To me every and any interpretation of Nightwigh lyrics is good, perhaps not what the band intended but the personal take is what metters. Rock on!

Nemo is on the 2004 album Once, recorded with original lead singer Tarja Turunen. Troy didn't start playing with them until 2007, so his Irish Low Whistle part is an addition to the song. Floor sounds awesome on this song, Tarja was just as awesome singing it. Check that out later, live in Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era DVD)
This song is legendary on its own right , and this song was my first Nightwish song that I heard back in 2004 .
Also this song can be heard in the ending credits of the 2005 film The Cave.
"Nemo" is the eighth single Of the Nightwish album Once (fifth studio album). A big-budget video was made for the song. The director was Antti Jokinen, who had previously worked with Shania Twain, Celine Dion and Eminem. The video was number one on MTV Brasil Video Chart. The song was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single. Although Nightwish already enjoyed a solid fan base in Europe and South America by the time of the single's release, it is considered their breakthrough song since it helped them reach a wider audience.

To be fair, you now need to listen to the original version of this song with Tarja singing.The live version is from "The end of an era" video release by Nightwish from 2005. Tara Turunen was the origional singer for Nightwish. I think you ladies would absolutely love her.

Floor just don't have that tumultuous soprano of Tarjas, required for these songs. Thus her renditions just don't cut it.
There is also a version with Anette (2nd singer). So can compare and contrast. which is rare to find a song sung by all three ladies.

Enjoyed the reaction. One of Tuomas's best compositions as evidence by the many differenent versions Nightwish and Floor have done. My favorite is the original with Tarja in the official music video. I also love her live version from the End of an Era concert, this version, and the acoustiv vetsion Floor and Troy did on Planet Rock. I also adore Floor's version at her solo concert in Amsterdam. Very different. Stripped back and very intimate. It really shows Floor's artistry. She also changed up the ending for their last tour in 2022 adding a 15 sec F5 belt at the end that will blow you away.
One of their biggest hits, was played everywhere and all the time in Finland, couldn't go anywhere, you heard it somewhere....brings good memories ❤ one of Tuomas finest compositions.

One of the reason to love that performance is that she doesn't have to compete with her band mates, allows for the song to take on a more intimate introspective interpretation of the songs meaning. All three are such diverse performances that each shoes a different side of Floor's mastery. Of course there are other wonderful performances. Its all solo except a couple of duo's with Henk Poort. A big shout out to the Marcel Fisser Band for the excellent backing band for this concert. Marcel is so good.

Some venues in the US in the US prohibit crowd surfing and mosh pits. Indoor ones. At least in St. Louis.

I think the keyboard player read this book when he was in school, is something we do in europe and him writing a song about neemo makes sense. This show me and my son watch every time we have a party, its so good in every level, drums, keyboard, guitar and ofcoz Floor´s singing. As always a fun reaction from u guys

Name for evermore
For me, this is a song about losing one's identity. How many times in life do we gain or lose an identity, a "name," only to lose it again? Names such as, mother, brother, father, sister. Names associated with an occupation or profession. Even names associated with our character or personality, positive or negative.
Yet we struggle with a name loss, because of life, and the change life brings. Changes that happen because we age. In my humble opinion, while lovely, Nemo, Latin for "no name," is a warning to not let the loss of an identity become permanent by embracing change and letting the past stay in the past.
As a side note, the last part of Nemo Floor sings is improvised, like her improv singing on Storytime or Ghost Love Score, as the original track doesn't have Tarja singing the notes Floor does.

This song shows the versatility of NW as a band. It is probably one of the most popular NW songs from the earlier era when Tarja was the lead singer (which is a great version of this song as well), but Floor then puts her own spin on it which, while still being in the true essence of the original, still makes it a little bit different so there is something for everyone. I am instantly impressed, if an American knows a Jules Verne book.
Jules Verne named Captain Nemo to represent the meaning/personality of the character.
I'm delighted that someone knows Jules Verne and not just the fish. The song also has similarities to the main character in "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas". It resembles Captain Nemo before he built the submarine. But the text was created independently of this. The song made it to mainstream radio and made the band famous across Europe in 2004.
Security had organized the crowdsurfing and set up a starting point. So crowd surfing was easy.
This song is indeed inspired by the novel '20.000 leagues under the sea' from Jules Verne. Tuomas identified himself with the character of Captain Nemo (the man with no name) on his travels on his submarine The Nautilus searching for his true self.
This song is 20 years old, it is one of the most famous.

Excellent ladies, Nemo is one of my favs. You should hear Tarja (original singer) sing Nemo from the End of an Era concert. She nails out of the park also. That was from 2004 I think - the guys are so young but they were already at the top of their instruments. Hey, Donna, I swear when Floor hit one of her notes towards the end you shot off alil stank eye. Way to go girl. You 3 are alot of fun, keep doin' what your doin'.

They Had to Listen with the original singer... I think is the best version. Tarja voice and mood is more serious and dark, fits better, maybe because the song was fit to her since she was the vocal at the time.
