    When I was a boy there were fish about the size of your little finger that lived in a tiny stream below a spring head in Louisiana. They had rainbow colors on brown and stayed under the rocks and would poke their heads out and turn their heads to look both directions like an eel does. Sadly, a gravel pit allowed runoff to fill the stream in with sand and debris. I've never seen them catalogued and they are likely extinct now

    • @Annie_Annie__
      @Annie_Annie__ 4 месяца назад

      They’re not the US’s only native parrot.
      There’s a species called the green parakeet or the Mexican green conure that is native to the very southern tip of Texas.
      They’re different from the invasive feral green Quaker parrots but often confused with them.
      They’re incredibly bright green and so cute!
      I’ve had them in my yard a few times.

    Coming from new Zealand there is no "Maori country" and there are plenty of DOC (department of conservation) workers that go to the most remote forested areas in order to hunt possums, wild cats, deer and pigs to preserve native wildlife

    I feel like a really good point to try and find presumed extinct species is to help get an idea of what will happen to already endangered species that would really benefit to being protected.
