You know, as great as TF2's story was, I really liked how Titanfall 1 managed to make it's setting still feel like a real war, even with all the insane technology. The story of TF1 shows both the militia and the IMC using pragmatic strategy, gathering intelligence, and worrying about resources and logistics. On the other hand, TF2's Fold Weapon was basically a death star. I've read that it was originally meant to be a giant artificial wormhole that would allow the IMC to bypass Demeter. I kind of wish they went with that. I hope that someday, we get either a reboot or re-release of Titanfall 1's story in a single player campaign.
I think a great way to remake it would be to keep the multiplayer campaign, and add a single player campaign that follows the main character’s mission that allows us to see their personalities more. Yeah I realised this mistake after I uploaded. On the Wiki brief description it said it was core world but after finishing the video I saw that it just got taken by the IMC early on
What? Angel city isn't one of the core worlds. It's on the frontier. We literally go there to recruit "one of the best pilots on the frontier" in titanfall 1. Same thing with the Apex Predators. They weren't around during the first part of the frontier war. Blisk founded the group long after the Demeter incident, since we see him still being employed by the IMC post-demeter in the last mission of the campaign.
@@WhiteSama0 i'm not very well versed in apex lore, but I've heard there's something connected to apex mentioning the predators existing for a few hundred years before the Frontier war (take this with a grain of salt, idk the source). However, as far as I can tell, every official source lists Blisk to be the leader of the group, but never mention him as the founder, which I find to be strange if he wasn't the founder of the group. Additionally, the Apex predators show up in TF|1 (they have their own emblem), while Blisk is still working for the IMC.
Honestly, the IMC is kind of the good guys. Yeah, they did a lot of bad stuff, but they also build the entirety of the Frontier in the first place, and were just trying to keep the core worlds fed.
@Noah Martin Britain, France, and the United States were all colonial Empires in World War 2, but Nazi Germany had no colonies. Does that mean that the Allies were the bad guys and the Axis were not? Being a colonial empire does not a bad guy make.
@Noah Martin Actually, yeah, this is a hill I will die on. Without Colonial Empires the entirety of the Americas would still be Stone age civilizations, maybe Bronze age. Without Colonial Empires there would be no United States, and therefore no Electricity in your home, no Computers, no Internet, and, yes, no RUclips, this platform you are on. Have Colonial Empires done some bad things? Sure. But Native Americans on Reserves are living with a Quality of life that the best, richest kings of Native Americans pre-Colonial America. @Noah Martin I did not say that the US is sinless. I outright stated that Colonial empires have done bad things. But without colonial empires we literally wouldnt even be having this discussion because people would not have electricity in their homes, computers, the Internet, or RUclips. Have some perspective and read a history book not written by a Marxist. Colonial Empires built the modern world, and without them you would be living in a mud hut barely making enough wheat to survive on wheat sludge stew right now.
@Noah Martin Read literally any history book not written by a Marxist, I beg you. The US would literally not exist without Colonial Empires, and the Natives living in these lands would still be in the Stone Age.
Thank you for this video you made, this was a really well done. Loved from the beginning to the end 100%, played this game back on the 360 and had great times on it. To finally see and hear the lore was something that was missing especially since back then it was online and it was hard to listen to it while not dying online 😂
The IMC and British East India Trading Company have quite a few similarities. For those that may not have known, The East India Trading Company basically ran the British Empire. It is still the largest corporation in history. The smaller and less valuable but better managed Dutch East India company is worth 7.9 trillion in modern US dollars( May 2023). The British East India Trading company's value cannot calculated. If you owned all of the gold on the planet you probably still couldn't buy the the company.
This may sound strange specially with this video but a titanfall themed RTS game with both fleet battles to flesh out titanfall spacecraft and ground forces with titans and the background tanks also being used could be very fun
On Xbox, I can get Attrition matches in TF1 usually around 30 seconds after matchmaking, but I can't speak for other platforms except hackers have made it basically unplayable on PC
1. This sounds like a longer, larger winter war (the war between finland and russia) 2. Why do the titans have hands? (They just waste space and you can disarm them easier)
Well cause like I said in the video, they were originally made for other more industrial jobs like move crates and agriculture etc also, meant they can use any large weapon they wanted by just picking it up lol
@@WiseFish I agree, but is it so hard to make weapon arms that store more ammo and allow better guns to be mounted without ever needing to reload? Just look at battletech battlemechs. There are a lot of them with hands and weapons.
2. Versatility. Titans aren’t only for shooting, as we see in the campaign they are like a partner and is basically just a large friend. There’s also that Titans can use a multitude of weapons, switching from guns to melee weapons so I think you get the point
Great video, but there’s a few mistakes here and there, most of which have already been pointed out in the comments, so I’ll just point out the most glaring one. The Titan wars did not happen between the milita and the IMC, but instead took place in the core systems, between the IMC and unknown assailants. This is listed in a few sources, namely the Titanfall Companion app and the Titanfall 2 Official Guide.
This isnt true. The corporate wars were a period of time where the IMC left the frontier to deal with the riots and rival corporations in the core systems. The titan wars were the period of fighting that took place several years before the initial events of titanfall 1, in response to the IMC returning to the frontier and asserting their control. There were plenty of mistakes in this video, but they actually got that part pretty spot on. Not sure what companion app you got that info from, but its incorrect.
@@mysti7986 This may have been retconned by respawn's current writing team, but the info comes from a companion app for the first game, which states "Barker served with MacAllan during the Titan Wars - a series of conflicts within the Core Systems, many years ago." This can be found on the games wiki. The official guidebook for Titanfall 2 says something very similar. There's some nuance here, as other information from these sources claim that the IMC had a strong presence on the frontier here at this point, but it doesn't seem like there was all out war on the frontier at this point, as MacAllan was on a peacekeeping mission on the frontier when he defected, which would only happen if the IMC wanted to ensure that they didn't have to fight two separate wars at the same time. The corporate wars did also happen, but way way before the titan wars. Again, I'm sure this has been retconned, but it was true at one point. The current writing team has made it very clear that they are oblivious of the lore in the guidebook.
@@henryrothert6160 Whaaaat. Dude you are very wrong. And its not cause respawn retconned anything. Literally in the very first intro cinematic for titanfall 1 they state the following: "Decades long tensions exploded into all out war on the frontier today" and then, "A group calling themselves the Militia has conducted numerous raids on IMC garrisons" and then, "Vice admiral Graves, you and Captain MacAllan have a long history of successful operations against the militia. What do you think made him turn admiral? Why did MacAllan betray you?" This is being told to us in chronological order and is very obviously referring to the titan wars preceding the start of Titanfall 1. In TF1's campaign we hear MacAllan say: "Open your eyes Marcus. You could've stopped my 15 years ago. Instead you gave me the ship" Referencing his defection, 15 years before the events of titanfall, aka during the titan wars. The corporate wars are what pulled the IMC away from the frontier, and their return to it is what triggered the titan wars. This has been the case since the release of the first game.
@@mysti7986 You make a compelling argument, and I'm tempted to agree, but the lore directly states that it happened in the core systems, and there's nothing that directly contradicts that. Nowhere does it explicitly say that the series of conflicts known as the titan wars were fought between the militia and the IMC, just that there was some level of fighting between them at this point. This is also why every older character with titan experience is an IMC veteran - there's no characters who fought in the titan wars on the side of the militia.
Blisk did not form the apex predators until after the battle of Demeter. He was a sergeant in the IMC serving under Graves before. Other than that, good video.
Hope you guys enjoyed the video! Let me know in the comments what you’d like to see next!

Hello, don’t watch your videos, but I heard that you edit for forgelabs. I subbed
Underrated channel.
Absolutely nice job dude
Imc: Mine
Militia: No
Imc: *autistic screeching*
This may sound strange specially with this video but a titanfall themed RTS game with both fleet battles to flesh out titanfall spacecraft and ground forces with titans and the background tanks also being used could be very fun
That does sound pretty Cool
They already made one
It flopped and got removed
so in love with tf2, never realized though how epic the first one was, never had the chance to play it and i reckon its too late now
On Xbox, I can get Attrition matches in TF1 usually around 30 seconds after matchmaking, but I can't speak for other platforms except hackers have made it basically unplayable on PC
@@EnergyBlastProductions it would have been pc for me but yeah I heard that hackers have massacred that game
This is Black-Bird 3-6, our refueling stations out, two experimental Scorchs were hacked. Needing backup!
It’s SUCH a shame this series was abandoned. This besides halo 2 and 3 were easily the best fun I had with any MP game. Even the campaign was solid.
Had a chuckle at how you say *Demeter* lmao
Deh-meh-ter is how its pronounced not dementa its spelt demeter. Great vid btw 👍
This video was amazing! Thanks
1. This sounds like a longer, larger winter war (the war between finland and russia)
Literally in the very first intro cinematic for titanfall 1 they state the following:
"Decades long tensions exploded into all out war on the frontier today"
and then,
"A group calling themselves the Militia has conducted numerous raids on IMC garrisons"
and then,
"Vice admiral Graves, you and Captain MacAllan have a long history of successful operations against the militia. What do you think made him turn admiral? Why did MacAllan betray you?"
This is being told to us in chronological order and is very obviously referring to the titan wars preceding the start of Titanfall 1.
Galactic Civil War sounds familiar😂
so good video i finally understand the lore a bit more
Love your vids I had to sub
I’m so glad you liked them! Welcome to the channel :)
man this is nice
Good one mate!
Great video again.
Did the first titanfall game have a campaign? I dont remember seeing any of the footage such as the footage at 14:03
Eh yes and no it had one but it was more of an extended tutorial than a story campaign
For thousand generations human race was living in Peace. Before the dark times.....before the IMC
Fantastic recap
Blisk did not form the apex predators until after the battle of Demeter. He was a sergeant in the IMC serving under Graves before. Other than that, good video.
Blisk is never actually stated to be the founder of the apex predators, just the leader
The more I watch the more connections I make to the revolution war
This is great!
Keep up dude. Much love from syria
Thanks dude appreciate it!! :D
Actually the Apex predators weren’t established till after the battle of dementer, in titanfall 1 blisk was still just a member of the IMC.
