Until the person is actually convicted, it’s probably a legal issue about showing their faces, to prevent problems with prejudiced jury selection.
I’ve heard that, for example, potential jurors are asked if they have had a homicide in their family, and are excluded from serving in a homicide case, if so - because they would likely have prejudice towards the defendant.

Customers also have to request that a store employee bring out an item for them to look at. Someone would have to smash through the door during store hours to be able to steal what's there. After-hours, these products are removed from the store and kept in an undisclosed location. Ever since these measures have been implemented, this store has had no smash & grab issues.

Do you know how that started? Back in the day your white ancestors Mr. Hill, use to gather branches to build fires, but eventually the nobles were getting tired of seeing peasants in the fields collecting fire wood. There were no laws against these things because there was no real law declaring "private property" nor a law that said picking up wood was a crime. Everyone would get executed in these days so chopping a persons head or hands for "stealing" wasn't really necessary (unless these actions were directed towards the king). Laws had to be created though to stop these poor people. The creation of a place where they can be placed to "learn" their lesson was created. This gave way to new laws as well, such as trespassing. Suddenly this system worked. The rich kept their privacy, extended their influence, created a system of discipline training for subordination and the rest is history. Now we have prisons, petty laws, and poverty. Yeah your way of justice Mr. Hill just perpetuates these outcomes and behaviors. Defend the rich and they will surely keep doing what they do best; divide and conquer. Don't defend them and you will surely be guilt tripped to anyway.

I had 29 stops all that month out of 31day in total the 2 years I worked I made over 300+ stops in the time I worked there built a great relationship with local PD and ORC the mangers over me spoke out and were frustrated with me as thier/TJ Maxxs policy was for loss prevention not to speak with above said people. The funny fact is the officers were so pissed that TJ Maxx fired me they stopped showing up to theft reports, in the end they closed down 6 months later after I left that store oh and they refused to give me backup!! When I was young, I worked at Best Products, which was a Showroom Display Warehouse store. There was one of everything on display on the store floor, and customers would fill out order slips as they shopped. I worked in the basement, where the orders came down in tubes. Then, we would pull the orders and send them up a conveyor belt, where the customer would be called to pick up their orders & pay. Bigger items were given at the loading dock. There was very little theft, because there were showroom associates working upstairs, and there was no unattended, loose merchandise to shoplift! I always wonder why no stores do this now. They could even warehouse half the store for this, and only have a showroom of merchandise.
It was faster to shop this way than to have to have an associate unlock a cabinet for deoderant or whatever!
In-person shopping is going to fail the way it's going, causing more job losses and less social interaction between people, leading to more isolation and depression.
The pandemic lockdowns already sealed that deal badly enough. We can hardly be called a society anymore, sadly.
