- Dave McCann and Blaine Fowler celebrated BYU’s historic Alamo Bowl victory over Colorado, highlighting key performances and game-defining moments.
They discussed the defense’s standout effort, which included holding Colorado to just 14 points and securing two interceptions, bringing BYU’s season total to a nation-leading 22. Special teams shone with Parker Kingston’s electric punt return for a touchdown and a perfectly executed onside kick.
Offensively, LJ Martin led the rushing attack with 93 yards and two touchdowns, while time of possession heavily favored BYU, emphasizing the team’s control of the game. The team reflected on missed opportunities that could have widened the victory margin and critiqued Colorado’s announcers for a perceived focus on their pregame expectations.
Dave and Blaine also revisited Blaine’s pregame keys to victory, grading BYU’s execution with positive marks. They celebrated the coaching staff’s innovative strategies and preparation, which provided over 17 pre-snap defensive looks in the first half alone, leaving Colorado outmatched.
With BYU now poised to finish the season ranked in the top 15, the discussion shifted to the program’s bright future, emphasizing returning players, coaching continuity, and the team’s upward trajectory in the Big 12.
The livestream concludes with fan engagement, reading viewers’ three-word reactions to the game and sharing optimism for the Cougars’ next season.

BYU is Family!
Another positive spin on winning the Alamo Bowl versus being in the CFP is that they end the season with a victory. Whereas 11 CFP teams will end their season with a loss.
Celebrating as a team with a trophy in hand in something that can serve as feel good motivation to win something bigger next season
Total, utter domination.
Loved the game. BYU proved that they are here to stay. They should have been in the playoffs.
They should have been more in the conversation but you can’t lose 2/3 games to end the season and think you “deserve” anything
On Track ‘25!
Three words: “Defense Wins Championships”
Three words?
" *_REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!_* "
BUT the most REWATCHED BYU Football games would have to be
#1) 1980 Holiday Bowl (the Miracle Bowl)
#2, #3) 1983 Holiday Bowl (Steve Young catches game winning TD in final college game) and
1984 Holiday Bowl (hobbled Robbie Bosco leads win over Michigan to clinch National Championship)
#4 & #5) the two Taysom Hill games vs Texas.
Three phase beatdown
Not the most watched in the history of the school, as I learned a BYU/Utah game in the 50s had 60 million viewers. But most watched of the 2000s, yes.
Hi. I'm not a BYU fan. So I say this an unbiased viewer. I believe BYU was the best team in Big 12. No shade at Arizona St. I was saying from like halfway through the season on that they were legit when everyone seemed to be overlooking them. They beat BYU at their place in a competitive game. They earned the Big 12 championship. But I still think that BYU was the best overall football team between two great teams. Both teams should've been in the playoff.
Thanks, jkh2180 for taking time to comment. And thanks for you nice comments about the Cougars. We appreciate everyone’s take. Thank you for sharing.

Regarding "don't ever do it again"... im not convinced. Both of Jake's picks were forced to well covered receivers - the shuttle pass was blown up well before he tried to throw it. I cringe every time he throws the ball...
Yeah David, you’re not alone in feeling that. He’s a “gunslinger” as Steve Young said.
But I love his leadership and grit.
Who is Colorado?
Haha!
