    Sili is actually very versatile as it doesn't absorb any product so you use less and it's very easy to clean. I use it to:
    1. Apply foundation NOT blend
    2. Apply skin care products (exfoliating serum, cream etc)
    3. Apply masks on (mud masks, clay masks)
    4. Mix foundations together then apply it directly on my face etc

      Wait, you can't use it for blending...? Then what's the point. You use it to apply to your face and then you gotta blend it with a beauty blended anyway???

    The one I use has a silicone side and a soft side. Once I'm done applying with the silicone side, I use the soft side and it blends it in amazingly for me. It makes it look so soft like it was airbrushed.

    as someone who has weird textured oily skin, the silicone sponge is fantastic. lays it out evenly and smoothens on the skin better. my fav has been the one from sephora so far.

    Late on this trend but I finally got one and it’s pretty convenient if you wear makeup really often and are on the go. I can’t count how many times I had to walk around halls and venues trying to reach a sink or water fountain for my beauty blender. You really do have to blend it out so much more so that it really gets in your skin but other than that it’s nice. Like using your fingers but without the mess.

    I bought the silicone sponge and didn't like it. I don't understand how it's such a rave on instagram. I know I will get hate posting this but it's my honest opinion. I used it on a client because it was more sanitary and I felt like the foundation was just sitting on top of her skin doing nothing for her face. It looked very unnatural and unbendable with the silicone sponge. I was so unhappy with the results that I asked her to wash her face so I can start over with the beauty blender. Personally, I don't mind using a bit more product for a better more natural finish.

    • @kari6222
      @kari6222 7 лет назад +17

      I agree with you, the silicone sponge was not good for me either, and the one I got the packaging does say that after application you should blend with a sponge or brush. So if I have to use my beauty blender still I don't think it's worth it. The only benefit is that you use less product, but just Like you said I don't mind using a bit more to get the look I want.

    This was an incredibly helpful video to really see the difference between the blender and silicone applicator. I’ve been using a silicone applicator for a few years now and prior to that was using a foundation brush. I don’t dab my skin but more so use swiping motions and feel like it pulls my skin and will cause more sagging down the line which is what led me to your video to see if a blender would be better.

    If your glowy, dewy look comes from a damp sponge, what does it look like after the water on your face evaporates?

  • @heyjade7277
    @heyjade7277 3 года назад +5

    Umm.. idk about you guys, but in my opinion the “shinier” side looks like it’s a heavier application.. and the matte side looks flawless and finished on camera.. but if she had used a primer before applying her foundation she wouldn’t see her pores

    I’ve actually had very good luck with the silicone blenders when it comes to thicker consistency is it really works great when I apply my concealer as well I’m actually a fan of the silicone blenders. I know a lot of people aren’t but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty amazing.

    I work as flight attendant, so I am supposed to wear make up. Now that is summer I don’t wear foundation so often as I use to do in autumn/winter and I don’t even care wearing it during work, cause I can deal with my blemishing way much better with my face clean and moisturized; but when I do wear make up on a flight, I prefer to bring the silicone sponge in my beauty case for fix the make up during the flight, cause is more hygienic and easily to clean after use it. Instead for when I’m home I rather use the cushion sponge, cause I think it absorbs less product than a beauty blender and I can tap the right amount of foundation on my skin so that I have the coverage I like without wasting product (in my opinion, beauty blenders only absorb foundation... I didn’t have a good experience whit them); while with silicone ones it’s like chasing the product, because it keeps to run away around your face until it settles down (but it takes longer)

      Pollution will definitely irritate your skin and cause breakouts. I don't know recipes off the top of my head, but try to find a product or a recipe that is meant for detoxifying skin. Something containing charcoal is a good one to try out. Also use a light weight or weightless moisturizer. I struggle with a lot of similar skin concerns, and gel moisturizers work well, especially if they have aloe.
