Hey guys, no, I do not have Heroes of the Grid. At the moment I think I collect enough stuff. Not much of a board game person. Maybe Jerry will get it? Jerry loves board games. More good toy stuff comin', and links are always right below the video. (Yes, this set really is out, GameStop has it in store & online. If your store doesn't have it yet, it's currently in stock on their website)
I think Hasbro is learning just how particular our fandom is about our gold! That said, this gold didn't bother me. Much better than the Zeo Butterscotch Ranger! Side note - do you ever use anything to seal the paints with? Sometimes my Gundam Markers paint apps chip off easily.
For a true Zyuranger gold, use Vallejo Polished Gold. It brushes on easily. Two coats will do it and it cures in a day. You don't even have to repaint the armbands, because the color is a close match.
I do like these type of videos and don't get why you stopped doing them. I found these type of videos very entertaining. I like the fact that the toys exist and I don't usually fix the toys to make them look better, mostly because I'm too afraid I'll break them because I ain't very careful. So I'm just happy the toys exist and am satisfied with the way they look. These video are very interesting, please start doing them again. #TeamBruno
When looking for paint - make sure to go with water based acrylic or an alcohol based paint pen. Those are the two types of paint that will not end up sticky on soft rubbery plastics like the dragon shield. Oil based paints are what react badly with this kind of plastic and never dry resulting in the sticky finish.
Is it possible to paint over the silver on the helmet, or is that just being too greedy? It dont bother me at all but just curious lol and do you think Hasbro would release a non fighting spirit green ranger sometime down the line?.. btw love your videos 🙌😎
Actually, I've heard of people using nail polish remover to get action figure paint off. You might need to repaint that small red gem at the top if you're not careful, but nail polish remover on a Q-tip might work for you if you're desperate.
At 3:54 you can actually see my painted-over head. That's from the vlog... which isn't up yet. I had it looking all nice, and then tried to give it a black wash, which didn't get along with the gloss I'd used to make it glossy... but... good enough. We need a non-silver version for the next video we're working on with these. Can you imagine Hasbro not releasing a proper version of the most popular ranger in history? And only giving us the version fans rioted over during Super Megaforce resulting in the digital removal of the stripe for the Legend War? They'd just be trolling us. I don't have any official info, but there's just no way we're not going to see the regular version at some point. Unless Hasbro's trollin' us.
@@MMPRtoys It's about as bad as Hasbro not being able to properly sculpt the MMPR Red Ranger helmet and MMPR Morphers. It almost feels like they cheaped out on that series.
@@YourUncleBenis I've tried nail polish in the past without success. It might depend on the type or brand of polish used. I switched to acetone which has worked much better. You just have to be patient and not apply too much at once.
Some of what we do requires a lot of learning/practice, but, the gold marker is something I think anyone could pick up pretty quickly. Some of the other gold paints I just wipe off with my finger if I think I don't like the color while it's still wet, and try again with something else. Even if you mess up you can usually wash the figure off with water, or using Goo Gone. Spray paint is more of a pain to remove if you're not happy.
Incredible paint job. You're really good at custom painting. Personally I don't mind the gold on the Green Ranger, but this is definitely helpful for anybody who wants to fix it.
Ever since the people of Hasbro had the Lightning Collection Green Ranger action figure made, I had often wondered why the manufacturers didn't also paint the silver trim on the helmet green, use the same gold paint that was used for the Lightning Collection White Ranger action figure and didn't give the belt the black holster on the left side instead. I'll have to try to contact the people of Hasbro to find out if it can be done to have a reissue figure made and have those flaws corrected.
I may be wrong, but it looks like the silver hasn't been fully painted around the mouthpiece. Similar to how the armored red ranger turned out when bandai released it
I think you're the first person to mention it. You're correct, and I filled in the silver on the one I've been painting. They got it right on the red ranger from the SDCC pack though...(??)

Depending on how much you apply you can anywhere from a bright to burnished gold.
Wow, I didn't think they could make the triangles work with that articulation scheme, but it works without cutting them in half.
