    I think the quickest approach to fix scenario two in the absence of the auto-recovery feature being enabled for the vPC domain, is to disable the vPC feature...no feature vpc, instead of going to each port-channel and issuing no vpc. Doing so will force forwarding to fall back to spanning-tree.

    In case 3 - you have mentioned if both devices goes down and only one comes up then all VPC members ports and SVI's will stay down until the primary is back. (It means even if secondary comes up still there will be an outage cause it will wait for Primary)
    My concern is, even if the primary comes up first will it wait for Secondary to come up for establishing VPC peering ?
    We will be experiencing any issue if primary is awaiting for VPC peering with secondary ?

      Yes there will be outage irrespective of which one comes first because vpc needs two devices when it establishes from the scratch, for this problem we have auto recovery feature..once you finish all the cases most of your doubts will be cleared..

      @@TheNetworkShooters Thank you for your quick response. I have covered the entire series but just missed one word in my question that the question was focusing the case where Auto Recovery is not configured.
      Really appreciate your efforts in creating such quality videos and response to queries as well.

    So vPC without HSRP is disaster waiting to happen?

    What happens in Case 2 - if VPC Peer link is down and after some time Secondary switch fails completely ? Will there be any outage cause peer link and keep alive both are down and VPC state will be none established in primary Nexus. ( i.e. Vice versa of the scenario you explained )

    • @TheNetworkShooters
      @TheNetworkShooters  2 года назад

      There will not be any outage because primary is still up and ports in primary devices will still be active.
