These are great units for students, budget minded guitarists, etc. All your basic amps, effects and tuner in one box at one price. Very versatile.and convenient. You can use them with an amp, other pedals, computer, PA, powered speakers, old boom box, or anything with a aux line in. Fits in your gig bag or on a pedal board easily.
Matribox 2 is out now John. Getting good reviews too.
It looks impressive for the price.
Nice review rob,thanks
I've have a similar unit a Valeton -GP100 maybe a hair bigger and comes with about 200 sounds in it and customizable too, I also bought it from Amazon. Great demo and playing!
I have this unit and use it for bass into a mixer and powered speakers. It's so cool they include bass amps. I use the GP-200 for my guitar. I also have a keyboard and drum machine going into the mixer. Mini studio on a budget.
Same here, some great usable - and editable tones, has the advantage of being USB connected to my PC so not squinting into a tiny screen...!
Interesting question. How do you set your amp EQ’s to give a neutral sound to show the pedals overall tonality?
Sounds good for the price. Could be a good starter kit.
Sounds great….. toying with buying one of these multi effects units and selling some of my amps ….. quite fancy the Zoom G11 at the moment 🤔…but some of these lower priced ones do sound good ….. keep the vids coming John 👍🏼
Zoom G11 is not the easiest to use. The newer modellers on the block from Valeton, Nux etc are much more user friendly.
@@Chip_57 thanks for the info …. Still undecided…. Boss GX100 ?
@micklawrence2630 Boss stuff is good, no doubt about that. The ME90 is a mixture of both worlds for those like to tweak buttons rather than an app etc. I'm currently eyeing the NUX MG30.
Hi John, a friend of my son has a Quad Cortex and when I saw him using it, I was blown away. A tad outside my budget😂.
I'm only a mug player and on more of a "beer" budget. The son is a bass player and has elected to go with individual pedals, but as for me, I can see the sheer convenience of these amps in a pedals.
Im was quite shocked watching this demo, for a hundred quid it has some pretty convincing tones, for someone starting their guitar journey it looks a real bargain.
Reminds me that "Krokus" type tone
Excellent overview of what seems an impressive bit of kit for the price. Didn't the Jazz demo sound good - maybe time to do the long threatened Jazz video? How easy is the looper to use, they can be a bit fiddly and not intuitive to use. Direct recording is a bonus as well. I notice the amazon ad says there is software included presumably this offers an alternative way of editing pre-sets? Nice kit, nice demo - thanks.
Hi do you run this through the clean channel on your amp or monitors? Which is best? Thanks
I'd like to hear this unit plugged into the effects loop of the BluGuitar Amp 1. Compare the amp models and see how the mutti effects work with the Amp 1.
Interesting Matribox gadget from Sonicake. The demo tones (before you hooked up the AI) sounded a bit like a blanket lies over them, compared to other Sonicake pedal gadget reviews you've done that sound better to me. Were you micing the speakers (headphone out)? The AI version sounds a bit clearer.
Hi John, l like what you were playing around the 2 min mark.l didnt hear how may of the setting you could save which woul be good info, also lots of folk spoke highly of the twiggy by this company, how does this stack up in getting all those twiggy sounds.cheers ,
The twiggy is a much simpler affair. Essentially just 4 pedals in a single box. No way to create presets, but some people prefer that simplicity... sounds great though. The overdrive is especially good.
Hwy John, was one of your examples an acoustic guitar simulator? Sounded surprisingly good.
Cheers mate. Yeah, I think it was. I made this video weeks ago so my memory may be at fault, but I think you're right 👍
Great little box and just goes to show that the ‘tone’ of a guitar is produced electronically, and not from the wood, type of neck, type of nut etc. controversial?? Shut your eyes and you’d be convinced John was playing half a dozen different guitars……. hmmmmmm…discuss ! 🤔
Be very careful when twisting byour knobs boys i could be dangerous !! ( just a friendly warning?)
Have a great night John and co 👍👍
I find it safer if you get someone else to twist them preferably a slender woman and if in short supply a furry glove on the opposite hand you normally engage may suffice? 😉
@@batphink2655 but you must sit on the hand to numb it too ( that's what someone told me😇!)
