
@clayaway agreed.... You're not going to notice any difference if your measurments are screwed up. I messed up alot on mine too but you can hardly tell. Still works great!
@CLayaway1 It's alright, the ribs SHOULD actually be shorter than the tailing edge, that flat piece should be about 10cm long (no worries, it doesn't have to be too precise) That flat piece consists of 2 layers right? (the bottom and top skin). in order to keep them together i just sew along the tailing edge, so "close" the tail.
@CLayaway1 oh i had the same issue, my machine started to jam messing up everything, i started to experiment around with different sewing threads and smaller sized needles, it works perfectly now.
I did not see where Mihawkler sewed a hem around the top or bottom pieces, so I did it anyway a 1/8th hem I also did the front of the ribs. Another thing was to add thread to the locations where the lines were to be tied about three times forward and reverse on the sewing machine. Lastly, I was not as good at tying the cords as Milhawkler, so when I laid them out I color coded the ends, start end was blue, joined center for short line was green and the far end black, no more worry on did I get the right end, oh one other thing I did, after tying the cord to the canopy, I slipped a piece of heat shrink tubing over the ends left from the knot, secured the ends, worked fantastic.
Man, I'm 12yrs late, but. I wanted to make one of these and I having the issue where, when I attach the ribs on the bottom to the top it curves and it does not make a straight line when seen from above. I'm %99.99 sure you won't respond but, worth a shot.
dude seriously, how old are you?! i'd recommend you waiting about 5 years, increase your common sense enormously, learn some more english and then come back and follow the few easy steps in this tutorial.

The top piece need to be closed at the end of the canopy or it can be open ? Thanks

Are there any resources you used to figure out how to see the parachute together?

what kind of line do you use for sewing, some especial line or just normal one?? thanks a lot
Where do you get the light nylon fabric for the parachute? I cant seem to find it anywhere
@Mihawkler How do I sew the end? I've sewed everything together but I can't seem to sew the end
If anybody wants some help or advice making these, message me.
im using nylon thanks for the inspiration
I tried paper and failed it's just too stiff but latex actually sounds possible if you find very thin latex maybe :D
