ISOTunes Hearing Protection - Pro 2.0 Earbuds VS LINKS Earmuffs Review - Which One is Better?

- Опубликовано: 20 окт 2024
- This is a review of the ISOtunes Pro 2.0 earbuds and the LiNK earmuffs. I disclose which one I think is better. Like many of you there are times in my shop when the noise level goes above the level recommended for prolonged exposure. I also like to listen to music when I work. These ISOtunes devises really help for both. My hearing is protected and I can listen to the music I like. I've now had a chance to test out both the OSOtunes Pro 2.0 Earbuds and the newer ISOtunes Link Earmuffs. This is an independent review of both of these including which one I think is better.

👍 Sold me on both! Just ordered the Link Aware and looking forward to giving it a run for my loud noise activities. After seeing your shop applications, I easily see the rationale for having both the ear pod and muff versions for a full arsenal of ear protection
Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope it all works out for you. The Link Aware sounds like an interesting new advancement. Let me know how you like them.
I like the slow men at work sign in the background. My work needs one of those . Good video.👍
Thank you Don. I don't normally leave comments but this was a very informative video.
Great review ! After watching your video I have a great respect for you. From Romania, with respect, Daniel.
Daniel - Thank you very much. I try my best to be honest with my videos and glad to see that people recognize my honesty. I appreciate your comment.
Thanks for your review. It was a big help. Cute doggo.
Hi Simon, thanks for watching. I appreciate the comment and glad I was able to help.
Great video and review. Great production value too. I’ve subscribed!
Hi Daniel. Thank you for watching and subscribing. I truly appreciate your comments. The goal I’ve set for my channel is to help other woodworkers.
@@wb_finewoodworking My pleasure! I’m a fellow woodworker just starting out in August. Your reviews are straight forward, informative and helpful. Keep up the great work and thank you!
Great info Don. One day I will get a set of Link earmuffs. I hate ear buds, they always feel uncomfortable to me.
Sometimes they go on sale or a few makers may still have discount codes for ISOtunes. I got mine for 10% off from Tool Nut even though they weren’t on the ISOtunes sale.
Thanks for your time on this :)
Thank you for watching. I hope the video helped.
Great info on not hearing the music with the pro version as much with loud background noise.
Thank you for watching. I hope the information was helpful and continue using both in my shop.
I don't know where you live, but I live in Florida. Have you found any issue with overheating around the ears with the Link?
My shop now has a good mini split so as soon as it starts getting hot I turn on the AC. I can say that back before my shop had AC that I didn’t have issues when I wore ear muffs to deaden the sound. We don’t have near the issue with humidity in California that you have in Florida so it’s hard to compare the two.
Thank you Don, for the video.
I’m glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment. Happy New Year.
Put a drop of epoxy on the button so you can feel them.
will the isotunes 2.0 be good for cutting grass? will the music be loud enough
I’m not sure. A lot depends on how well the ear buds fit into your ears and how loud your mower is. I can’t seem to get a good seal in my ears. As shown in the video my sander and CT get up to 95 dB which is too loud for me to hear the music. If your mower is quieter than that and the ear buds seal in your ears better they should work. I think that ISOtunes has a good return policy. You could check with them on that.
BTW - I’m not sure mostly because I don’t mow my lawn. 😃
@Steve Mac Thanks for the information on the Pro 2.0 for mowing. Hopefully those who are interested will read your comment. I would agree with you that the ISOtunes will most likely not match your Bose wired headphones. As people are suddenly finding out with the latest upgrade to Apple Music not working over Blootooth, it’s a very limiting technology in that the bandwidth necessary for high quality music. While I was a musician for many years and notice the quality differences in speakers and headphones when I’m out in the shop I’m not expecting extremely high quality music. I’m just listening to music to add to my enjoyment out there. I’m finding that more often I’m listening to the LINKS rather than the in-ear devise because the music they produce is much better. It, however, will not match what you get from your wired Bose over the ear muffs.
Nice comparison! Another factor in the decision of which to wear is how they fit with the other PPE. My muff style protectors do no fit well with my dust mask. I have a set of XTRA 1.0 that I use.
I'll have to listen to my CT 22 to see how loud it is. I haven't paid much attention to it.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yes, fit of any hearing protection is important, especially when wearing several types at the same time. Something like that is hard to report on because there are too many variables. One thing nice about ISOtunes is that they do have a money back guarantee. Other than possibly losing some money for shipping they can be returned if they aren’t right for you.
I have the pros and use them for cutting grass and weed eating. Would you recommend swapping to the links? I'm now worried about them not being dust proof and maybe even water cause I have a water cooled hat when you wring it so they'd come into contact with each other.
That’s a difficult question. My knowledge in this area is limited to what it states on the ISOtunes website and what I’ve read about the different levels of protection. I’m not an expert on that subject. You could look up the different IP codes on the Internet to see what they say. A perhaps better option would be to contact the ISOtunes customer service. I found them to be excellent as I mentioned in the video. They would be the best source for accurate information on that aspect of their product. I can say though that if the LINKS will work with the level of water resistance you need you’ll love the improvement in sound quality and being able to hear what’s playing on them. - I noticed that even the Wood Whisper, who did not like the sound quality of the ISOtunes now is using the LINKS in his shop and they are NOT a sponsor.
Was it a frog in the battery pack?
Mikael, I’m not sure what you are asking. Sorry.
I'm sure the over the ear are 100% better than the isotunes free.
Fast rewind and fast forward lol😂
Hope you liked it. 😁
