Sensationalistic and misleading. Meant for non-Canadian audiences who know nothing about Canada. Right from the beginning when he said "2000 earthquakes in a single day" "ripping apart Canada's coast' and 'a series of earthquakes have JOLTED CANADA". I live right there, on Vancouver Island, and nobody has felt a single shake or shimmy. There are thousands of small quakes every day, so what makes this report so urgent?

@@TVY2013 you cant feel quakes that small and miles and miles off the coast at 8000 ft deep. It's not the island shaking. It's the sea floor and its volcanic tremors. miles off the coast of Hesquiat. Hundreds of feet below the surface.
You wouldn't feel any of that activity on the island. This happened almost a month ago and its volcanic tremors. Volcanic tremors are always around 1 magnitude so it's impossible to feel it even if you were standing right above it.

Often a news report would include an interview with an expert ... did I miss it? (apologies if so). The scriptwriter was poetic but light on facts! Also you really cannot discuss the relatively tiny Juan de Fuca plate without at least referencing the very big movement it is going to make in the next 300 years or so. That's a fact - it's been doing it like clockwork for centuries. So is this "floor spreading" related? Does this indicate east-bound pressure on the subduction zone that will bring "the big one" closer?
