How do you not fill it but just outline it with a color? TY in advance.

I like to make the outline using the same method to keep it simple. There is just one extra step for this which is: (Keep your selection going for this which is the marching ants) Go to your menu bar up top and click Select -> Shrink -> Type in your outline Width (e.g. 5px) -> Okay. Then hit the delete key on your keyboard, which will delete the remaining fill color inside your outline.
