For those of who watched the video and hoped he would add the update on the description whether the latercase worked with the iPhone 13 pro max but didn’t see it. I can confirm the Latercase for the iPhone 13 Pro Max Cyber edition works perfectly. You don’t need to remove the rubber inserts and the passthrough charger works.
This entire device is like a basically making ur phone into a switch and for 60 on sale rn and the sticks are better than joy cons you bet I'ma comp
Bought it DONT regret it one bit
@@glassymink230 which games do you play with the Kishi?
$45 right now
I just got the Kishi about a week ago and it works amazing with emulators! A lot of those sideloaded apps like Delta, retro arch, and PPSSPP have native controller support, making emulation a thing of beauty on the iPhone. I also purchased a black shark semiconductor fan to push my phone just a bit more while gaming and I’ve also loved the experience!
Yo, does brawl stars work on it?
@@Wggamingyt23 unfortunately not 😭 I love brawlstars and it doesn’t work at all right now. You can play Brawlhalla but I know the two are nothing alike
The kishi v1 right?? How does the controller go on emulators on iPhone??
@@noonereallycaredaboutyou works well with dolphin, ppsspp, and delta. i havent tried any others
This is gonna be HUGE for emulation
I keep passing my eyeballs past this thing since Xbox Cloud Streaming came to iOS. I REALLY wish you would have covered that experience in this review because my iPhone 13 Pro, this Razer Kishi, and Cloud Streaming are sounding like a real tempting combo. If Razer had only made the thing have a wireless option, so you COULD use it as an iPad Bluetooth controller or something similar, it would be SUCH an easier buy. I don’t really want to carry multiple controllers when traveling.
There’s slight input lag with Xbox cloud streaming but besides that this works amazingly for that.
I don’t personally use that service so I didn’t cover it but I have a friend that does and he enjoys it.
Edit: just be aware you’ll need to take any case off your iPhone 13 pro to make it work with the camera bump
@@TechSpaceCowboy BIG THANKS for case information too because I’m typically like you and cannot stand having no case on my iPhone but with this iPhone, I splurged a bit on the AppleCare and went for a slimmer case from Encased than my usual Unicorn Beetle or Otterbox ones, so I can clip my phone to my belt (I have no idea how dudes feel safe letting the Pro Max float around in their pockets) but it may still not be as thin as these ones you mentioned in the video.
Doesn’t seem like this controller is the perfect yet but maybe it’s the best one out there for now. Glad you covered these details, bro!
I have tried it on Halo Infinite on xbox cloud gaming and was very pleased. It ran smooth, no noticeable lags, etc. I have an iPhone 11. Just got it last night but couple of hours playing the campaign. Was charging while playing.. iPhone got warm but that was 2 hrs of graphics work out. I recommend !!!
@@TechSpaceCowboy update on the phone case fitting in?
There’s input lag in some games. But i mostly play gears tactics so it’s perfect!
First video I found for the Razer Kishi that actually gives examples of some games that ACTUALLY work, instead of a 45min video of games that DON’T work. Best review vid that I’ve found for this device BY FAR.
ditto, was searching for compatible games info
The Kishi is great for Xcloud and console streaming.
Wife got me one for Christmas. Now if main TV is being used I can play on my iPhone.
Been playing for a month now and it’s awesome. Super responsive, the buttons are a bit mushy though but you get used to it.
It really expands the gaming experience on your phone and worth it if you have Xcloud. I also played Apple Knight and found it super responsive.
If you want to game on your phone like a Nintendo Switch then this is a great option.
Love the microphone chat, ironically funny
Your the reason I got this over the backbone! I have an iphone 13 pro max plus I like bigger buttons and thumb sticks! That’s the one thing I don’t like about the switch is the small thumb sticks and buttons
I have the USB-C version of this and it's great for Android emulators. I agree that the joysticks are awesome but I think the face buttons and d-pad are too mushy. It's not a problem for JRPGs but platformers and any other button-mashing games aren't the best experience.
Dos it work wit COD Mobile?
Okay here is a honest review from someone using it on a constant basis, I use for about 3-4 hours a day often anywhere from 4-6 days a week because I recently moved to South Korea and had to sell all my gaming equipment back home in America. So first things first form factor is absolutely amazing I do have quite small hands especially for a guy but I can say those with bigger hands will appreciate how much bigger the size on this one is compared to something like the backbone or the new V2 kishi. Second on the topic of 13 pro max and cases I actually recommend using one with the Kishi if you have a thin case because the camera bump can get annoying without something to raise the phone to be level with the camera bump I had one of those old custom print clear cases lying around and it fit fine and rather snug which actually helped make it feel a bit more stable for those who worry about that. Lastly on the quality of the buttons and joysticks, the joysticks in my opinion are top of the large scale telescopic controller field, a lot of other brands use switch style joystick and those suck pretty hard honestly especially since there’s always the risk of constant stick drift, now the face buttons honestly they aren’t the best I would say they’re comparable to a Xbox 360 controller but honestly I haven’t had them give me any issue, lastly the triggers and bumpers are actually pretty damn good in all honesty they’ve got a nice feel and sit at a rather nice profile so you don’t feel like when you set you phone down it’s pressing against them like how I’ve noticed with other controllers at this price point. Over all amazing controller I recently ordered another one though because I will say be careful about this thing dropping due to it being quite hollow the internals can get very damaged if you drop it too hard.
Wow great review. I just ordered a backbone a few days ago and it's about to come in when I find this video, so a little bummed but I will now be ordering the Kishi and I guess I just compare the 2.
I have a backbone video too, check that out.
I also reviewed the steel series nimbus and will be doing one on the otter box attachment for Xbox controller gaming on a phone
Hi Guys. Does this work with Mobile Legends IOS?
I'm using the usb-c version for Xbox gamepass and ps5 remote play. It feels great and the analog triggers are great!
Great review!! Bought it immediately and it’s so nice 🤝❤️💯
The analog triggers are for streaming console/PC games that actually use them
You gained a sub. Buying this based off your review.
Ive thought about buying this for the 13 Pro Max for a while now, but Ive been on the fence about it!
I use mine for remote play on ps4, it’s really responsive and i enjoy it a lot for the price (it’s now lowered to 45$ on Amazon since they have came out with version 2)
Awesome just come back to apple after a few years with Samsung . Love the look of this controller 😍 stunning video ty
works AMAZING for apex legends mobile FYI
great review, thank you for helping me make an informed decision
Why were you struggling to say Kishi when you said it the same way 3 times.
Great channel man. Keep up the quality and I can easily see those sub numbers going up quickly
So glad you mentioned the joysticks.. NO OTHER review I’ve seen has.
I was super tempted to get the backbone since many have said it’s better button wise. But didn’t say anything about joysticks.
The regular Xbox controller is mushy anyway and good joysticks are way more important for feel imo. That’s why I completely despise the PlayStation controllers 😂
If this goes for $60ish on Black Friday I’m in!
Got the recent Xbox game pass ultimate (w/ Xbox cloud) for $3/mo deal
I reviewed the backbone and the SteelSeries Nimbus recently too. Of the 3 this is my favorite. If only it worked with the camera bump on the 13 pro…
Be forewarned, Backbone doesn't fit the iPhone 13 Pro's camera bump. They have a design you can download to get 3D printed to add a wedge to the left side controller so it fits, but the Backbone is more expensive than this controller and the Kishi doesn't require any such accommodations.
@@jaehanley even with the adapter the backbone doesn't sit flat it's cocked at an angle (the side with the camera bump is taller)
I'm the complete opposite, I own an xbox one controller and ps5 controller and the xbox controller feels like crap when compared to the study build of the ps5 controller
Damn, this guy is insanely fit!
Hey thanks!
I purchased this controller only to play PUBG mobile with it but it was not supported, I was very disappointed 😔…
Purchased my Kishi for Rocket League Side Swipe. Best decision ever. You will go up RANKS
Good video. First video I have ever watched I don’t feel like a robot was explaining things. It’s nice when I see the maker of the video be human on the descriptions of the products. Keep going bro. I liked it. RUclips needs to get rid of robots and use humans like this to explain things. This guy makes me feel like I am actually right in front of him while making the video. Also most videos feel like they only for fame and likes. It don’t feel like most videos are trying to help. It feels like they make videos just for the money. Well to get to the money think of me first. I am the money and the rest of the world. We are the fame so be realistic with us and we will be nice back 😊
Yah agreed. Linus tech tips and many other big RUclipsrs are far too scripted. I don’t use a script at all. I just hit talking points I want to make sure I don’t forget while filming.
I ordered this yesterday for ps5/Xbox remote play. After seeing this video I am very hopeful will be good fit for me.
PS: really liked how you talked about difference in joy sticks compared to backbone one in different video which no one else has mentioned
How’s your experiance with PS5 remote play? It’s worth it to buy that grip?
Thanks for the review, it works really great with Genshin Impact. I love it!!
The exact comment I was looking for
Was looking for this response!
What phone are you using with it? I have a iPhone 13 Pro Max and I just bought the Rotor Riot to play Genshin and it works good enough but it’s a little too big to be taking out of the house. I’m thinking of returning it for the Kishi but I also keeping reading reviews of people saying that it is breaking not long after buying it. How do you like it so far?
@@aienjell iPhone 13 Pro Max same! Go get it mate!
@@NJ69NJ Thanks for the quick reply! I’ve been anxious all day trying to decide whether to pull the trigger. Guess I’ll head to Best Buy later today.
This controller is hands down the best purchase I made for mobile gaming regardless of what the popular opinion is this thing shlappsss
Does it support iOS 16
Try a mic sock it will stop the wind noise when you talk..
great review thanks ..
taking case off is a pain but I guess I get to see true colour of the phone
This is just as good as the PlayStation backbone I love both of them and have both of them, I use this one on my iPad mini and use the back bone for my iPhone
Do you use the Android v1 version on iPhone ?
I would like to use it on iPhone 15 pro Max which has usb c
You made one comment that really resonated with me about it not really inspiring you to play more than you already do. I’m really excited about trying either one of these or the backbone with a Skyrim or genshin type of game but it sounds like I may want to hold off a bit for some improvements on both the software and the hardware fronts. I do appreciate the thorough review - this helped me realize I think I’ll probably prefer the kishi over the backbone when the time comes.
Honestly I use my old ps4 remote and bought a phone mount for like $12
I’m trying a mount soon with Xbox controller. I think that’s looking like that’s gonna be the move.
Nice review you covered a lot here. I wouldn't pay $100 for this but Best Buy and Amazon have it on sale for $60 that was an instant buy for me and I like the portability of the Kishi but also have a Rotor Riot I got on sale and that one just feels much better, I think that might be because of familiarity with design but going to stick with the Kishi for a few weeks before I decide if it's a keeper or stick with the Rotor Riot.
I tried the rotor riot one and I really didn’t like it.
I would pick me up a Kishi on that sale though… awesome deal.
Could you tell me if you stuck with the Kishi? I just bought the Rotor Riot and I like it but I wouldn’t like to bring it outside so if the Kishi is as good as the Rotor Riot I will exchange it, thanks.
Did the case work?
Great video! I just grabbed one on sale from Best Buy for $55 off.
I wonder if it will work with my Razer case? You’d figure they’d make their own cases compatible but I kinda doubt it 😄
Got mine secondhand for 25€ been enjoying it the past couple days playing farming simulator and grid
So if you use a case, then the iphone won't fit? That sucks, was hoping I could use it without removing the case everytime :/
Correct. With the pro and pro max unless you can maybe get a LaterCase you have to remove the case. I am getting a backbone soon with the iPhone 13 adapter so look for that video when it comes out for a possibly better solution
Not sure if it's the same on iPhone, but for android I had some issues with some of the phone's accessibility settings interfering with the input. Some games worked, others didn't at all, and some only a couple buttons worked. Worth keeping in mind and maybe looking into.
it's a bug on android 11. google knows about it for a year now and still won't fix it, disabling all acessibility features solves the problem on some phones, on android 12 the bug is solved.
Can you Play World of Tanks with this
What controller pad works for pubg mobile on iPhone ?????? I need help
got this on amazong for 43$ great deal and exited
Tripped on this video on a 2 AM, "convince myself to buy this" Google search. Still kinda in the middle, as the main game I really see myself getting good use out of this is Apex on Mobile when that releases sometime in the next couple of months. Fantastic, informative video. Fingers crossed it works!
Hi , is it compatible with iPhone 14 pro max? Also does it scratch the phone?
What I’d wish is if they upped the max sensitivity. Cause I tried Genshin with an xbox controller and it was good. But the max sense is still FAR slower than what I’d actually use. That also happens with cod: mobile. I’d assume it would be the same sense with all controllers so I just hope they could up that sometime in the future
Good points
Great video. Keep at it
this thing makes call of duty mobile actually look fun
Omg so fun. I don’t even like shooters and I love it
1000% I use my console controller to shred on mobile sometimes
I have been playing CODM since launch with a PS4 controller but the Kishi is of course better for obvious reasons! Those 6 games don’t support any controller though, that’s not exclusive to the Kishi, just fyi!
Isn't this controller have different input modes too? I can see a led indicator on the right side, maybe showing the input mode? Because bluetooth controllers like ipega red knight has multiple input modes. First is the immitation of touching the screen and the other main is the "dedicated" controller controlling which is only works on games which are natively having controller support. Like Farming Simulator series are all supports it as I know. I wonder if we can connect Kishi to PC and use it as a normal controller through USB? Anyone knows it?
Im trying to find out whether the thumbsticks on the v2 and v2 pro model is any different if not better
Does it work for World War Heroes game???
Great review but you should know that all games which didn’t work weren’t compatible with controller at all like PUBG… because ratet kishi is like a Xbox Controller for the iOS so all Xbox controller compatible games will work
How can I play Pubg with the razer kishi??
I bought this for my Android phone for call of duty mobile and it didn't work is I they I've for my iphone will It work?
This is the best controller I’ve bought ! , and bro you sound like Chris Evans haha 💯💪🏽
Hi! I just buy one of these controller. The light is never on. What should I do to connect it ?
A few thoughts right off the bat:
1: was that keemstar yelling in the intro?
2: why was “firearms” the first thing that popped into your head when thinking about “enthusiast level”?
Because I’m in the military.
Grid Autosport uses analog triggers
Heyo, does this review still hold up to date? been thinking about getting one and after your backbone
review no way in hell i’m getting that!
Not working on Mobile Legend!🤬
If you use that Controller in COD Mobile are u getting matched to PC Players?
My hands dig in to the back of this thing because my pinkys have no where to go.
Does this support football games to play
Can it fit normal iPhone 13 and does it work for Minecraft
Might be a silly question but will the iPhone variant Kishi V1 work with an Android phone? Thank you.
It will not
Does the Kishi fit the 14 pro max
Have you tried playdeads inside with this controller?
I’m using the backbone one controller and some of the buttons don’t work on select games that are controller supported.
I haven’t! Wish I had though, great game. Every game I tried with backbone seemed to work similarly to Razer Kishi though
How do you get it to work? I have a 12 pro max and this does not work with cod mobile for me
Really? I just plugged it in. Do you have the latest software and are using it without a case?
I’m impressed you haven’t mentioned Xbox Cloud Gaming! There, I bet the shoulder triggers make total sense. Great review otherwise.
Yeah it’s something I haven’t dabbled in yet. But that makes perfect sense
Hi, I just bought one and I like it but I’m trying to play gta 5 and I don’t know how shows the interaction menu?
Which is compatible with pubg?
Does it work with Flight Simulator 2020?
Don't have headphone for PUBG?
Does it work for cod mobile for iPhone?
12 mini which rubber pad ?
Will this work if I put my Xs with a case on it?
100% agree with him with COD
So, does anyone know if it would fit an s21 plus with a case on it? It's not an Otterbox so it's not overly bigger but it's slightly bigger....
If you get the android version I’m sure it will assuming your case isn’t too crazy, but quickly while it’s on this great Black Friday sale for $59, and if it doesn’t just return it.
❗️❗️ I bought a Razer Kishi and i put a iPhone 12 Pro Max in it, but COD Mobile didn‘t work. PLEASE HELP ME. Thank you
How are you getting it to work with COD?
Joystick sensivity settings ?
Did you ever get the thin case in and try it out?
I didn’t. They still haven’t shipped it… never buy from LaterCase.
Its supported on wild rift ?
Thank you. I've been researching this, and noticed Razer has two models on their website. I was wondering the difference between Razer Kishi for iPhone and Razer Kishi for iPhone (Xbox). The price point is the same and the pictures look the same. I can't tell the difference between the two models and wondering if you might know?
I don’t think they’re different, but now im not sure
@@TechSpaceCowboy thanks I think you’re right, the difference in the Xbox version appears cosmetic for branding and I think that the Xbox version also comes with a special offer and discounts for Game Pass.
The Xbox one just comes with a Month trial to Xbox game pass.
@@Mikethepsyc Thanks
Can you map this controller?
Awesome vid
Does fifa work
Buttons are too mushy and flat
Don’t like. On the 13 pro it is loose on the left side and just doesn’t feel secure. Can’t do it.
Dude did you receive the thin case for the 13PM? If yes, did it fit the Razer Kishi? Would appreciate an update.
I did get it. And yea it works. It’s not perfect, but if you already have a Kishi and 13 pro I’d get the LaterCase
did you ever feel like there was pressure on the phone? like, did you feel any bending when playing? the rubber band worries me.
It takes an immense amount of force to bend an iPhone these days, far more than this case would ever do before the plastic and rubber would buckle
@@TechSpaceCowboy no not the phone. I'm afraid the controller will break with the USB C/Lightning port clogged, if that makes sense? XD
@@cubemage3336why would that happen
Looking on purchasing this for my son. Does this work with games that he downloads from his iphone through apple store or pre installed games on the controller?
Late reply but whatever. Sure works with many or some of the appstore games. Those that support external controllers. Which is a lot of games like racing and shooter. But not touch focused games. And then also works with cloud gaming.
You forgot to mention the main reason to buy this…. CLOUD GAMING.
Stadia
GForce Now
Xbox Gamepass
I didn’t forget, I just don’t use those services. I don’t like cloud gaming too much because I play rocket league mainly and input lag is not great still
I don't know how people play COD with controller. I have Razer Kishi and I am really bad at COD with it. I can't aim fast enough. I prefer play without it. But Razer Kishi is super good with racing and platform games.
Oh interesting. Do you play simple control mode or advanced?
@@TechSpaceCowboy hmm good question :) i believe it's normal? I need to check that part. Does it make difference?
Yeah I find the advanced mode to be really hard cuz it uses more touch screen buttons
COD mobile with ps4 controller works awesome. Adjust your settings for the controller and aiming is the same if not better IMO.
Did you try out x cloud?
I didn’t no, but a friend of mine says this works decently with it
My recommendations; Dead cells, slay the spire, grid Autosport, Apple Arcade as a whole.
Cod mobile is ONLY BOTS, im tired of people talking about cod mobile…
Did anybody tested it with Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd? Can anyone tell me is it work with these games?
It supports Genshin Impact
@@wuxiao1481 thanks, how about Honkai Impact 3rd?
Does anyone know of you can use it with an iPhone 13 with the apple branded silicone case? If not, that’s a deal breaker for me
13 maybe. 13 pro no.
I used it without a case for iPhone 13 and is not compatible.
Have you tried Steam Link?
With iPhone 15 pro work?
Yes
