  • This SMEG toaster was purchased new for $200 and failed after 4 months. The owner was advised by SMEG to cut off the cord and plug and dispose of it. And that a new toaster would be delivered in due course. No repair option was provided to the owner.
    Due to the pandemic, the delivery of the new toaster was held up. A toaster from KMart was purchased in the interim, and it has already lasted longer than the SMEG toaster did.
    This expensive SMEG toaster is an excellent visual example of how many household appliances, especially toasters, are designed NOT to be repaired.
