    • @omarmoataz
      @omarmoataz 4 года назад +34

      @@mysticranger6894 "this is a pure sport" has a different meaning to "this is pure sport". You understand the first sentence correctly. The second one means that people give up all their prejudices in life for the sake of doing that sport and trying to perfect it. That's not to say that the sport is pure in the sense that it's clean, it isn't. The difference is subtle, I know.

      Thank you brother, I am telling you Islam is about being leveled, patient and self-controlled. It is hard to achieve and 99% of us muslims don't act like muslims or as we should. So yes Habib and firaz aswell because he is extremely educated all around are great representatives and there is no doubt they are the way they are because of the Islamic principles taught to them.

    We definitely need more of this mentality. The part where he talked about you shouldn’t let knowledge go away from you, and knowledge is power. That’s there what Muslims need the most right now. Learn anything and everything, truth can never harm you.
    You’ll find people ( sometimes scholars ) trying to convince that learning philosophy is harm. others will tell you to not waist your time with modern knowledge. even worse, some people will tell you to listen to certain people, read certain books, and that’s it, you don’t need to learn more. And that exactly the mindset that brought the umah down. So don’t listen to them. Listen to that man instead. He knows how to build champions, and we need more champions.

      In Islam the main problem with such sports is that it encourages attacking the face - the identity, dignity and honour of people lie in here so it's considered extremely bad to make bleed people's faces.
      Have a good one.

    • @Cup.cake991

      @IFFI But bruva, the thing is the relevant hadiths does not contain any explicit statement to say striking face is not allowed, but rather should be avoided out of respect, making it makruh rather than haram. Furthermore, look at Sahih Muslim 4131 - this contradicts all the hadiths on hitting the face

    • @Cup.cake991
      @Cup.cake991 5 лет назад +3

      @Zaid Shakil Why does it not contradict anything? It clearly contradicts the second paragraph (tafsir) you presented, because the criminals' eyes were gauged out. I know it was for punishment, but if striking the face is haram (explained by the tafsir you mentioned), then why did our Prophet SAW do this, when there are obviously other ways and that the Quran doesn't specifically say to do this action?
      Perhaps it seems like you are just trying to justify reasons to ensure this remains haram.
      Even if I give you the benefit of the doubt, the hadiths (e.g the last one you presented), does not explicitly state it's forbidden, as I've stated before. Rather it just states the face should be respected and avoided, thus making it makruh?

    It ISN'T just about the injuries sustained in matches (which might as well be inconsequential as he says) , it's about the repeated head trauma that contact sports players can sustain!
    Most professional boxers have some degree of brain damage, even if they don't exhibit symptoms just yet. MMA just hasn't been looked at as much as boxing, due to it being new and current practicioners just haven't aged enough yet. I really dislike this sugar coating when people's lives and wellbeing may be at risk. Also, I agree that we can't always know what's good for self defense unless we actually try it out, but there better ways for us to know.

      Sparring is a legit way to know what works and what doesn't, fighting until someone is so injured to the extent of not being able to continue the fight or until someone is KO'd, (and that happens A LOT in professional fighting), and REPEATED max-power blows to the head are common place and encouraged, you can get similar results without having devastating effects on people's future lives...that is if the intent is actually to learn more about self defense and not for the fame or fortune. I love martial arts, but not the professional life of it where people are affected in horrible ways and no light is shed on what happens to them later on in their lives

    • @dmaxdan8651
      @dmaxdan8651 5 лет назад +3

      That is simply not true. As for brain injury boxing is far more dangerous cause youre limited to head and body, while MMA rules allows all other targets. Time has nothing to do with it, like u proposed. And if u listened you would understand, instead trying to score points on matter. There isnt any other way to figure out if something works than to compete. Sparring is not enough and I´ll give you an example that you can not refute. There is a lot of traditional martial arts. They all learn and spar but they dont compete. Most of them dont work today. Wrestling, jiu-juitsu, boxing, muay thai, kick boxing and the rest of competitive martial arts work, why? Because they compete. And very rare fights are to the extreme unlike a picture youre trying to paint. There is nothing wrong with beeing famous and earning money, Look at Khabib example of beeing known world wide, earning money and what he does with it, similar with his last opponent Poirier. You are really trying to paint picture to justifiy your points making us look at it, as if its truth, which it isnt.

The scholars gave a fatwa about this long time ago, with evidences. So punching in the face is haram in sparring or in the cage/boxingring, accept for selfdifense. By the way punching or harming is not the only problem, there are many like music, mixing with woman, showing body parts who are not allowed to show, ringgirls, promotion of haram and so on. Although, I don't think his stance on a ketogenic diet is informed/accurate. He was asked and he gave his opinion but there are many athletes that stay in ketosis without consuming pre-workout carbohydrates, especially endurance athletes. If anyone is interested check out Thomas Delauer's or Dr Berg's youtube channels. Their focus is on fasting/ketosis so his knowledge is much more specialised.
