The placemats are gorgeous! The lighter color trim frames them nicely. It's amazing how much you accomplish in a day! My granddaughter likes to play shopping, too; there are alot of rules! I'm still learning 😅❤!!

Really helpful seeing you doing the fiddly bits on your tablemats. You just ripped out the old binding and got right on to adding a new color. I'm trying to sew. (Making a mess on a hot water bottle cover. Who knew seam allowances were such a big deal?). Guess I'll rip out the old stitches on my hot water cover and start again. I really made the stitches to last, though. Kept sewing around the pattern a few times.
Oh that is really hard to unpick. I hope it goes okay! If you are doing binding I would recommend hand sewing it down to get a really neat finish. It is hard to get the corners really neat when topstitching on the machine. I want to try applying the binding to the weong side next tjme and flipping it to the back so that if I machine it from the front I get the best finish on the front and the corners are easier to sew neatly x
Table mats look so stunningly chic shame to put a plate on them 😂🤣
