@@blakej4924 Usually I just see people like this are just whiney 17-21 year old kids who never tried to get good grades or cared enough about themselves to invest their time into something useful for them or others were then they could be a successful person, not a businessmen, but that comes with it. They are typically a person that sees the world in a postmodernist view and in a nihilistic manner in which everything always had some intrinsic dread, burden or guilt to it and to add onto the post modernist agenda that most people that tend to think like this all seemingly have in common is the belief that society is merely a hierarchal construct which it isn't and that has been also proven with many historical figures backing up that claim and you see it in everyday live. But to get down to a personal level for which I cannot speak on everybody as a collative but only in which I can imagine the typical person to think like she would or does is she has a specific resentment to power which is typically seen in the leftist agenda in where she sees only the so called "powerful" in which many cases in history and now were actually the quote on quote "oppressed" as the only moral, social, economic and phycological, barrier lets call them or it. But this does all play back to the video pushing a very Marxist agenda which in its own society has failed and the fundamental basis of communism has and will drive countries to economic failure to the the Plato distribution that occurs in them or to become a slave state such as the Soviet Union where an estimated 12 to 60 million people had been killed in the gulags and in those very gulags they would suck the literal labor of them day in and day out so efficiently enough but slowly enough to where they could still extract enough profit from their literal life to keep their society running. As explained in many books, papers and videos, the capitalist society is the only society were it does not suffer from new thinking and ideas unlike a communist one in which the state owns all means of production and the working class really don't have any form of private wealth due to the state owning the means of production and to the Plato distribution funneling all of its money into the state which will in every sense lead to a totalitarian rescheme which we saw with Stalin in the Soviet Union. Capitalism thrives off of innovation, new ideas and free markets that are owned by the people, not the state. Its all a very deeply flawed way of thinking on a social scale and an economic scale and if you want to try to make an argument on behalf of socialism you should which Richard Wolff and Gene Epstein's debate on Democratic Socialism vs. Free Market Capitalism.

@@HN-kr1nf I've worked the polls before. The problem is that voting by post under normal circumstances is a HUGE job because every vote needs to be processed and counted by hand, and that's with probably like 5% of people voting by mail, maybe less. It's not technically impossible, but it would probably take a month to process all the votes if everyone votes by mail.

Thank you for asking the obvious question. Who HAS a plan? Does anyone remember Occupy Wallstreet? It was a protest which became a spontaneous resistance. A short lived, microcosmic event which showed what happens when a bunch of well meaning people call of change, with no real plan going in.
As a Canadian, I'm terrified. The US is going to implode. there are so many small factions who are angry and frustrated. The evangelicals are within inches of over turning Roe-V.-Wade given the hard work they have been doing with appointing judges. There are a whole wing of religo-fascists behind Mike Pence, Jeff sessions and Roy Moore.
When Trump is impeached, Pence will not pardon him. Pence will then move the country hard toward a Christian Fascist state.
Canada had a mini-refugee crisis in 2017 after Trump started his immigration crack down.
It will get worse once Trump goes down, and his supporters become social pariahs.
I fear those who have bought into Trump's message (fallen for the Greatest Con-man in History) will not be disillusioned by Trump's fall, but galvanized. there are groups in America which are in the verge of becoming legitimate terrorists, and I fear they will provide the pre-text for a powerful realignment and restructuring of the GoP.
It seems there is a plan in place to "fix" some of the problems ContraPoints (Slaanesh be praised!) has raised, but the solutions they have aren't ones the American People may want for themselves.
You haven't "read Kropotkin" if you've only read the Bread Book.
Try _Modern Science and Anarchy_ and _Ethics: Origin and Development_ . They're more theory-oriented, but you also get a more thorough picture of social anarchist thought, most of which is still applicable today.
You'll find that Kropotkin became a lot more open to forms of transformative action beyond just "Revolution!". The _Conquest of Bread_ is sort of an agitational instruction manual for how to reorganise a city along social anarchist lines via a violent popular uprising. However, once the 20th century rolled around, he moderated his "One Solution: Revolution!" stance and switched to a more open policy of "Peaceful if possible, violent if necessary" with regard to expropriating the stuff the reptiles control.

I used to be a delivery driver for Pizza Hut and our upper management was always yelling at us to upsell. If someone ordered a pizza, we were supposed to suggest adding wings or a drink etc. None of us really liked bothering people about it because 99.9% of the time, customers will decline. After a while I started to wonder what incentive do I, as an employee of this company, have to try and sell people more food? Do I get more money if Pizza Hut makes more money? No. Do I get some kind of commission for making the sale? No. Is there an opportunity for a promotion if I sell enough Hershey's Chocolate Chip Cookies? No. So when many of our customers in our area are low income working class people, immigrants and college students, why should I have to try and squeeze more money out of these people so Big Daddy Pizza Hut can make an extra buck? (side note: I lived off tips for three and a half months because the HUT was sending my paychecks to the wrong store. It was a blast and I love Pizza Hut and everything they stand for. this reminds me of my days being a server-like, sure, in that context, /theoretically/ you'd get a larger tip by increasing the size of the bill through upselling, but more often than not, even on a $50+ order (not hard at a wing/rib/steak bar), a $10+ was something to be excited about, and generally tips over 15% were pretty uncommon. it was my goal to hit $60 in tips per night and I only made that maybe half the time, and some nights were so slow I actually netted a loss after feeding myself and putting gas in my car. Even if I did make that goal, it was usually so busy that the stress wasn't even worth it, and I quit after a year.
By the way, for anyone wondering, "Добро пожаловать в революцию товарищи" means "Welcome to the revolution comrades."

Yeah…I think the worst part about it is that the rich aren’t really happy in a way I think Is meaningful, I think the phrase “coked up” always felt more apt. She has more time to use in what ways she pleases because childcare,cooking,grochery shopping,cleaning,styling herself with clothes or makeup and the energy required for things like comuting are on someone else's time. Compare that to how much time a lower class working mom who takes public transportation really has in her day for time spent with out including time for her kids/partner/exercise/socializing/hobbies or any other form of self care.😔

I tried it and suddenly, I was able to GET IT IN - to clean, to study, to take care of myself with this reckless euphoria in the back of my head. I never partied, I didn't use it to disconnect from the environment but to make my cosplay, as a productive member of society, an intellectual, a golden child, bearable. I just turned my back on myself, my emotions. It helped me to deal with my regular responsibilities without delays, shame or depression by giving me 8h of relief just for my brain to strike me back even harder. It happened absurdly accidentally when I was 22. I never even considered such types of entertainment before. It was one time and it stayed with me because it allowed me to look past the pain. Legal sources of it made it so easy and convenient that I didn't even think I was a drug addict for a long time. I thought it helped until it was obvious didn't and made things worse. The pain always prevails so it must be faced. Ah, the pain, the shame. 💔

You don't understand what "economy" is. Economy is not about "serving". Economy is all about efficient allocation of scarce resources. In economy there is no concept of "serving humanity", because this notion can't be defined. Under capitalism every business "serves humanity" in it's own unique way defined by company management.

For anyone who hasn't already read it, I strongly recommend "The Principles of Communism" by Engels. It's a plain-spoken bullet point outline of what capitalism is, where it came from, and how to move forward. It is easy to read and short, and you will get through it in a few hours.

The more I learn about the US, the more glad I am to live in Germany. We do have some capitalism issues but not every single political issue is directly or indirectly caused by capitalism here.
It aint as bad as in the US, but Germany still has huge capitalism problems similar to the ones in the US. Most people are getting poorer, while the rich are getting much richer. Nobody can afford housing anymore.

This comment is specifically in regards to intellectual gatekeeping in that of you happen to have not read ONE SPECIFIC BOOK you therefore have no worthwhile thoughts on the matter. I didnt say you shouldnt educate yourself, I didnt say reading the works of previous philosophers is bad. I just said that you're allowed to have opinions on, say, the "divine right of kings", without having to read everything ever written by Thomas Hobbes. Should you read SOME Hobbes before diving into the discussion, probably, but you dont have to prove your knowledge by quoting one specific piece of his writings
But most philosophers were educated on other philosophers' work.

You don't HAVE to read so-and-so's book to have a valid opinion, but you are also very unlikely to be the first person ever to have said opinion. It is always worthwhile to read the thoughts of people who have put decades of deep contemplation into the same ideas that you might only just now be becoming acquainted with. It is completely ignorant, in my opinion, for someone to truly believe that he or she has the full picture about anything after only a year of thinking about it off and on. There is so much more to be worked out.
As difficult as it is for many people to admit, most of us do not automatically know everything. There are things to be considered that lie beyond our wildest imaginations. We may think we know something for sure, before a barely noticeable, tiny, little detail comes along and proves everything wrong. If I had not read philosophy, then I may never have become aware of the existence of certain debates surrounding specific details of an already obscure idea, which nonetheless have profound repercussions in the larger scheme of things, like an unsuspecting little cog jamming up the entire universal machinery. It is absolutely essential that people be open to the possibility that they know nothing at all for sure. Reading philosophy has a way of illustrating this. There's so much to learn, but so little time.

They were pioneers in a world that had evolved fast, and developed new problems to be solved rather quickly (or old problems in a new form, depending on how you look at it). In any case, the things they were aware of aren't like quantum physics, where any deeper understanding is neigh impossible without a whole host of knowledge in mathematics and physics. Much of the basics they worked off of of are realizations pretty much anyone can come to when they're really willing to look at the state of things, especially today, with all that historical perspective, and such an enormous wealth of knowledge at one's finger tips, things they didn't have, not like that.
They're not claiming you should take it as gospel and believe every word, they just believe you are likely to change your mind after reading the explanations/reasoning given in the book.
