This is one of the best automotive how to videos on RUclips. Enjoy the humor too. Now I can attack the problematic 01m on my mk4 Jetta with confidence. You’ve saved me thousands of dollars. Excellent video. Thank you.
Nice & thorough! Did you ask me about a filter fitment issue? The old filter seal is still in the valve body... you probably figured it out by now. :) Looking forward to rest of the series!
Hi, you did the perfect job. I have a golf mk3, 1997 y, 1780 cc, ADZ engenier. I did it all the same as you with the same parts. When I returned the valve body to the gearbox and tried it did not work in D nothing like it's in neutral, also on N it is normal neutral, everything else works well. When the 3 changes the speeds very well 1-2-3. Do you have any idea what it can be? Thanks
+Sale Rosic I'm not too sure. What was the problem before you took it to pieces? The valve body is very sensitive to the correct torque specs. Any fault codes for the solenoids?
No fault code. Before I start any job I put trans in N and take out valve body. Some people say next: Whenever a valve body is installed into an 096 or an 01M Transmission, the internal manual valve linkage MUST BE ADJUSTED to sync up the manual valve with the Rooster comb and external linkage. But how do this?
Before I do job was problem solenoid N03, trans have only 3 rd and revers sometime put in 4 but work in D. When cold change normal 1-2-3-4 but after 10-15 min stay only in 3.
+Sergio Ivan P. Cordova thank you. They are copyrighted material so I can't send you a link. If you google 01m service manual I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for
Is it telling you to measure resistance through the cable, or directly off each solenoid body? I have a feeling that the cable will give you a variance in readings.
You need to check the continuity of the loom. They are a weak point and fail frequently as important as checking the solenoids. No significant difference in resistance
I have a jetta a4 model 2002, which kicks from 2 to 3, I told you that the box was changed twice, eh changed the body of valves as 10 times, the wiring of the ECU to the connector of the internal harness was changed in its entirety , the internal harness is new, does not throw any code and keeps kicking from 2 to 3, yesterday I put another body of valves and still doing the same, someone who can help me and tell me what I can do.
Lookin' good so far! I hope you took the opportunity to walk inside covered in transmission fluid just to give your wife the shock of her life. ;D Out of curiosity, what type of transmission fluid were you running? I'm sure you've mentioned before, but my poor brain cell just can't seem to find the memory. :] As always, give me a shout if I can help you out at all!
+rhkips She has a new born baby, she wouldn't even notice! The old fluid is Penrite Multi-Veicle which is a local Australasian brand. Decent quality but not technically an approved fluid. You'll have to wait and see what fluid goes in there... I sure will, your advice has been invaluable in getting me this far.
Badgertronix Oh gosh, haha! Congrats on fatherhood! Hope things are going well? :] Aah, alright. I wondered! I get a bit worried when I see red falling out of a VW transmission... I shall wait with baited breath! In the mean time, as long as what you had in there met Dexron III specs, it will have been fine short-term. Not ideal, but definitely not damaging. :)
+rhkips Thanks, it's exhausting so far! I've been using that fluid for years with no issues. Penrite recommend it on their website for this application but it doesn't have the VW spec listed. kansascitytdi.com/o1m-faq/ red fluid seems pretty common with hopefully not too many issues. The new fluid meets VW specs btw ;)
Badgertronix I can imagine! Best of luck to you guys! Yeah, there are a few "global" fluids that meet the spec. I'm apprehensive about them, only because I'm a picky bastard. I don't actually have any logical arguments against them. ;D
+rhkips fair enough, oils and fluids can be an emotive issue. I just checked again and the Penrite stuff does meet LT71141 which translates to the right spec. I live on a rock at the bottom of the world, I'll take whatever fluid I can find!
Thank you! The grace and the peace be with you from The Lord your God our father and how many of you know about the good news repent and believe in the gospel because the kingdom of heaven is at nigh and you believe in him son Jesus? Thanks for the awesome review :) Good luck with fixing yours
Well done buddy, man that filter came down fast. Very organized . Cheers
+STEVE ROB Thanks Steve, yeah it was stuck in there pretty well. I'm sure there are some more bloopers in the other episodes...
Thank you for this excellent video, it has helped me a lot, I am repairing my transmission of the vw beetle and the valve body is the same, thank you.
Hey love the vids. Where did you get your valve body rebuild kit?
Badger, where did you get the valve body assembly instructions? Do you have a link to them that you can share with me?
Nice & thorough! Did you ask me about a filter fitment issue? The old filter seal is still in the valve body... you probably figured it out by now. :) Looking forward to rest of the series!
+Thomas EXOVCDS Thanks! Ah yep it is indeed but that comes out somewhere along the way. Don't think it gets mentioned at any point though.
+Badgertronix So the replacement filter had an issue or am I thinking of someone else? No spoiler on how she's running!
+Thomas EXOVCDS Must be someone else. No spoiler, you'll have to watch the whole series to see how it pans out ;)
+Badgertronix Wouldn't want it any other way! :)
Where we can find the documents that you have?
Quality stuff BTVR6G
+D Paignall Thanks!
Me podrías decir qué número es el de la transmisión de VR6 y donde lo localizo gracias
How many quarts of transmission fluid does it take???
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
wonderful
+leavy dambaza thanks!

What is proper rpm in 01m ag4 for 100km/h in vw 2.0 engine'95 ?
What if I found what looks like a shattered spring and pieces of plastic that look like they once made a big circle inside the filter?
I have one of these o1m models,, trans is slipping all over the place with no codes??
Probably buggered
do you know on 2001 vw jetta is the transmission band adjuster, located, and how many pounds need to adjust? thanks for your video
No idea sorry
Excellent video friend, you could give me the link to have a copy of the manuals you have printed.
+Sergio Ivan P. Cordova thank you. They are copyrighted material so I can't send you a link. If you google 01m service manual I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for
Thank you friend, I have found the manual valve body. thank you

BTW love your vids, they're for the most part, spot on.

Hi is this for sale?
Sure is
Amigo as un video como repararla completamente toda la tras misión desdekela juras del carro asta ponerla me pare sería mío bien del vR6 1998
You know you can chech resistance straight from the solenoid, and know if any one is damaged.
+Michael Movshovich you can but the wiring harness fails too so you need to check that also
Why in this transmissios oil its Red???? Because, vw is LT71141.... It is yellow!!!!
Because it's not the VW fluid... it's a different fluid that meets LT71141 specs
Thank you!
