    I am the mentioned Sasquatch bow shooter I guess........I own this bow and have a 32.5" draw length. I love this bow! I have only had it a short time but it fits me fantastic and it shoots so smooth!...........I shoot uncut 32" Victory Vap shafts.

      @garrettcurran3291 3 года назад

      Funny you say that, I also shoot uncut victory vap shafts at 32.5” but with a bowtech BT-MAG X. Got it a little bit before the atlas came out. Would have been interesting to be able to compare the two but I’ve shot bowtech all my life so there’s probably a bit of bias.

    I think in November we see a new cam for this that hits the standard d.l. range. Maybe 26 to 29 or 29.5 inch draw.
    I think, and hope I’m correct that we get a V3 33 or 32.5. Sort of a Traverse 2.0. That happens, I order immediately.

    • @Buran01
      @Buran01 3 года назад

      Hopefully. I was expecting a 35" with SW modules and the Atlas delivered... Until I saw the minimum dl (29.5" which usually with Mathews means near 30"). I shoot compounds around 29"-29.5" so was a bit sad to see this falling just out my range. I'm on the search of an hybrid 3D bow and currently undecided between the Remedy, the Nexus 6 or just to wait fall of this year to see if PSE releases a Mach 1 in 35" or Bowtech releases a new BT Mag with the Deadlock cam system. I hate how the market moved towards tiny axle to axle bows in the hunting department. Their string angles feel unnatural and we did successfully hunt with 70" longbows for millenia, why is every brand obssesed with sub 34" ata compounds for blind? That's more like fishing with dynamite in a fishbowl than propper hunting!

    Hello great review. Lol I have 33 1/2. D/L and I have tested the Atlas. My test used full length Beman ICS 100 GR. POINT for total weight 423. The 70 lbs mod. didn't have enough speed for me to consider the purchase for a 2021 bow then I tried the 75 lbs. Mods. and then the speed jumped to 316 fps. My new choice of arrows will be GoldTip hunter XT that come in at 414. This bow will be hitting 320 fps. Needless to say I bought the bow. Thank You!!

      Anthony which spine are you using to get a total weight that low? Seems like your draw length would make that arrow a wet noodle.

      I'm only a 28" dl, and shooting 502grn arrows into my targets with 75lbs is destroying my targets! Lol, you're going to be impressed, and then have to replace all of your targets in rapid succession.

    From experience and having the bow for a while that “residual vibration” (residual tuning fork vibration) can be taken out with Monkey Tails on the cables and on the string if you are willing to have extra weight on the string. The VXR‘s had monkey tails when they were sent out the Atlas did not idk why 🤷🏻 it makes a big difference

    I need some advice! I have a Mathews V3 and a TRX G2 for 3D but I’m thinking it makes more sense to have a back up hunting bow I can use for 3D and target snd with that brace height I’m debating trading out the TRX for the Atlas. Thoughts?

  • @repentant
    @repentant 3 года назад +1

    Your review is right on the money
    It’s perfect if your drawl length is over 30.5 and you want to shoot a Matthews or the real benefit comes from someone it was drawling at about 31.5 or 2 inches in on up
    I don’t really think I need it to be called a Sasquatch but I am not butt hurt about it laugh out loud

    • @James.712
      @James.712 3 года назад +1

      I think Mathews screwed the pooch here to a fault. If you are the average Joe (28 to 29 inch dl) that wants an ATA hunting bow greater than the V3, you need to squeeze and pay up for the TRX 34 ("converted target bow") I shoot 30 inches and test shot the Atlas alongside the V3 31 on Friday. After a couple of hours of due diligence at the shop, I drove home with the Atlas.... In my hands shooting blank bail at the shop, it just felt more comfortable than the 31 for me. I couldn't justify even looking at or putting the TRX 34 in my hands due to the price difference. I took the price difference between the Atlas and TRX 34 and rigged it out with quality accessories.

    For a person with a draw board measured 32.5 inch draw length do you recommend this bow over a Mathews traverse or an rx5? The rx5 seems to measure at 32.5 inch with the 32 inch modules. Do you still think that this bow is the best of the long draw bows?

Unfortunately in that time I broke 3 different sets of limbs due to no fault of my own. I would recommend staying away from the BT Mag X. Apparently they are notorious for limb issues.

      I haven’t calced it myself but according to the internet it’s around 310. It’s really not made for shorter draw lengths just like the new V3’s wouldn’t be fast at 26” draw.
